Dr. Smith and I were high school sweet hearts and married in 1982. Our two sons, Sean and Ryan are now married so we have two bonus daughters in our family. Sean graduated from EWU with a mechanical engineering degree and works for Romeo Power in Vernon, CA. Sean and his wife, Kim, live in Long Beach, CA. Ryan graduated from Linfield College. Ryan and his wife, Karla, now live in the Bahamas, working for Hyatt. My hobbies include: reading, scrapbooking, and volunteer chaperoning on the Stanwood Ski bus for over 20 years. Skiing Mt. Baker and restoring our 100-year-old house in Stanwood keeps me busy when I am not managing the office.
Joann has worked as a hygienist for over 20 years and has a gentle yet thorough style. She is confident and always up-to-date with current periodontal techniques and therapies. She enjoys getting to see patients and is always welcoming new ones. Dental hygiene is now focusing on inflammation and how it directly affects other areas of the body. Without being overwhelming or judgmental, Joann strives to help people understand their own individual needs. She works hard to help people feel comfortable while receiving care, especially those that my have had previous negative memories about dental visits. In her spare time, she enjoys gardening and spending time with her family.
My name is Nicole. I have been working as a dental assistant for 4 years now. I enjoy learning all that dentistry has to offer and am working toward becoming a dental hygienist. I strive to help give patients comfortable and informed care. In my free time I love to be outside kayaking, hiking or just walking my dogs. I also enjoy painting with acrylics.

Do not go here very Unrealistic prices I have regions for insurance and still had to pay out-of-pocket for cleaning due to their high prices I would never come back here again and the front desk never let me know about their prices I have never had to pay out-of-pocket my whole life for dental treatment!! Do not recommend going here! And office is out of date and they are always short staffed.

Hand a consultation and was x-rayed just to be referred to a surgeon who has to do x rays prior to surgery. So now I'm paying twice. Skip this dentist office all together. Their priority is profit not your mouth. Doctor could have visually referred me before making additional money from an x ray.

Just had a cleaning from Joann, friendly as always, good nature, funny and of coarse did a great job on my teeth. I had skipped going to the dentist for far too long before hearing good things about Dr. Smith. He and his team got me back in good dental shape. I am lucky to have them and very thankful.

Over 20 years with Dr. Russell Smith. His work is superb. He and his staff are very professional and knowledgeable. Joann is so gentle, skilled, patient and kind when cleaning my teeth. A first-class experience every time I visit this office!

My deepest gratitude to Port Susan Dental Care, Russell Smith, DDA and his staff. Dr. Smith is that rare bird in these times- a man of integrity. He is thorough, kind, patient and these values are reflected in his staff. In the past, the dentists I've visited have taken care of my urgent needs and using X-Rays explained any other cavities that needed to be fixed. Smith is the first dentist I've ever had who mapped out a chart for my dental and oral care and treatment going forward. He explained the work, time frames and the costs. Thank you Port Susan Dental Care.

My 88 year old Mom broke a piece in her denture that secures it to an implant and her dentist (and most others) were closed Friday before the 4th of July weekend. Found Port Susan Dental Care using Google and they were open and found time to work Mom in to their busy schedule quickly. They were very kind and professional and Mom was very happy with the temp repair they were able to do. I should also mention that we were moving her the next day to another city, and she would not have been able to eat solid food for several days until she found a dentist in her new location. Thank you Dr Smith for helping out at a very stressful time for us!

Everyone at this office is awesome... The work they did to my front tooth looked great in my wedding photos! I'd had no idea how much having that hole in my tooth was draining my confidence in myself until I got it fixed. If you're the nervous type like me, I especially recommend these folks, they'll take good care of you :) ~Jess
