Cosmetic dentist Dr. Samaha graduated from the Medical College of Virginia School of Dentistry, Virginia Commonwealth University, and has been in private practice in Newport News since 1982. Her professional awards and affiliations run deep. She is also well-known for her presentations at medical and dental conferences on both local and national levels.
Dr. Samaha is proud to be a part of an extensive family of healthcare professionals and esteemed educators, most importantly her late father, a periodontist, who inspired within her a passion for dentistry early in life.
In 2003, Dr. Samaha fulfilled her vision of a beautiful, healing space as she created her office in the charming development of Port Warwick, in Newport News, Virginia. Her exceptional, highly talented team has assisted in the creation of a world-class practice which attracts a local, national and international clientele who appreciate their unique, comprehensive and holistic approach to dental care, always custom-designed for each patient. Although Dr. Samaha is well known for her artistry and technical excellence in smile design, the quality of our patients periodontal and thus, total health is also of highest concern at Port Warwick Dental Arts. Dr. Samaha works closely with our patients physicians to coordinate best healthcare for them, relative to their oral healthcare.
Our facility is also the home of the Perio Arts Institute. Dr. Samaha is the Founder and Director of the Institute which has two divisions: Perio Arts Education and PerioPassion! Seminars which count for advanced periodontal continuing education hours. In her second floor teaching space, Dr. Samaha enthusiastically engages and instructs fellow dental health professionals in her advanced periodontal disease treatment protocol, to include her extensive case presentations. Her seminar is now also available on DVD.

Do you have dental anxiety? If you do, go see Dr. Lisa Samaha, Port Warwick Dental Arts! I had not been to the dentist in over 9 years because of my anxiety. I lost a crown, had a broken tooth and a tooth completely gone, except for the root. I made an appointment and the minute I walked into the office, I was greeted with smiles and beautiful music. Her office is peaceful, all her assistants are top notch and they explain what is going on. Dr. Samaha was warm, caring and was not only concerned about my teeth, but also the total me. She made me feel at ease. I have never experienced this in a dental office. She helped me understand the connection between healthy teeth and healthy body. I am so grateful. My extraction was painless and she checked on me when I was at home. I have never had a dentist check on me in my life and I am 71. Thank you Dr. Samaha and your office for caring so much. You will be my dentist until God decides my time is up. Your practice has a refreshing policy of Holistic health and I am very thankful!

After we had a unsuccessful tongue/lip tie procedure done at another location, we were looking for a new provider. We called around and couldn't get an appointment for weeks. But when I spoke to the receptionist here she was so compassionate. She said oh no you can't nurse we need to get you in right away and she did. We scheduled for two days later. When we arrived everyone was so nice and we went straight back. The procedure was thoroughly explained to us and we were educated on other dental issues. The procedure was quick and my daughter tolerated it well. We were able to nurse successfully the same day and I was so happy I cried. I am feel very grateful that we found Dr. Samaha.

This service is 5 star. The staff is welcoming and efficient. Went for cleaning and had a thorough examination. Dr. Samaha is on the front line of wholistic dentistry. I had a serious problem with periodontal disease. Through laser treatments my gums are much healthier. It is worth the expense.

Dr. Samaha is one of the most exemplary practitioners I have had the pleasure of getting to know and be helped by. She truly cares for me and my family and is professional, knowledgeable, and kind. I am grateful we live close to the practice but if we did not we would make the drive. I highly recommend this office for every dental health need!

