Being an orthodontist is the best way to combine my love for the sciences and detailed artistic creation. I get to work with individuals who are excited about transforming their lives by changing their smiles, and creating unique works of art that everyone can admire and enjoy.

Its an honor to be part of a persons journey for the short time theyre in treatment. Every day I meet new people, strengthen connections with established patients, and witness the growth and change of those in my care.

It is good to know that the smiles we accomplish have a positive effect on a person not only while in treatment, but in the future, contributing to their happiness and success. I love being an orthodontist and cannot imagine a more rewarding way to spend my days. Dr. Timothy Poppell

Dr. Poppell has brought together a team of experienced, compassionate individuals, each committed to making sure patients feel like part of a family. They are warm, welcoming, and strive to foster a fun and memorable experience for every patient.

Dr. Poppell attended the University of Florida. There he received his Doctorate of Dental Medicine (DMD) and was inducted into the National Dental Honor Society, Omicron Kappa Upsilon. He remained at the University of Florida, completing his orthodontic residency, and then established Poppell Orthodontics in the Debary area.

A large part of Dr. Poppells success, and that of his patients, is a due to his ongoing pursuit of continuing education. Through active participation in the St. Johns Orthodontic Study Club, he learns from and with his peers. Together, they share insights and experiences with various treatment modalities, discuss complex cases, and review new approaches to treatment.

A native of Tallahassee, Dr. Poppell now lives just down the interstate from the office, in Longwood, with his wife, Maggie. His daughter and her husband live in Maitland. When not creating smiles, Dr. Poppell enjoys golfing, though he says he doesnt play very well. Hes recently developed an interest in woodworking and Bonsais, too: he says its like wires and braces for plants!

We recognize that all of our patients are unique and deserve to receive orthodontic care that reflects their individual needs. Our experienced and talented team is committed to working with you and your family to create a comfortable, stress-free, and rewarding orthodontic experience every time you visit our practice.

After having braces in my teens, I always knew I wanted to work in the field of orthodontics. Making people smile everday couldn't feel more rewarding! From High School I immediately started school in Maitland in 2009 at Lincoln Tech. Following graduation in 2010, I received certificates in Dental Assisting, Dental Radiology, CPR and Expanded functions. Once I was given the opportunity to begin my career in this field I never looked back. Over the years also continuing my education earning my Certified Orthodontic Assistant Certification.I am a lucky mother of 3 children, 2 girls and 1 boy and married to a wonderful husband. We have a dog named Moana and a cat named Olaf. We are a Disney loving family, with our favorite past time's, rollerskating, traveling and spending time with my immediate and extended family all over the country.

Throughout theduration of my 28 yearsin the orthodontic field I have enjoyed seeing the transformation of smiles on patient's faces which has fueled my love for the profession to stay.Beingacertified orthodontic assistant has given me alot of experience and opportunity throughout the years. I am blessed to have a loving and supportive family including my wonderful husband Ronnie, a beautiful daughter, Savannah and two precious grandbaby twins, Kinley and Makenna whom we love and adore. Family time for us is what we enjoy the most and we spend as much time together as possible.

I graduated from Spruce Creek High School and earned my AA at Daytona State College. I joined Dr. Poppells office in 2001. This team, including Dr. Poppell, has become an extension of my family. I have many memories thanks to this job and will always be grateful for this experience. One of the things I like best about my job is having the pleasure of meeting new people and developing relationships that have lasted for many years. I enjoy networking with people of various walks of life and on many levels who have helped made a significant difference in my day to day routine.

Living in New Smyna Beach we live afun, relaxed lifestyle where myfiance Jason and I have a Chocolate Lab named Nala Belle and crazy rabbit, Ozzy. While enjoying the scenery is my first love, my second love is the gymhealthy living is definitely my way of life. Spending time with family and friends along with fine wine tops the cake!

I am a proud mother of three girls and married to a brave man who has served our country for 30 years. In my spare time, I enjoy cooking, baking, party planning, and spending quality time with my family who I love dearly.

Often, people start orthodontic treatment feeling self-conscious about their appearance. They tend to be withdrawn, uncomfortable in social situations, and hide their teeth by ducking their head or covering their mouth.

As treatment progresses, our patient begins to change. We see them walk taller, making eye contact and willingly engaging with others. The best day for us is when we see our patient smile unselfconsciously, broadcasting confidence and comfort with who they are.

Following your exam, Dr. Poppell will create your treatment plan. He recommends an efficient, comfortable approach that will soon have you sharing your new smile. Well review the plan with you, explaining whats involved, all options, and encouraging your questions. Then its up to you: no pressure and no upselling, just accessible information.
