Wish there was an option for 10 stars. I had not been to the dentist in nearly 30 years due to having a horrible dentist in my childhood. Going into my first appointment I was so nervous. The office staff was super friendly and make you feel very welcome. Dr Michelle and her assistant Petia are truly amazing. Petia told me to relax and everything would be great. Dr Michelle said we would take our time. This was March 2022. Since then I have had extractions and a big cavity filled. I no longer am scared when I have an appt. Thank you so much for helping me overcome my fear and not judging. I wish I would have come in years ago.

Dr. Peter Davis and his team have provided us, and in particular, our elderly family members, with excellent service over the past several months. They needed considerable work, and in the end, were fitted with dentures, partial and full. Everyone in this practice, from office staff to dental staff, was consistently professional, friendly and responsive to our special needs. We recommend them highly.

Over the course of several years of going here quarterly, I had missed three appointments. In addition to the $50 cancellation fees, I was told this put me in "same day status", meaning I would only get an appointment if they had a cancellation and they would call me that day to see if I wanted the time slot. I could no longer actually schedule appointments, ever. I have a flexible work schedule, so I always made appointments during business hours. Inevitably, unexpected meetings came up that caused me to have to call to cancel. One of the three cancelations was due to illness. Don't waste your time on a place that is all about money and doesn't realize patients are people who have work obligations and lives.

I attended Portland Dental for 10+ years. I was always treated with great concern and respect and never had any continuing problems after having been treated there. What more can I say? The only reason I'm not going to them now is because I moved to Tucson Arizona.

Went in to get my a cavity and was pretty nervous going in. I got there about 15 minutes before my appointment and was taken into the exam room within 5 minutes of being there. The owner Michelle and her assistant were absolutely amazing. I was in and out in under 30 minutes and will never be scared of getting a filling again.

My wife and I were extremely disappointed with Portland Dental Health. My wife is in the Army and we get our dental insurance through the military (Tricare) and called ahead and asked if they take our insurance. I checked again when I arrived for my appointment. Both times they said "yes." After my visit for a routine cleaning, however, we received a bill for $180. $180! I called and asked, "What's the deal?" and they said they take our insurance, but they still weren't in our network, which is why the bill was so high. I said, "I understand you didn't do this maliciously, but by saying 'yes' to me the first time and not mentioning you weren't in our network, you led us to believe we would be covered." I asked if they could lower the price because of the misunderstanding, but they said, "There's nothing we can do." Of course there's something they could do: They COULD lower the price of the bill. What she meant to say was, 'There's nothing we WILL do." Even if they weren't under legal obligation to tell me they weren't in our network, they still have a moral obligation to not take advantage of customers. For their lack of morals, and for not working with us after receiving the crazy bill (we're a middle-class family, we can't afford $180 dental check-ups), I give them one star.

I never went to the dentist through college, and this was the first one I tried once I moved to Portland. The staff members are friendly and the Doctors are knowledgeable. They discovered a cavity in my first visit and were able to treat it on the same day, answering the multitude of questions I had about the procedure. Since then I have been going three to four times a year and my teeth haven't had any problems! The dental hygienists are all pretty different, and there are some I like better than others - some offer a barrage of superficial conversation which can be a little uncomfortable, while others are a little more... genuine? There seems to be a weird push for certain brands of home dental products which is weird when I'm with certain hygienists, too. I don't know what the deal is around that, but I like it better when I just get the basic care and information I need. I have also had both most pleasant and most uncomfortable cleaning experiences at this practice, so my experience varies wildly with each hygienist I guess. Anyway, as long as I get one of the good hygienists this is probably one of the best practices I will ever visit, and I have no plans to change anytime soon.

I've been to a few different dentists but this is by far the best. Every time I have seen Dr Davis or Dr Michelle they take the time to explain everything and you can tell they really care about their patients. I also have difficulty getting numb, but they understood this and did everything they could to make it a good experience.

Staff was friendly and helpful. First cleaning and consult were painless and as pleasant as can be expected. So, you can imagine, I was doubly disappointed to have encountered problems that resulted in 4 hours of back and forth only to be prescribed a pain medicine that I am allergic to. It raised serious safety concerns for me and, ultimately, I was given the impression that I was the problem because I couldn't have the procedure three days early (I was already scheduled for Monday) because I didn't have child care with three hours notice. Moreover, they were not concerned or apologetic when advised that they had given me medication that I told them repeatedly, verbally and in writing, that I am allergic to. Very disappointing and, ultimately unsafe. Be careful when selecting your dentist
