As dental providers at Polished Dental Care, Doctors Greco and Shaffer's primary goal is to provide comprehensive, quality dentistry, in a relaxed, low-stress environment. Dr. Greco and Dr. Shaffer strive to listen to their patients concerns and put patients at ease by taking the time to answer their questions. They feel it is extremely important to involve their patients in the treatment planning process to create a plan centered on each patients individual needs.
Dr. Lauren A. Greco, a native of Long Island, graduated from Stony Brook University in 2008 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. Dr. Greco earned her Doctorate of Dental Medicine degree at Boston University, where she graduated Magna Cum Laude. Upon graduation Dr. Greco received recognition for her volunteer service, clinical proficiency, and leadership abilities.
Dr. Greco completed a two-year residency program at Stony Brook Medical Center, where she served as a Chief Resident in her second year. Her additional training focused on treatment of advanced cases in fixed prosthodontics and implant dentistry. Dr. Greco is now a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of General Dentistry at the Stony Brook University School of Dental Medicine and currently teaches in the General Practice Residency program.
In her spare time, Dr. Greco enjoys traveling, practicing yoga, weight training with her personal fitness coach, (who also happens to be her husband!) and relaxing with family and friends in Long Beach.
Dr. Michael Shaffer graduated from the University of Buffalo summa cum laude with a Bachelors of Science in Biochemical Pharmacology. He continued his education, receiving his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from SUNY at Stony Brook, School of Dental Medicine in 2012. As a dental student, Dr. Shaffer served on the admissions committee for prospective students. After dental school, Dr. Shaffer completed a one-year General Practice Residency at Stony Brook and an additional year of training to provide IV sedation for dental procedures. Dr. Shaffer currently serves as an Associate Clinical Professor at the Touro School of Dental Medicine in the Department of General Dentistry.
With Dr. Shaffer's training, he is well-versed in treating phobic patients, children, adults, and those with special needs. His further education and training in the utilization of a dental microscope, sedation, surgery and pediatrics allow him to deliver all phases of care to his patients. As a member of the American Dental Association and the local dental society, he continues to keep abreast the new technology and innovations in the field.
Dr. Sepideh Shaffer received her undergraduate degree from New York University where she graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelors of Arts in Psychology. She earned her Doctorate of Dental Surgery degree from Stony Brook University School of Dental Medicine receiving awards for leadership, outreach, and academic excellence.
Dr. Shaffer continued her dental training as a general practice resident at Stony Brook University Hospital and was selected as Chief Resident. In this subsequent year of training, Dr. Shaffer focused on complex prosthodontic cases including full-mouth implant dentistry. Dr. Shaffer currently serves as Clinical Assistant Professor at the Stony Brook University School of Dental Medicine in the Department of General Dentistry
She is experienced in all aspects of dentistry and is a member of the American Dental Association, the New York State Dental Association, & the Suffolk County Dental Association. She has also volunteered providing care to under served communities in Virginia, West Virginia, Kentucky, Tennessee, and South Dakota.

Today was my first visit and I was beyond impressed. The entire staff was so friendly and accommodating. I don't think I waited even 3 minutes before heading in for my cleaning which was so gentle and thorough. Dr. Greco took great care in speaking with me and addressing any and all of my questions. I will never go anywhere else.

I literally walked from the reception area to the chair to have my x-rays taken upon walking in the office. Once done with my scans, it was a short wait until Dr.Greco came in. Not before being greeted by Dr.Shaffer who looked over my scans and talked cars with me. He briefed Dr.Greco on what he saw as she finished up her previous patient. All in all, this was the most pleasant visit I've had at any doctors office. Highly recommend you use their practice.

My experience at Polished Dental care was amazing from start to finish. I received a friendly greeting and was seen very quickly and efficiently. Your dental hygienist Caroline was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. Best of all, Dr. Shaffer was honest, friendly, and made me feel very comfortable! I will definitely be recommending this practice to all my family and friends!

Dr. Greco is not only a phenomenal dentist. She is a person of great integrity and character. I am attorney who rents in the same office building as her (and also a very happy patient). Most recently a client of mine lost a 15k settlement check---making the situation worse he informed me that he informed the check. Upon hearing this news I ran back to my office in a panic. I opened the door and the check was slipped under the door, with a note from Dr. Greco indicating she found it in the parking lot. The world needs more people like Dr. Greco. Gifted in her dentistry and superb in character

I called over 21 dentists for my 90yr old mother to have a broken bridge fixed. Dr. Schaefer's office was the only office to call me back for a next day appt. He & his staff were so kind. Dr. Schaefer was so gentle with my Mum. He went out of his way to fix Mum's bridge so she could celebrate her 91st birthday that week. He offered several solutions to repair her teeth. This is the kind of treatment we need more of. I'm going to start working with Polished Dental Care as well. BRAVO! THIS IS THE KIND OF PROFESSIONAL STAFF YOU WANT!

Most meticulous cleaning by Caroline. Clean office, great doctors. I searched years for a dental office that was as professional and thorough as Polished Dental. They really took the appropriate time to explain options without selling products. Finally found my permanent dental office.

Dr. Shaeffer was great. He explained everything. He was so down to earth. He made me feel comfortable. I'm always fearful of going to the dentist but he was so simple and caring. The staff was so welcoming. I'm switching from my old dentist to this place!!!
