Dr. Porter received his bachelor of arts degree in 1988 and doctorate of dental surgery degree in 1992 from the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill. Dr. Porter founded his private practice in Charlotte shortly afterwards, and has been treating patients for more than 25 years. In fact, some of his patients have been coming to him since the office opened.

Dr. Porter regularly attends seminars and classes so that he can provide modern, precise care as the field of dentistry evolves. He has undergone training at the Dawson Academy, Spear Education, and CERECdoctors.com. For training in implant placement, Dr. Porter studied with Dr. Michael E. Pruett at the Georgia Regents University, College of Dental Medicine. He is a proud alumnus of the L.D. Pankey Institute and the Dental Organization for Conscious Sedation, and he is a Fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry.

Dr. Porter has worked tirelessly to integrate the latest dental technology into his practice, including laser dentistry and integrated digital radiographic and photographic technology. He is especially proud of the practices extensive use of CEREC technology, and has spent many hours learning about the use of advanced 3D imaging. CEREC uses video imaging to create extremely precise digital models of patients' smiles so that Dr. Porter can design, create, and place durable, cosmetic crowns, bridges, and porcelain veneers in just one visit.

Dr. Porter also offers sedation dentistry services. He understands that dental anxiety and phobia are a real problem, and strives to make dental care relaxing and comfortable by offering a variety of sedation options, including nitrous oxide (laughing gas) and oral sedation.

Mitzi has been welcoming patients at our office since 2013. Mitzi loves gardening, going to the beach, and volunteering at her church. When shes not helping coordinate your dental care, shes often cheering on her niece and nephew at soccer games. If you ever have any dental questions or concerns, Mitzi is only a phone call away!

Loree has worked at our office since 2002. She loves working with patients, and getting to know them. Sharing lifes details and keeping up with her patients is why she loves being a hygienist. She always wants to create a positive experience for your dental care! She and her husband have 3 horses, a border collie, and a barn kitty.

Joy has been a hygienist for 34 years, and is known for her personal connection with patients. When shes not in our office making your smile shine, she enjoys making jewelry and finding new restaurants in the Charlotte area. She loves spending time with her husband and two college-aged sons.

Allie has been a hygienist at our office since 2015. She is passionate about providing excellent care, and teaching patients how best to care for their teeth at home. Allie also enjoys spending time with her husband and son, being active, reading, and doing home improvement projects.

Kim has worked with Dr. Charlie for over 25 years. One of her favorite aspects of being a hygienist is having opportunities to help patients overcome their dental fears, and begin new experiences of dental health. When shes not in our office, she loves to be outdoors gardening, hiking, exploring waterfalls, and enjoying good music. Most of all, she loves spending time with her family. She has three daughters and four grandchildren.

Aaliyah interned with Dr. Charlie when she was in dental assisting school, and has been at our office since! She enjoys traveling, trying new restaurants, and spending time with family and friends. Her attention to detail helps keep patients comfortable at every visit.

Our infection control processes are made so that when you receive care, its both safe and comfortable. We want to tell you about the infection control procedures we follow in our practice to keep patients and stay safe.

Our office follows infection control recommendations made by the American Dental Association (ADA), the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). We follow the activities of these agencies so that we are up-to-date on any new rulings or guidance that may be issued. We do this to make sure that our infection control procedures are current and adhere to each agencies recommendations.
