Dr. Julie Leslie was born and raised in Springfield, Missouri. After completing her bachelors degree at the University of Missouri-Kansas City, she attended dental school here as well and received her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree. She and her husband moved to St. Louis afterwards and have resided here ever since.
Dr. Leslie enjoys practicing general dentistry with a passion for providing excellent patient care in the community and making a difference in the lives of her patients. She continues to stay involved in current dental trends through continuing education courses, as well as being an active member of the American Dental Association, the Missouri Dental Association, and local St. Louis chapters.
After the local Chrysler plant closed in 2009 Danette found herself looking for a new beginning. She made the transition into the dental field by attending and graduating, with honors and on the Deans list, from Missouri College. From there she continued her education and received her CDA and Expanded Functions.
Her current role of Office Manager, just made sense to Danette. She believes being able to continually improve and learn in all aspects of dentistry, as it is always evolving, is very exciting. Being able to discuss with patients on a personal level what is truly best for them to be in optimal oral health is very rewarding for Danette. She greatly enjoys the relationships she is able to build with patients.
In her free time, she likes to spend as much time as possible with her son, Brayden, who is currently away at college. Danette also loves to ride her bicycle with a goal of one day doing a century ride She asks that if you see her on the road, not to run her over!
Stephanie started her dental career in 1996 as a Dental Assistant/ Scheduling Coordinator before furthering her education in 2002 becoming a Registered Dental Hygienist. She enjoys connecting with her patients and educating them on their oral health and how it correlates with their overall health. Stephanie enjoys time spent with her Fianc, daughter, dog, and cats. She likes to play kickball, watch her daughter play softball, traveling, volunteering, and watching movies.

I was a patient of Dr Atchison for probably 15 years. I went for my checkup and cleaning every 6 months religiously. This was my first visit under the new ownership and I won't be returning. The hygienist said I had significant bone loss, something Dr A never mentioned, and that I would need a deep cleaning. This of course would cost me $300 out of pocket and required 2 more visits. They didn't even do my cleaning today, said that would have to be done on a 3rd visit after the deep clean. I came in for simple check up and cleaning but wasted an hour to basically get a quote for a procedure I don't need.

Had my first visit with the staff at Polished Dentistry today. Everyone was professional, courteous, and made my visit very pleasant. Dr. Layne was kind and informative about my needs. Plan to return for treatment next month. Highly recommend if you need dental services.

Lamentably, nothing at all like the cozy home-like atmosphere of Dr. Atchison's office. From dentistry banners to new 3D scanners to room renovations, to gutting the TVs from the old office which made you feel at ease, it all makes you wonder just how much of your bill is being devoted to tooth health and how much is going to modernize this clinic. No thank you.

Because this was my first visit --a check-up and cleaning -- and because I have been with my previous dentist for decades and found him wonderful in every way, I hope I will be asked again for my evaluation when I have had longer experience with Polished Dentistry. That being said, every person I had contact with was extremely friendly, entirely professional, and seemed to care about my experience in their office. On the basis of this single experience, I was pleased.

SAD that a dentist who retired from his life long practice would be duped into turning over said practice to this group SAD that all of his loyal staff would leave when the new practice took over SAD that the hygienist who evidently knows as much as a their dentist, told me the previous group was preforming shoddy dental work. In fact she wouldn't clean my teeth, said I needed to be sedated and given a deep cleaning and to do a regular 6 month cleaning would be unethical. The previous dentist was Dr James Atchison and he really truly thought he was doing right by his patients and staff. I'm sorry Dr A. I am now seeing Dr Fasanella and she is absolutely wonderful. Told me I didn't need a deep cleaning and in fact has gotten quite a few new patients that had been with Atchison Family Dental.
