Blake earned a bachelors degree in Health and Wellness Promotion from UNC Asheville and an Associates in Dental Hygiene from Asheville Buncombe Technical Community College. In August 2019, Blake joined the Pope Family Dentistry Team as a full time hygienist. Blake has a passion for working with people and building lasting relationships with her patients. She aims to support her patients in optimizing their oral health, while also creating a friendly and trusting dental environment. In her free time, Blake enjoys spending time rock climbing and traveling with her husband, Jason, and their 4 year old Shih Tzu, Oscar.
Tammy has been in dentistry for 38 years and at this practice for 20 years. She was in a health occupations program while in high school, and it was during this time that she discovered a passion for dentistry. She graduated from the Dental Assisting program at Alamance Community College. She chose dentistry as a profession in order to serve people in a positive manner and to make them smile. Tammy is married and has two children. She enjoys the beach and spending time with her family.
Shanda has over 12 years of experience as a chair side dental assistant. She is originally from Knoxville, TN and moved to Greensboro to join the team at Pope Family Dentistry. She has worked with Dr. Pope for over 6 years as his dental assistant. She is a free spirit and loves to laugh and smile. She also has a strong passion for dentistry and always makes sure her patients receive the best experience possible. She loves to make personal connections with her patients, which eases their dental anxiety and makes for a great dental experience.
Melinda started dental assisting in 2005 after completing the Dental Assisting program at Forsyth Tech. As a dental assistant, her goal is to make sure patients feel comfortable throughout their visit. She enjoys getting to know her patients and building a close rapport with them. When Melinda is not at work, she enjoys spending time with her husband and son.
A North Carolina native, Dr. Pope was born and raised in Huntersville, NC. Dr. Pope attended North Carolina State University, where he earned a bachelors degree in Biological Sciences. He then went on to earn his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree at Marquette University School of Dentistry. As a lifelong learner, he enjoys attending continuing education events on a variety of dental topics. He has attended many courses at the Spear Dental Education Center to ensure he is providing his patients with the latest and best dental care.
He is excited to make Greensboro his home and get involved in the community. He enjoys spending time with his wife Tori who just gave birth to Dr. Popes first child Henry, and playing with his dogs, Carter and Talley In his downtime, he likes to hit the golf course, travel, go fishing and attend sporting events.

Dr. Pope and his team are wonderful! I had quite a bit of anxiety prior to my tooth extraction today due to a poor experience at another local dental office recently, but the procedure ended up being quick, painless, and affordable too! Dr. Pope and Shanda were both incredibly kind, caring and patient during my visit. Shanda took the time to answer all my questions and explain post op care to me. The entire staff made me feel welcomed, comfortable, and they eased any anxiety or fears I've had regarding dental work. Pope Family Dentistry is by far the best dental office I have ever been to and I look forward to my next visit!

Dr. Pope and Shanda were very professional and friendly. I required a crown, a couple of replacement fillings, and fitting for a night guard. All of these issues were addressed in a single visit! The office has the equipment to fabricate dental appliances like crowns onsite. This eliminates the need for follow-up visits, which is very convenient.

I have to say I absolutely felt like a part of the Pope family after coming here and will be making them my regular dentist. Not only was I having issues with my insurance which they assisted me in navigating but they also helped correct dental concerns I have had for a long time. My first root canal and also a crown where done here. The root canal was near painless and in fact the healing is a bigger discomfort than the procedure was. On top of being so personable and professional they have gone above and beyond with investing in the overall care of their patient's with state-of-the-art tech imaging and same day dental technology. Plus I was allowed to see my crown be made which I highly was thrilled about. I would recommend Pope Family Dentistry to anyone I knew who wanted fast, reliable, and kind work done. 5/5 would recommend!

Yes! Yes. And Yes! This is definitely the Dental office to go to. The staff are amazing and so friendly. Dr.Pope takes time to get to know his patients and remembers things about them. All that on top of excellent high quality dental work. I also like how they take the time to explain to you what's happening and what your options are. All the staff deserve a raise. I've worked with Shanda and Melinda specifically and they definitely do but the entire staff does an excellent job! I highly recommend making your next appointment with Dr. Pope and his team.

I always have a pleasant experience at Pope Family Dentistry. Today Dr Pope made crowns for 4 teeth in one sitting, and the entire procedure was completed without pain. His assistant made sure I was comfortable at all times and did a great job matching the color of the new crowns to my natural teeth. The entire staff is friendly, helpful and welcoming.

After my previous dentist retired I had my first visit with Pope Family Dentistry. I couldn't be more happy with the experience. I was very impressed with the state-of-the-art technologies being used. Blake was tremendous and did a fantastic job of explaining in detail everything she was doing throughout the entire process. I have sensitive gums and after the numbing gel was applied I didn't feel a thing! Dr. Pope was very thorough and presented some options that I had not previously considered. I'm very happy to be at Pope Family now and highly recommend them.

Dr. Pope has replaced three of my silver fillings with crowns. He is gentle. His staff is professional. The office has been updated with new equipment including making crowns in-house! I am at ease when I am there! It is an overall pleasant experience!

This is probably the most welcoming/friendly health care establishment I've ever been to. The staff are all so friendly and accommodating. I usually get service from Tammy, she has great interpersonal skills and she also gets me in and out! Dr. Pope is the best as well.. I couldn't ask for a better dentistry option.
