It is our goal to help a child develop the habits that are necessary to maintain good oral health throughout their life. Prevention of dental disease is to be preferred over treatment. Good preventative habits, developed early, usually translate into better individual oral health, which means less dental treatment is required over the individuals life. Consequently, prevention is a major component of what we do.
When treatment is required, it is our goal to accomplish the necessary treatment in a compassionate manner, making things as comfortable as possible for the child. We recognize that dental treatment is not always pleasant and that different children respond differently to the same procedures. We do our best to individualize the treatment approach based upon the type of treatment required and the childs ability to cope with what is necessary.
We always strive to do what is in the best interest of the child. We feel that it is best to have a child in the care of those that are the highest trained to handle any given situation and so we will refer to other specialists when it is appropriate to do so. An example of this is that, although we follow and document the growth and development of a childs teeth and jaws very closely, when it is time for active intervention, we will refer to an orthodontist for braces.
Dr. Port has lived in West Michigan since she was 8yrs old and cant imagine a better place to have grown up and live. She graduated from Hope College and then went on to the University of Michigan for her dental degree. Following dental school, she continued her education at the University of Tennessee. After 4 years of studying and working near the Smokey Mountains of Tennessee she returned to complete a Masters Degree in pediatric dentistry at the University of Michigan.
Dr. Port married her husband Patrick in 2014 and has a step daughter, Aubrie. She loves taking hikes with the family and their dog Kona. Traveling is a passion and she enjoys exploring the United States as well as cities around the world and experiencing new cultures.

We trully love this office. There so gentle, patience, sweet and great with kids. Dr. Port is always a fun and easy to talk to. My toddlers always have fun and are excited to go for their cleanings. Especially on Halloween day where they dressed up like minions and my kids trully thought that was so fun and cool. Thank you for placing a shiny smile on them.

Best dental experience my kids will ever have. Patient, friendly, and above all truly care for the kids. Both Dr. Port. And Nikki are excellent at their profession and client care. Would recommend to anyone, regardless of how far away they are.

It would be impossible to find a sweeter staff who cares more about your child than these guys,10/10 recommend! Such a happy, welcoming environment and the knowledge they have to make sure your kids have healthy teeth is amazing!!

Amazing place my 4 year old had to get a cavity filled not one tear during it all the staff are extremely friendly it's a very clean office and extremely kid friendly. I would highly recommend them we have a closer dentist office but if we ever need a pediatric dentist again we will be coming to see them.

Love them! All 3 of my children go there. One of my kids has autism and port is so patient and kind ,understanding. I will always recommend Port Pediatric Dentist .

Dr. Port and all staff has always been patient and kind with all my children. They are so great with kids, I wish I was a patient there when I was a kid. My son has had a few teeth issues, and he is never scared to come in, and always leaves with a smile. All my kids love to go to the dentist thanks to Dr. Port and this office. As a mom I appreciate all the care and concern they put into each visit.

All of the ladies there are absolutely AMAZING!! My kids LOVE it there. They cry if we have to reschedule an appointment. I HIGHLY recommend you bring your kids here!!

Everyone here speaks kid language and really listens to them. I have three kids that go here and one more going to go here when he gets teeth! My four year old told me ,as we pulled in, "I love going here!"

My kids actually get excited to go to the dentist now!!! We have been going a couple years now and highly recommend this office. We've had multiple hygienists/assistants and they have all been great. Very thorough and explain stuff to the kids in ways they understand. Make an appointment, you will be glad you did!

My son had a great experience at Port Pediatric Dentistry! Scheduling was very easy. All paperwork was done online. The staff were very friendly and the dentist was amazing at making my 2 year old feel comfortable! We would highly recommend.
