Joseph J. Portale aims to provide the highest quality dental services based on the newest technologies and techniques. Dr. Portale is a proponent of continuous education on any and all changes in the industry. He believes that staying educated helps his team provide first-rate services, whether in general and family dentistry, restorative dentistry, or sleep-disordered breathing.
Dr. Portale graduated from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey in 1972. He has since become a fellow and master of the American Academy of General Dentistry, an award given to less than 1% of dentists across the country. He has also been on the medical teaching staff at St. Josephs Hospital for around seven years.
Dr. Portale continues to educate himself in a variety of dental areas, such as periodontal and endodontic dentistry, cosmetic practices, oral surgery, and restorative dentistry. His oral surgery focuses include extractions, impacted teeth, implant placement and grafting.

It is always a pleasure going to the dentist at Dr. Portales. Everyone is very kind and considerate. He has been my dentist for almost 40 years. I wouldn't want to go anywhere else

I cannot fully explain how wonderful Dr. Portale is. His office staff are just as wonderful. I am a highly anxious patient and their patience with me is extraordinary. Anyone with the least bit of concern seeing a dentist should seriously consider Dr. Portale. A lovely, comfortable office.

Portale Dental is the cleanest, most professional and friendly dental clinic I have ever been too. I recently had a teeth cleaning done by Katie, the dental hygienist, and it was such a good experience. She was thorough, explained every step of the procedure and so patient. I need a cavity done afterwards and Dr. Portale took care of it quickly and painlessly. Can only highly recommend their services.

Immaculately clean. Beautifully decorated and comfortable seating with an interesting aquarium full of tropical fish to help you relax. Professional and friendly staff. I have sensitive teeth and gums yet Dr Portale makes going to the dentist as easy and painless as a walk through a park. I honestly cannot imagine going to another dentist. God Bless! I've been going to Dr. Portale for over 30 years and I must say that they are an excellent dentistry. They have catered to me because I am a very nervous person and I was afraid of going back to a dentist because of previous experiences. Once I started going to Dr. Portale and his staff I have not stopped, they are all such great and professional people. I would recommend them to anyone & every time I go I have a pleasant experience.

I was so impressed with Dr. Portale's approach, knowledge, and modern technologies. All my questions were answered promptly and with clarity. My goal to find a true cost justified professional was attained. Follow up "cleaning" went very well. Been seeing Dr. Portale now for over 20 years! He's the only one I trust to do any kind of work on my teeth. He's very particular with his craft and will fix something if it's not right. He's got a great staff that always treat you like family. Kids see him now too. Highly recommend him.
