Blake earned a bachelors degree in Health and Wellness Promotion from UNC Asheville and an Associates in Dental Hygiene from Asheville Buncombe Technical Community College. In August 2019, Blake joined the Pope Family Dentistry Team as a full time hygienist. Blake has a passion for working with people and building lasting relationships with her patients. She aims to support her patients in optimizing their oral health, while also creating a friendly and trusting dental environment. In her free time, Blake enjoys spending time rock climbing and traveling with her husband, Jason, and their 4 year old Shih Tzu, Oscar.
Tammy has been in dentistry for 38 years and at this practice for 20 years. She was in a health occupations program while in high school, and it was during this time that she discovered a passion for dentistry. She graduated from the Dental Assisting program at Alamance Community College. She chose dentistry as a profession in order to serve people in a positive manner and to make them smile. Tammy is married and has two children. She enjoys the beach and spending time with her family.
Shanda has over 12 years of experience as a chair side dental assistant. She is originally from Knoxville, TN and moved to Greensboro to join the team at Pope Family Dentistry. She has worked with Dr. Pope for over 6 years as his dental assistant. She is a free spirit and loves to laugh and smile. She also has a strong passion for dentistry and always makes sure her patients receive the best experience possible. She loves to make personal connections with her patients, which eases their dental anxiety and makes for a great dental experience.
Melinda started dental assisting in 2005 after completing the Dental Assisting program at Forsyth Tech. As a dental assistant, her goal is to make sure patients feel comfortable throughout their visit. She enjoys getting to know her patients and building a close rapport with them. When Melinda is not at work, she enjoys spending time with her husband and son.
A North Carolina native, Dr. Pope was born and raised in Huntersville, NC. Dr. Pope attended North Carolina State University, where he earned a bachelors degree in Biological Sciences. He then went on to earn his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree at Marquette University School of Dentistry. As a lifelong learner, he enjoys attending continuing education events on a variety of dental topics. He has attended many courses at the Spear Dental Education Center to ensure he is providing his patients with the latest and best dental care.
He is excited to make Greensboro his home and get involved in the community. He enjoys spending time with his wife Tori who just gave birth to Dr. Popes first child Henry, and playing with his dogs, Carter and Talley In his downtime, he likes to hit the golf course, travel, go fishing and attend sporting events.
