Since Graduating from the faculty of the number one dental school in the nation The University of Texas Health Science Center San Antonio, Dr. Mogri has complimented his experience with an on going commitment to continuing educationkeeping in step with the latest in treatment modalities and technological advancements. Learning the latest in the areas of restorative (white fillings), cosmetic (porcelain veneers and whitening), implants and crown and bridge (caps), endodontics (root canal treatments), and periodontics (we place a real emphasis on healthy gums in our practice), enables Dr. Mogri to continue to keep his patients functioning comfortably and looking their very best. He is also a member of the American Dental Association, Texas Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry and The Greater Houston Dental Society
After graduating from high school, Ahmad Millwala moved to Chicago where he earned his bachelors degree in computer science from Northeastern Illinois University. He graduated Summa Cum Laude and was an honors program graduate. He then attended dental school at the University of Louisville, in Louisville, Kentucky.
After receiving his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree, he did a one-year general practice residency program at the University of Louisville Hospital where his passion for oral surgery grew. He went on to attend New York Medical College for four years of training as an Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon, where he also served as the Chief Resident during his final year. The residency was based out of Westchester Medical Center and Metropolitan Hospital. During this time, Dr. Ahmad Millwala gained extensive experience in treating diseases of the head and neck region. Special emphasis was placed on facial trauma and office-based procedures such as tooth extractions, bone grafting and placement of dental implants.
Dr. Millwala is a Fellow of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons. He is also a member of the American Dental Society of Anesthesiology and a member of the American Academy of osseointegration. He is also board certified by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons.
Dr. Kamran Shaikh earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery at the New York University College of Dentistry. He went on to do a hospital-based residency at the University of Louisville. After practicing general dentistry for a couple years, Dr. Shaikh returned to the University of Louisville to pursue his passion of being an orthodontist while also earning his Masters degree in Oral Biology.
Dr. Shaikh is experienced in the treatment of complex surgical orthodontic cases for adults, as well as early interceptive orthodontic therapy for children, and traditional comprehensive orthodontic treatment of teenagers.
Dr. Shaikh moved to Houston in 2011 with his family where he enjoys cheering for the Astros and Rockets. Dr. Shaikh is very passionate about being an orthodontist and is available to answer any questions regarding orthodontic treatment.
Dr. Burhanuddin Johar is a graduate from The University of Louisville. He graduated with his Bachelors in Biology from The University of Kentucky and received his Doctor of Medicine in Dentistry degree from The University of Louisville School of Dentistry. Born with a passion for art and science, Dr. Johar has sought out mentorship and opportunities to help build a strong foundation of skills to successfully practice ethical dentistry. In his free time, Dr. Johar is cheering on The New England Patriots and The Kentucky Wildcats. He also enjoys intense games of Catan, the spiciest foods he can get his hands on, and getting outside as much as possible.

The Dr. is amazing. He was so compassionate and took his time with my mother. After seeing how he and his amazing staff treated my mother, I made a switch to this office! I have always loved getting my teeth cleaned but this is the first time that I looked forward to seeing the staff! Such a great experience.

The staff was extremely friendly and welcoming, the doctor was very knowledgeable, personable, and explained things clearly and concisely. Additionally, cleaning was quick, effective, and most importantly, painless! Highly recommend!

I love the positive vibes from every member of this awesome team. They are professional and friendly and the way they explain the procedure you know that they are knowledgeable about every aspect of dentistry, and their expertise made me feel safe and sure that they have my best interest at heart. What made me so happy was they gave me an option for my treatment that was so innovative and so very cool that it got me excited to actually get it done asap! Thank you ever so much!

The staff is always so nice and professional! My daughter literally gets excited about going to her dentist. The dentist is very nice and will take time for any questions you have. He explains everything so clearly! Definitely a place for the family!

Everyone in the office is nice..when I went in to have my teeth pulled there was not judging no rudeness.....Dr showed me so much compassion and had great bedside manners..I was scared it would hurt to have my 8 teeth pulled he assured me no pain he was right the Dr and bea took care of me....thank you all for taking care of me.. sincerely Becky overton

My husband brought our 3 year old in for her cleaning and they were great with her! Going to the dentist is all she talked about all day. We were referred by a friend and will definitely be telling more people about this office!

This dentist office is simply amazing. I had to get two teeth pulled and Dr.Johar and nurse Bea are a dream team. I have such bad anxiety for the dentist and I didn't feel scared one bit. Thank you so much for everything.

Everytime we have been they have been quick and very nice. A few dentist we have been to before have been very rude to our son. Porter smiles was very good with him. No complaints of any kind about this dentist office

This is the best dentist we have found in the last 10 years! The office staff is very friendly, the girls that assist the dentist are absolutely awesome, and the dentist is gentle and genuinely cares about his patients.

Was nervous about visiting a new dentist because we moved recently and took my kids as well both of my kids said it was cool no problems no issues and to hear them say that was a lot so when it was my turn the dentist explained everything he was doing was very professional and kept asking me if I was ok so I understand why my kids said it was cool because it was the staff was funny friendly and professional that I have to come back Thank you porter smiles

I really like this dental office..i know, i know...who likes the dentist?!?! Honestly, the ladies in the front office are awesome and very kind, always a joy to see. The Dr. is excellent as well. He is very upfront and honest with you about treatments. This is very important to me, because I find that there are so many dentist who just are not. The office is always very clean and there is never a wait. I feel very lucky to have found Porter Smiles Dentistry. Great job guys.

I HATE going to the dentist! I would rather pull my teeth with pliers than see a dentist. But my wife insisted that I go. So I made an appointment at Porter Smiles. First off we were able to fill out all the new patient paperwork online, which meant I could.just walk in. Next the receptionist and Office Manager were upfront and friendly. They treated me like an old friend who had retirned from a trip and not some stranger who they wanted to get into their wallet. My appointment was for 1500 and I was out of there by 1630, which for a first time visit is pretty darn quick. They put me at ease. They performed the work at my pace so if I needed a break they let me have it. The dentist is young but highly knowledgeable and remarkably good at explaining not only your options but how best to proceed. I chew tobacco and most of the time there is a lot of shamming at a dentist's office, but not here. He treated me like an adult who made a decision and understood the costs. They took good care of me. They laid out the cost of the work that needed to be done completlely understanding my insurance coverage and comsidering my ability to pay for the work. I have already made another appointment and my family will be seeing them as well. They are WONDERFUL! Would nevee have imagined enjoying going to the dentist. Thank you!
