Port Washington Dental Careprovides a variety of cosmetic dentistry solutions to enhance the beauty of your smile. If youve been hiding your teeth due to discoloration, misalignment, or other aesthetic issues, we can help! We offer whitening, smile design, teeth recontouring, veneers, bonding, and all ceramic/porcelain crowns.

Dental veneers are rapidly becoming one of the most cosmetic dentistry treatment options available. Veneers are a comfortable a versatile way to correct a number of dental flaws with ease. Whether you suffer from chips, cracks, discoloration, or even misalignment, porcelain veneers will do the trick!

Invisalign effectively straightens your teeth with a series of clear, custom-molded aligners. These virtually invisible trays will align your teeth comfortably, without the unwanted attention of metal brackets and wires. Every two weeks you will receive a new set of aligner trays which will gradually shift your teeth into position, until you have a beautifully straight smile! Unlike traditional braces, the Invisalign trays can be removed for cleaning and eating, allowing for a much more comfortable orthodontic experience with the same great results!

Its a sad thing when people judge others by their appearance. When you meet someone, what do you notice first? Their smile, most likely. Then you start to talk with them and find out what theyre all about.

Youre probably not so shallow that you wouldnt want to have anything to do with someone whose teeth were yellowed, but youd be surprised at how many people really do judge people on something like that. Theyre put off by a discolored smile.

Of course if youre worried about being judged because of a yellow smile, the best thing you can do is work to improve it. You can have a better smile withwhiteningtreatments. Most likely, youve seen TV ads for whitening products, and youve seen whitening products in supermarkets and pharmacies. Some of them work. Some dont. Some can even harm your tooth enamel.

At Port Washington Dental Care,Dr. Katechiscan help you to whiten your teeth with treatments that typically take less than an hour, and are non-invasive. Its a simple matter of putting a specialwhiteninggel in a tray, which is then placed in your mouth. Its not uncomfortable, and the gel has a pleasing taste. With professional whitening, youll see an improvement of several shades in very little time.

Of course you dont want to take chances with your teeth, and youre much better off with professional whitening than you are with over-the counter whitening kits. You want to consult a dentist like Dr. Tassos Katechis, who has access towhiteningtreatments that work much better than the over-the-counter solutions. You can count on Dr. Katechis to never recommend anything that will harm your teeth.

You enjoy life. You love to drink coffee, tea, and red wine. Perhaps you smoke we wish you wouldnt, but were not here to judge. The point were trying to make is that all those things you love can be very hard on your teeth. They can stain your teeth, and conventional toothpastes wont help to remove the staining. Even professional cleanings, although helpful, wont deliver the results you want.

AtPort Washington Dental Care, Dr. Katechis can provide you with professional cleaning solutions that will remove the stains that accumulate on your teeth through the simple joys of living. You can have your teeth brightened and whitened in-office, and even be provided with treatments that you can take home that will provide varying levels of whiteness. Of course in order to maintain the full brilliance of your newly whitened teeth we suggest that you come back and see us for in-office whitening from time to time.

Some cosmetic dentistry treatments can be expensive, but you might be surprised at how many procedures are well within just about anyones financial means. A full set ofcrownsmight not be in your budget, but there is a good chance that your dental imperfections can be corrected with less costly treatments like bonding orporcelain veneers.

This is another of the most common misconceptions about cosmetic dentistry that you must spend untold hours in your Merrick dentists chair. The fact is, unless your treatment involves the use of braces, you can probably have your cosmetic dentistry treatment completed in a visit or two.

This misconception probably arises from the belief that many people have, that a full-mouth restoration is always warranted. The truth is that it depends on the nature of your dental issues. You might need more than one treatment (in which case you probably will need a few visits), but if your imperfections just involve the need for bonding or awhitening treatment, you only need one visit. Even dental crowns can be installed in just one visit atPort Washington Dental Carein Merrick, thanks to CEREC technology.

Given the advances in dental knowledge and technology, no dental treatment should hurt, and cosmetic dentistry treatments are no different. Your dentist is not going to do anything that will cause you pain.

Patients are often surprised when their dentist refers them to a specialist fordental implants, orthodontic treatments and other cosmetic dentistry procedures. This is because they are operating under another of the most common misconceptions about cosmetic dentistry that any dentist can provide these treatments. The truth is that it requires a good deal of extra training to be a cosmetic dentist.

If you are unhappy with your smile, contact usat Port Washington Dental Care in Merrick, New York. You can reach us at 516-378-1725. Dr. Tassos Katechis will be happy to talk with you about any misconceptions you may have about cosmetic dentistry, and recommend a course of treatment.

For a long time, me and my family members came to this dentist office. It's embarrassing to admit the number of times we put up with their unprofessionalism. They overbook patients all the time leading to very long wait times. One of the female doctors laughed at a family members face when asked a question that apparently was "such a ridiculous question." That same doctor attended said family member aggressively after that question was asked. They messed up another family members dentures. Refused to fix and dismissed her because she doesn't speak very well English. Save your time and questions for a more put together and kind office.

I am still sitting here in shock! This is one of the BEST dental offices I have ever been to. I had painless root canals done. And the reason for my shock is because I had a bridge installed and it did NOT include being hit with a rubber hammer or having someone press down on my jaw with immense pressure. I keep checking to make sure that my teeth are still in my mouth which they are. All of my questions were answered and the plan of action was carefully and compassionately explained to me. There were no surprises. During my procedures I was checked on frequently (being asked if I was ok & making sure I was not in any pain). Thank you to all who worked on my mouth. Thank you to the kind office personnel. You are all so kind and caring. You all helped me to get thru this comfortably and supportively. I was so nervous and you all took the time to help calm me and to reassure me. I can't say enough good things about Port Washington Dental Care. I am thrilled to have found such an awesome dental group to handle my oral care and concerns! Great job and thank you so much. I love my new smile!

