From an early age, Dr. Poplin knew he wanted to be a dentist. His love for working with children came from his parents, who were both in education. Dr. Poplins mother was an elementary school special education teacher, and his father was his high school principal.
Dr. Poplin was raised in Kansas and attended the University of Kansas. During this time, he volunteered at his moms elementary school tutoring first and second graders as well as working with Habitat for Humanity and other volunteer organizations. After graduating from the University of Kansas with a B.A. in Biology, Dr. Poplin received his Doctorate in Dental Medicine from Temple University School of Dentistry in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
At Temple, Dr. Poplin was honored with serving as his senior class president. Twice as a student and once as a faculty member, Dr. Poplin was able to volunteer with the Haitian Health Foundation to provide dental care in the rural villages of Haiti. He continued his education with an additional two-year pediatric residency at St. Christophers Hospital for Children in Philadelphia while working in a private pediatric dental office.
Dr. Poplin has extensive training and experience in nitrous oxide, oral sedation, general anesthesia, and dental trauma. Dr. Poplin completed the rigorous process of both written and oral exams to become a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. Dr. Poplin excels at working with children who are extremely fearful as well as children with special needs.
As our Front Office Director, Dolores is involved in all aspects of dental insurance and coordination of treatment for our patients. She enjoys meeting and getting to know all our patients and working as part of such an amazing team of professionals.
Dolores graduated from Texas State and has been with our practice since 1988. She is a native of Lockhart, where she and her husband still live. Dolores has three grown children who all live close by and she enjoys spending time with them whenever she can.
Mary and her husband, Bobby, have six adult children between them. When they are not motorcycling through the hill country or enjoying the lake on their boat, they are visiting their grand babies all over Texas!
Jessica is originally from a small town in the Rio Grande Valley in South Texas. Jessica worked along side Dr.Poplin in the Rio Grande Valley for two years as a patient care coordinator before making the move to Austin and joining his amazing staff. In her free time she enjoys taking road trips, attending concerts, going out with friends and enjoying what the city has to offer.
Meet Andrea, an Arkansas native enjoying the Austin life. Andrea enjoys working with kids to keep their smiles bright and healthy and enjoys sharing great experiences with the kids. She always does her best to make sure everyone leaves with a smile and is happy to be a part of such a wonderful team. She loves experiencing all Austin has to offer, from hiking and sight seeing, to great eats and using her talent for photography to capture all of her adventures.
Holly is married and has two little boys. She also has two spoiled dogs and a cat. In her spare time, Holly enjoys many hobbies from reading and crafts to home improvement projects and gardening. Her favorite thing to do is spending time with her family and hunting at their hill country ranch.
