We are quite different from many dental practices because we believe in taking a comprehensive approach to your dental health. Dr. Fujii and Dr. Kaveen examines every aspect of your dental health your teeth, gums and other soft tissue in your mouth, as well as your jaw and the way you bite. He also uses digital x-rays and intra oral cameras to get a set of highly detailed images of your teeth. Then, using our advanced computer technology, Portland Dentals team educates you about the health of your mouth so that you can co-diagnose the problems with the doctors and work together to meet your personal goals. Ultimately, our goal is to provide a solid foundation for your smile for excellent dental health throughout your entire life.
Gerald T. Fujii, DMD Dr. Fujii (or Gerry, as most of his friends call him) was born in Portland, OR and grew up in Hillsboro, OR. He went to Oregon State University and then on to Oregon Health & Science University for Dental School. He is a former president of the Southern Willamette Dental Society and an active member of the Mid Willamette Valley Study Club, Academy of General Dentistry, Oregon Dental Association, and American Dental Association. Dr. Fujii has been a lifelong Beaver fan and enjoys attending sporting events in Corvallis. His spare time is filled with waterskiing, basketball, golf, and a love for the Portland Trail Blazers with his wife Peggy.
Kaveendra T. Ranasinghe, DMD Dr. Kaveen (as he likes to be called), is an Oregon native, and he grew up in the Beaverton area. He went to Oregon State University, where he shadowed local dentists his junior year. It was during that time he discovered that dentistry is a perfect mix of healthcare, science and artistry. Dr. Kaveen then attended Oregon Health & Science University School of Dentistry. Being able to positively impact patients lives and overall health has been such a fulfilling position to be in. He is an active member of the AGD, ODA, ADA and American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry and has completed hundreds of hours of continuing education with a particular focus in areas of implant surgery, cosmetic dentistry and Invisalign treatment. Outside of work, Dr. Kaveen enjoys running, trying to golf, cooking, playing music, and hanging out with his family and friends. He is married to his beautiful wife, Brittany, whom he met in dental school, and they have a very handsome little boy together, Kris.

I hadn't been to the dentist for about 5 years and was super anxious about catching up on that but the team here made it so easy! They listened to my concerns/fears and have made everything so comfortable (well, as comfortable as dental work can get). I had cavities for the first time in my life and the dentist explained every step before we got started on the fillings to help me feel calm and ready for it (I was super scared before). Then he followed through and did a great job! My teeth weren't even sore after for very long. TL;DR, they have been very helpful, accommodating, and kind to me while doing great dental work. I'm recommending this place to all my friends and family in the Portland area.

I had an amazing experience getting my teeth cleaned today at the Portland Dental. I was nicely greeted by the front desk and met Michelle who took my X-rays. Dr. Kaveen greeted me warmly and reviewed my teeth and their overall health. I had my teeth thoroughly cleaned by Janice who took the time to explain and educate me on best oral care. She was very efficient and made my appointment such a great experience. 10 out of 10 would recommend!

My wife and I first started coming here when we moved to Portland in the summer of 2021. And it's been an absolute comfort every time. The hygienists are very compassionate and gentle, the scheduling staff are extremely accommodating and Dr. Kaveen is refreshingly honest and approachable. They've also helped me get my periodontitis under control with an awesome membership plan. On top of all that, Dr. Kaveen just replaced a crown that I received from a scumbag of a dentist in Vegas. He walked me through each step, showing me why he suggested it and the underlying cause (leftover cement from the initial crown) and even did a rush job because we were leaving town for a couple of months. Plus, he called me personally the day after the initial removal to check in on how I was doing. When has a dentist ever done that?! A good dentist and mechanic are two people you never want to let go of and I'm extremely glad I found one of them. I can't praise them enough!

I've been a patient at Portland Dental for the last 16 years. I can't think of a better team to address my dental needs. I inherited terrible teeth and have been through my share of fillings, crowns, and most recently 13 veneers. The team at Portland dental has been nothing but professional, expert in their work and attentive to my needs. The worst part of an upcoming move to Florida is losing this wonderful team. Can't say enough good things. Dr Fuji and his team helped me get turned around from some bad gum issues and get my mouth into healthy shape - several years running now with no issues! They're efficient, fast, and gentle. Super trustworthy as well, I know they don't recommend anything unless it's really needed.
