Dan played football here for the Griz at the position of wide receiver. He was able to balance the difficult pre-dental curriculum as a student athlete and complete his degree. While preparing for admission to dental school, Dan served as the Youth Sports Director at the Missoula Family YMCA from 2009-2011. Upon acceptance to dental school, Dan attended the well-respected University of Pacific Dental School in San Francisco. Dr. Dan graduated from Dental School with honors in 2014. He was member of the Tau Kappa Omega honor society by graduating in the top 15% of his class. Following Dental School, Dr. Dan pursued additional training in cosmetic dentistry, orthodontics (Invisalign), oral surgery, & endodontics to further his skill set. Dan has been working in private practice in western Montana for 6 years. He is a member of the American Dental Association, Montana Dental Association, and Three Rivers Study Club.
When not working, Dan and his wife Rachel enjoy spending time in the great outdoors fly fishing, hunting, hiking and skiing. They have two young children, Ivy & Gavin. Both Montana natives, Dan & Rachel are happy to call Missoula home and raise their family in this great community.
Kelly has brightened many smiles since starting at Ponderosa Dental in 2011 as a Registered Dental Hygienist with endorsements in local anesthesia. She was raised in Missoula and received her degree from Montana State University Great Falls. At Ponderosa she feels privileged to work with an excellent group of team members who set the gold standard in patient care. When she is outside the office, Kelly enjoys ice fishing, golfing, cooking, and watching football. Kelly and her husband Taylor currently enjoy raising their two young children.
Donica is excited to be a team member at Ponderosa Dental as a Registered Dental Hygienist with endorsements in local anesthesia. She was raised in small town Roy, Montana. She received her Bachelor of Dental Hygiene from the University of Wyoming. She is driven and eager to continue her career here at Ponderosa Dental. When she is not working, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends doing anything active.
Bridget is thrilled to join the Ponderosa Dental team as a Registered Dental Hygienist with endorsements in local anesthesia. She grew up in Florence, Montana and received her degree from Montana State University Great Falls. She is excited to join the innovative team at Ponderosa Dental and looks forward to sharing her knowledge with patients. When not in the dental office, she enjoys spending time with her husband and four kids. They like adventuring outside whether its camping, skiing, biking, hiking or floating the river.
Karmella (also known as Karl) began her career in dental over nine years ago and quickly realized she had a passion for assisting. Around the office, she is known for her spunky personality, strong work ethic, and excellent problem-solving skills. When shes not working, she enjoys spending time with her boyfriend, going camping with friends, crafting, and trying different breweries in town.
Aarika grew up in Kalispell and was practically raised in a dental office; her mom is an assistant as well! She has been with our office for over two years and is known for her sweet, caring personality and a strong dedication to her patients. When out of the office, she loves to go fishing, hunting, and spend time with friends and family.
Eryn is a born and raised Missoulian with over twelve years of customer service experience and a passion for working with people. When she isnt in the office she enjoys spending time hiking, hunting, baking, and playing at the lake with her husband and three young children.
A native Oregonian, Angie has lived in Missoula for 7 years. She enjoys fishing, camping, cooking, reading, hanging out with family & friends, and many sports. She is a huge Seattle Seahawk fan. Angie has worked in the dental industry for 5 years and enjoys helping patients achieve their dental goals.

As someone who is terrified of the dentist and admittedly long overdue for an exam I cannot express how comfortable and pleasant my experience was. The nurse Erica was sunshine personified and Dr. McFarland made sure to answer my various questions while not making me feel dumb/rushed out the door. Additionally, I was super impressed with how transparent their pricing was and just cannot say enough good things about the entire experience!!!

Ponderosa Dental Group saved my life! I was in severe pain and I was able to get care right away. Dr. Dan and his team were able to schedule me last minute and made me feel right at home. In one of the scariest times of my life, his staff went over and beyond to make sure I was getting the professional help I needed. During surgery, I was no longer afraid and knew I was in good hands. They made sure I was not in any discomfort and told me every detail of the extraction. I highly recommend Ponderosa Dental Group. I cannot wait to go back for all my dental care!
