Portland, Oregon, orthodontist Dr. JD Miller and the team at Portland Pearl Orthodontics offer state-of-the-art orthodontic treatment to children, teens and adults in our comfortable and welcoming office.
Dr. Miller earned his DDS from the University of Southern California and completed his residency in orthodontics and dentofacial orthopedics at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center. Prior to opening Portland Pearl Orthodontics, Dr. Miller provided orthodontic treatment at practices in southern California and Salem.
Outside of helping patients achieve perfect smiles, Dr. Miller enjoys spending time with his family and traveling. He plays golf and tennis, and is a dedicated Portland Timbers fan. He is also musically inclined, and plays both acoustic and electric bass.

My son and daughter love coming to the orthodontist here. Doctor is knowledgable, staff are good and well trained. They had such a good experience I joined them with my Invisalign treatment that's finishing up now. I highly recommend this office

Great experience after finishing treatment. Brought in my 6 year old to the sister practice for her early growth orthodontics (Alphabet Orthodontics). Staff are friendly and competent and the whole process ran very smooth. Would recommend this office to my friends and family

While I was travelling to Portland, I had an orthodontic emergency and Dr Miller and his team have been amazing! They found the time to help me in short notice and I do not have enough words to say THANK YOU for their help. Dr Miller is definitely a 5 stars orthodontist who really focus in his patients wellbeing and needs. I would recommend to everyone in Portland to go there.

Dr. Miller and all of the staff here were professional, kind, and knowledgeable! They were happy to answer any questions I had. Dr. Miller was even willing to fix a small preference I had with my retainer 15 minutes before they closed, not to mention he made good recommendations to local dentists since I'm new to the area. Poor dental, customer service, and hygiene basics. Not able to take a simple impression, not able to keep office or hands clean, poor hygiene. These assistants do not wash hands or wear gloves appropriately prior to going in your mouth. They are not able to spend time explaining instructions to patients, but rather get you in and throw you out as soon as possible. Dr Miller had me schedule multiple appointments to "check my teeth", however had the assistant do some mindless task with me instead, and then would not "examine" my teeth at all. This felt like a common thing in their office based on what I would hear in nearby chairs as well. Each time I would call or go into the office they would treat me like I just began my treatment of Invisalign or they had no idea where in the process I was, as if they did not have a chart system in place. Frustrating as a patient to have to explain to the "professionals" what step in the process I am. I am comparing this experience to other dental/perio/ortho offices. I felt very brushed to the side and ignored this entire process, and was overall very unhappy about the entire treatment. I would recommend looking elsewhere if you want a personal, positive, professional, and clean experience.

Dr. Miller is quite the mastermind smile designer! Both my girls have been blessed with such great smiles thanks to his work. We had the please of 1 getting traditional braces and the other getting Invisalign treatment. Both worked out beautifully! If you're looking for a family oriented and kid friendly Orthodontist, Dr. Miller and Portland Pearl Orthodontist is the place to go! Happy Smiles!!