The staff is excellent, very professional, and valued my time. Maria, was great explaining future steps, and procedures, and answered any questions about the future steps, and procedures very professionally. I cannot leave out the young lady at the front desk. TRUE, WHOLE BODY, HOLISTIC FAMILY DENTISTRY! This is the first dentist out of TEN our family has seen that truly helped us to address all aspects of oral health. If you are looking for an attentive, precise and trustworthy holistic dentist look no further. Have you struggled to find help with your child who has seemingly unexplainable or confusing dental patterns?! Everything can be addressed and improved here! Dr. Samaha has a clear drive and passion for this scientific art, and I am forever thankful she has chosen to use her God-given gifts to help others to the absolute best of her ability. She has an extensive knowledge base, not just of dental arts but also all things health and wellness, including facial and oral development and growth patterns especially related to airway and mouth breathing. We found this office after lots of searching, many other dentists, not all bad, but we knew that the products and services offered at Port Warwick were each carefully selected using the most up to date research and patient individuality in mind. It is no secret that children are presenting with more and more dental concerns at younger ages. Our son was an especially challenging case, and our family has been treated with grace under some very difficult circumstances. We finally received the airway and mouth breathing help we needed! We finally received the nutritional partnership we needed! We finally found a dentist that doesn't use dangerous products to get the job done! Very nice office staff and dentist however, unnecessary procedures were recommended. Literally like pulling teeth to get your records so you can get a second opinion. I have called several times. Although I have gotten the x-ray pics, the dental notes seem to be under lock and key.

We love working with Dr. Samaha. She has incredible bedside manner and helps set a peaceful tone for the room. Appointments have run very behind the last two visits due to traffic and delayed patients, but that is what can happen when people are willing to drive from Virginia Beach to receive her care. I had some questions about my billing and I am waiting to hear back from the front desk, but other than that we are always very pleased with our experiences at this practice!

I haven't felt this good about visiting a dental office in a long time until I went to Dr. Samaha. My daughter had to get 2 extractions, Dr. Samaha and her team were so patient and gentle with my child. They listened to my concerns as a parent and did NOT make me feel like, "we're the professionals so what we say goes" ....they gave me great feedback as well and I really feel like they truly care about the overall health of a patient and not just teeth. We are truly blessed to have been led by the Lord to Port Warwick Dental Arts. Thank you Jesus

Dr Samaha is a great dentist with a holistic approach, which we love. She's knowledgable and seems well educated. Her assistants are very kind as well, despite seeming very "on-edge" and stressed out. But the main issue I have here is that she does not seem to value your time. You can have the first appointment of the day and still have to wait 45 minutes for your treatment to even begin. My last visit was for a "quick check" on my 9 month old son's previous procedure to ensure everything looked okay and we were there for over an hour. The surgery appointment itself took 2.5 hours (mostly just waiting to be seen). I can appreciate a dentist that takes their time with their patients but I can't appreciate one who doesn't adjust her schedule to accommodate for the extra time she really needs. Schedule appointments here with caution... you'll be pleased with your dentist and the work (in my opinion) but very annoyed with the amount of unexpected time you will spend in her office. She also requires your treatment to be paid for upfront and you have to file your own claims to your insurance company, which is very abnormal these days.

Google could not provide me with enough space to articulate the impeccable consultation, attentive care, deep consideration, positivity, superior service, and detailed holistic consultation that I received from this amazing team. From the very moment that I researched Dr. Samaha's office, I had a hunch that my dental experience here would be life-changing. And guess what? I was right! Coming to Dr. Samaha was the best decision that I have ever made concerning my dental health/treatment. After years of consistently horrible dental experiences, failed treatment plans, and really, just poor patient-provider interactions I had nearly lost hope in all providers. Yet, my experience with Dr.Samaha has restored my faith that selfless and compassionate practitioners do exist. She, in my opinion, is the creme de la creme of dentist because she is both a great contributor to the ongoing paradigm shift in dentistry (Ozone therapy anyone?) and above all a genuine person. Over a month ago, I called their office and was engaged promptly and courteously by Sandy who initiated my new patient process. She went above and beyond to make sure that I received detailed information about scheduling/what to expect on my visit. The day of my visit further confirmed that I was in great hands. I was educated but never condescended, empowered but never pushed, and treated with sincere respect from everyone. Nothing but smiles here. Dr.Samaha was the first dentist in my entire life that set aside a healthy amount of time to provide a consultation and HEAR me as a concerned patient. She took the time to hear my concerns, investigate my history, and develop a sound treatment plan. Fast forward, my journey towards a healthier mouth and body has been absolutely wonderful. I can truly say this is a phenomenal dental practice, a gem in Newport News, a team of loving people who care about their clients and love to help others. This is exactly where you need to be for resolving any and nearly all of your oral health concerns. Trust me, I'm a patient :) PWDA is a paragon of dentistry!
