Family Dentistry of Columbus is proud to serve the Columbus, GA area with professional dental services. It was started by Dr. Marlon Murrell, DMD whose goal was to provide comprehensive dental care to Columbus and Phenix City patients. He founded Family Dentistry of Columbus with the goal of providing great dentistry in the most comfortable dental environment possible to patients age 3 and up. As time went on, his dental business grew and he was able to expand those same great efforts to even more patients, eventually needing more dentists who shared his same ideals. That was the basis that Family Dentistry of Columbus was founded upon, and those same ideals hold true today.
Since day one, we continue to work under those same founding points of providing great dental care and always, always putting our patients first. With our values in place, we strive to provide you with the best dental care possible. We are proud to serve the communities of Columbus, GA, Fort Benning, and Phenix City Village in Alabama.
After working in private practice for two years in Statesboro, Georgia, Dr. Polk joined Dr. Marlon Murrell here at Family Dentistry of Columbus in August of 1998. For over 20 years, he has continued to provide detailed dental care to the people of Columbus and beyond.
Dr. Polk is an expert in the dentistry field and values each and every patient who goes through his practice. He ensures top-notch dental services and will stop at nothing to make sure the patients in which he is working with are comfortable with their services. Dr. Polk treats his patients like family and truly cares for each individuals dental health.
Dr. Thomas Parker is originally from Americus, Georgia, where he graduated from Southland Academy. From there he earned his Bachelor of Business Degree, with a major in Finance, from Georgia Southwestern State University. He also attended Columbus State University where he completed his dental school prerequisites.
Dr. Parker joined Family Dentistry of Columbus in 2008. His experience and knowledge in the field of dentistry have established him as an excellent dentist. His attention to detail and attentiveness to dental care have made him a trusted dental expert among our team. He spends ample time with his patients and helps to ensure each person gets the treatment and service they deserve. He values quality over quantity and assures that he is doing his best work with each and every patient.

This was my first time visiting Dr. Polk and it was wonderful. you can tell everyone there is so nice and patient. They helped me get my new patient paperwork filled out and were all so warm and welcoming....even at 8 am lol... I loved everyone that I met and look forward to my next visit.

Everyone is always so friendly! I feel like I am part of the family (lol Family Dentist!) when I every time I go in. They also ask me how I have been and remember what I do and follow up with the latest on what I told them during my last visit.

I love Dr. Polk and his staff. He is such a nice person. His staff is great and helpful. Dr. Polk treats every patient like they're a part of his family. I have never met a nicer person and the perk is he is also a Dentist.

Dr. Parker was patient and willing to listen to my history of jaw and teeth issues. Took the time to assess my needs and explained everything. The ladies in the office were very friendly and helpful also. Look forward to a long association with them for my future dental needs.

You guys were Great!! I had a "Thought emergency" the night before and Dr Jay Made time to see me, even though I'm Not a Current patient! I've known Dr Jay a Long time. Fine Christian man, as is Dr Parker who was also Great! Both Very thorough And accommodating!!!! The Assistants And Staff Just as Warm and attentive!!! The staff are very pleasant, courteous, and professional. Dental hygienist Kelli makes the cleaning visits so easy and comfortable, she's friendly kind. Dr Polk is absolutely the best dentist I have ever had. I have had a fear of dentists for years. After moving to the Columbus area his office was recommended so I made my appointment. I explained my fear to him and he understood. From my first visit to date I've never regretted my appointment. Dr Polk gives his patients his total attention explains what he's doing and why. He makes sure his patients feel comfortable and I actually look forward to my next appointment. Great dentist and staff.