I went to this office four times. First time I came in for a cleaning they told me I had a tooth cracked and they needed to fill it in and they said I would need to come back to do that. Each time, they made me wait over an hour and a half. The filling took them less then 10 minutes - such a waste of my time that they couldn't do it on the spot. After my next cleaning 6 months later, I learned that their filling didn't work and again they couldnt fix it on the spot and i'd have to come back. Most recently, I had asked for a later appointment time and they said they couldnt give it to me. I called prior to see if they were running on time and they still did not express to me that they were running an hour and a half late!! I was getting a tooth fixed (again) and my actual visit took only 7 minutes. I feel they did a rushed job not hey cut up my dues and i've been in SO MUCH pain since leaving the office and dont know what to do because I dont want to go back there to get it looked at because it was such a horrible experience being there and I dont trust them. I feel like the whole office is sketchy, I cant believe you can be a licensed dentist and be so incompetent. Now i'm going to have to search for another office and pay again to get their botched job fixed plus im dealing with so much pain!! Also, every time I go I get a different doctor. They aren't even apologetic they are running so late. the front desk just kept telling me it would be another 10 minutes. Then when I saw the actual dentist I told them and they didn't even acknowledge! In summary: Horrible Horrible Horrible experience - Waited an hour and a half to be seen, botched job (TWICE), horrible bedside manner and communication.

I have been going here for several years. Stella at the office manager is always friendly and helpful. I recently got a root canal and it was pain free and much easier than I expected. DR.Tassos did my crown and I am very happy with it. My insurance did not cover the all porcelain crown but he covered the difference. Not many places would do this. He explained everything he was doing during the process which eased my anxiety. I highly recommend Port Washington Dental. Also their hygienist is excellent.

Dr. Tassos is unbelievable! Had a tooth ache that turned out to need a root canal. The doctor got me in as soon as possible and the pain I had when I walked in with is now gone. Great staff who made sure I was comfortable the entire time. Took the fear out of having any work done. Thank you!

I honestly don't have words to describe how unprofessional this place is. First and foremost, a particular dentist here is the reason that I have a fear of dental work to begin with, as he regularly shamed me for having cavities from a young age and made me feel embarrassed to go to my regular checkups. Not to mention, they are systematically unconcerned with inconveniencing patients. I had a root canal scheduled today for 4PM, which they confirmed with me both the night before and the day of. Upon getting there I was told that the doctor was running an hour and a half behind schedule, but that I should stay in the office in case he has time to get started earlier than that. An hour and 45 minutes later, at 5:45 the secretaries informed me that the doctor was leaving at 6PM and therefore would not be able to see me today, wasting nearly 2 hours of my time during a really stressful finals period when I could have been preparing for exams. They then informed me that the next and only available opening they have is on Christmas Eve at 10AM, and asked me to come back then. I am a person who is deathly afraid of the dentists office, due entirely to their behavior over the years. Despite the secretaries being nice, they failed to inform me that I would not be seen today until the very end of the day, and left me with no choice but to put my holiday plans on hold to fix a necessary issue. All in all I will be looking for a new dentist and I hope you do not make the mistake of trusting them with your time or dental care. While the doctors are obviously skilled, they are insanely arrogant and do not have any regard for their patients.

This dental place it's the worst ... they are HUNGRY FOR MONEY!! watch out... not only that, the front desk people are rude... starting with The Manage, they need to take a Customer Services class... they act like they are doing you a favor when you actually giving them a chance to build up their business. I think they actually take advantage of low income families at least that's how I felt. I just feel sorry for those few nice people that work there .... they should be able to find a better place like we are. There are so many places that would be happy to have more dental patients. This place it's really the worst!!

Dr. Hanifa is a wonderful dentist. She explained me everything from beginning to end. I fully trust her with my treatment. I'm really happy I found a reliable and very professional dentist as Dr. Hanifa! The office was extremely clean. I felt extremely comfortable knowing that they were following COVID-19 and health guidelines to keep everyone safe. The staff was very friendly and helpful and I have been to other dentists that exaggerated what my needs were in order to make more money. So it was a relief to find a dental company with integrity!

After seeing this doctor for ten years, we had to change the insurance after the Covid pandemic. Then they suddenly stopped seeing us with the unacceptable excuses (to see another emergency patient or the receptionist was sick out) twice during a week. I'm pretty much sure they didn't want to take our new insurance. The most terrible experience I've ever had. I'd love to file this case to the NY States.

The receptionists were disorganized and terrible. They called and blamed me that I missed an appointment, but I didn't make an appointment that day. When they found out that was their mistake, they didn't even apologize to me. Also, I made appointments for my kids and me in person. But they missed them. We went there for nothing and wasted our time. I can't trust them at all.

If i could i would give 0 stars. Terrible place. I was there last week for a reg cleaning & heard some employees being rude and yelling at eachother while patients are in the room I would not recommend going here for anything other than a long waiting day around toxic energies. BYE

If I could give a 0 star review I would. 1000% would not recommend this dentist office. They scammed me into having a $600 crown lengthening surgery in which NO ONE told me about. They left me to fend for myself with the insurance company without them even calling my insurance company to help me out. DO NOT go here.
