Jerrold Hennes, DDS, MSD My pursuit to create beautiful, confidence-building smiles started as a young man growing up in Southern California when I became very interested in the field of orthodontics in high school.I started working in orthodontic laboratories, creating dental models, retainers, and expanders for orthodontists. I continued this for five summers while attending undergraduate school at Chapman College in Orange, California. I graduated magna cum laude with a dual degree in chemistry and biology. I then attended the UCLA School of Dentistry. After completing the program at UCLA, I was able to pursue my passion of becoming an orthodontic specialist. I completed my specialty training at the University of Washington. Seattle was a wonderful city butI longed to move back to sunny Southern California.

In 1988, I started my first orthodontic practice in Carlsbad, California, which I later moved to Vista, California. Five years later, my second office to serve the Poway area opened.I obtained board certification and became a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics in 1998, a distinction only held by 25% of the orthodontists nationally. Almost 30 years later, I continue to have a wonderful experience with my patients and team every day.

When I am not practicing orthodontics, I enjoy spending time with my wife and two girls. On the weekends, you can usually find me riding my bicycle on the coast highway or on the horse trails of North San Diego County. I also enjoy playing tennis and swimming.

ChrisTreatment Coordinator Chris is married to Mike and has four children (Michelle, Julie, Mike, Joe), two sons-in-law (Mike, Brad), and five grandchildren (Sarah, Gaby, Meghan, Matthew, Parker). Chris has enjoyed working in the orthodontic field since 1975, joining our team in 2001. As Treatment Coordinator, she facilitates our new patients when they begin their orthodontic treatment. She loves seeing our patients excitement as they begin their journey in orthodontics on the way to a healthy, beautiful smile in a relative short period of time.

JulieOffice Manager Julie was born and raised in the Carlsbad/Oceanside area. She is married to Brad and has a son named Parker. She has worked with Dr. Jerrold Hennes since 1996. The greatest part about Julies job is she gets to build relationships with the patients and their families as they achieve their ideal smiles. In her spare time, Julie enjoys watching movies, reading, traveling, and spending time with her family and friends.

Meaghan-Dental Assistant Meaghan has been born and raised in the Carlsbad/Oceanside area. She enjoys meeting new patients and helping them on their journey to a better smile. In her spare time Meaghan enjoys hanging out with family and friends along with helping people decorate their homes with plants.

Gaby Dental Assistant Gaby was born and raised in Carlsbad, CA. She has two sisters (Meaghan and Sarah) and a younger brother ( Matthew). She has been working in the Vista and Poway offices since August 2017. Gabys favorite part of her job is seeing everyones smile when they finish with treatment. In her spare time, she enjoys hanging out with her family and friends, playing with animals, watching movies and going to concerts.

Dr. Jerrold Hennes is a diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics and is a certified specialist by the American Association of Orthodontics. He has been creating beautiful smiles in North San Diego County for more than 25 years, and has been published in theAmerican Journal of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedicsand theJournal of Orthognathic Surgery. All treatment options are explored with each patient by Dr. Jerrold Hennes, which allows well thought-out treatment decisions based on sound orthodontic principles. These include orthodontics utilizing dentofacial orthopedics and orthognathic surgery when necessary. Dr. Jerrold Hennes has been producing orthodontic appliances since he was in high school, which brings additional knowledge to the treatment planning process.Dr. Jerrold Hennes schedules time to personally see all patients at each visit.

Our highly skilled team attends continuing education courses regularly to learn the newest technologies and procedures in orthodontics. Combined, our team has more than one hundred years of experience in the dental field that we pass on through our treatment and business philosophies.

Our team uses all digital imaging, computerized cephalometry, and digital X-rays for our in-house records. We provide excellent diagnosis while saving our patients time with 70% less radiation exposure. We are one of the few offices in the nation that produce over 90% of the orthodontic appliances we utilize. Our brackets are never recycled and are proudly made in America. Our sterilization techniques far exceed the standard set by the CDC and OSHA, and all instruments are sealed before sterilization and are not opened until ready to use at chairside. We utilize Align Technologies software to the fullest to obtain exceptional Invisalign results.

Both locations have been designed and built by Dr. Jerrold Hennes specifically for orthodontics. They display his passion for collecting and sharing with his patients. The Vista location houses the extensive comic book art and superhero collection, and the Poway location houses movie memorabilia and an animation cel collection, many with original signatures. Both have a full-size arcade, set on free play, for the enjoyment of all. We continually have contests and games throughout the year to engage our patients. Our reception area offers complimentary Wi-Fi, a coffee bar, and has popular movies licensed to play throughout the day.
