Dr. Jason Chawla is a Louisiana native raised on the Northshore. He is a graduate of Northshore High School and attended Tulane University in New Orleans where he completed his Bachelor of Science in Public Health and Tropical Medicine. Dr. Chawla also attended Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge for graduate coursework in finance and biochemistry. Following LSU, Dr. Chawla attended Lake Erie College of Medicine - School of Dental Medicine in Sarasota, FL, where he completed his Doctorate of Dental Medicine.
After graduation, Dr. Chawla wanted to return to Louisiana to make an impact in his local community. In a time where corporate dentistry is replacing the traditional dentist-owned and operated practices, he believes in bringing back the relationship-driven care that Louisiana patients want, and deserve. He takes his time with every patient and works with them to find the best solutions for their individual dental needs.
When Dr. Chawla isn't practicing dentistry he enjoys spending time with his soon-to-be wife, Alison, and their two rescued dogs, Cooper and Layla. Most weekends you'll find him either outdoors fishing, traveling, or at a Saints/LSU football game. Who dat?!
Dr. Deacon was born and raised in Mobile, Alabama and graduated from the University of South Alabama with a degree in biomedical sciences. After graduating from University of South Alabama, he attended Lake Erie College of Medicine- School of Dental Medicine in Bradenton, FL.; where he completed his Doctorate of Dental Medicine. After practicing for a number of years in a busy practice in Pensacola, FL, he decided to move to Louisiana and join the practice with fellow classmate Dr. Chawla. When not at the dental office, Dr. Deacon enjoys Brazillian Jiu jitsu, comedy, and trivia!
Tristan graduated from the University of Louisiana at Monroe in 2015 with a B.S. in dental hygiene and began working with Dr. Schenck that same year. She takes pride in building personal relationships with my patients, always making their comfort a priority. She recently married in 2017.
Laurn was born in Crystal Springs, Mississippi. She moved to Louisiana in 2015 with her husband Christopher. Laurn is EDDA certified dental assistant and has been assisting since 2011. She enjoys working with and building relationships with patients. Laurn enjoys spending time with family and friends and photography.
Leslie graduated from Louisiana State University in 2006 with a bachelor's degree in dental hygiene. In her spare time, Leslie enjoys spending time with her husband, her daughter River, and her two dogs. Leslie likes to dance, sing karaoke, and travel. She enjoys taking care of her patients and helping them understand that a healthy mouth can lead to a healthy life.

Professional and friendly staff that takes the extra step to make their clients have a pleasant experience! The dentist is one of my biggest fears and when I tell you the entire staff made me feel completely comfortable! The facility is really clean. The The receptionist Candy is so sweet! Highly recommend this office! Staff and Dr's are very professional not to mention the office is very clean and well organized. Staff was very knowledgeable and extremely nice and professional. Dr was very conservative as well. My Hygienist Carley was very GENTLE and extremely thorough.

Definitely recommend! I came here for a second opinion and was seen the same day. I went to a dentist in Covington bc I chipped my front tooth, they seen me and sent me on my way with a bunch of work they said I needed ASAP. I left that office with a chipped tooth and over $2k worth of treatment they said I needed. With that being said as I received my 2nd opinion with Pontchartrain dental I got my tooth fixed and discovered I was given an unnecessary treatment plan from the other office I was shocked! I didn't need the root canal or crowns they said I needed asap. Wish I would have found this office 1st. Love the staff and Dr they were very confident and concerned regarding my treatment. Very conservative and professional! I'll be back for my cleaning in October!!!!!!!

Great experience! I highly recommend this Dental practice. The Doctor and his staff are very compassionate and very professional/knowledgeable. I have never been so comfortable in a dental practice. I left 5 stars because 10 wasn't an option!

It seemed great at first until I got a filling and it came out a month later! I went back to get it replaced, and that one came out another 6 weeks later and was charged yet again!! Come to find out I actually needed a root canal on said tooth and was quoted $438 because of the trouble. As I was attempting to schedule the procedure they then told me it needed to be outsourced, so obviously I had to pay full price for the root canal as well as the crown... all on the same tooth!! I can be very understanding and am very easy to work with but one thing I can not tolerate is rudeness!! The receptionist (Candi) is one of the rudest and most unprofessional people I have ever met!

I will say that I was very pleased with my experience at Pontchartrain dental. Upon returning to Mandeville for my fall semester at LSUHSC, I experienced a nasty broken tooth the day before classes started and I was able to get in the same day. After examining the extent of my problem, I received the best quality care I have experienced with a dental office and will be returning for future care. Dr. Chawla understood my circumstances and the impact the tooth would place on beginning a new semester. In less than a few hours, I was checked out with a brand new spectacular crown. Also, I am very thankful for Dr. Chawla and the amazing work he did for me in a short amount of time and with the crunch of a busy workload.
