When I was four, if you had asked what I wanted to be when I grew up, my response would have been a cheerleading doctor. I received pom-poms and the game Operation for my Christmas present that year. In eighth grade, the question arose again in Career Explorations class at Grace Christian School. My interests were dentist, orthodontist, or second grade teacher. As a pediatric dentist, I get to be a little bit of all of them dentist, teacher, cheerleader. Its a perfect fit and amazing to me that I get to do what I love so much everyday.
My own dental journey was not the easiest. Several of my baby teeth refused to fall out on their own and required extractions. I was born without two adult teeth and would receive two dental implants after several preparatory surgeries and six years of braces in my teens. I loved every part of the process. My pediatric dentist, Dr. Marie English, made dentistry safe and easy and comfortable. She set the foundation and taught me to take great pride in caring for my teeth. I hope to be able to provide the same nurturing environment for my own patients.
I was born and raised in Anchorage, Alaska and am so proud to call this state home. I went to Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin for undergraduate and dental school studies. My first job out of school was at a community health center in Kenosha, Wisconsin After almost a year, one marriage proposal, and a growing desire for more dental training, I sought and was accepted to an Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency program in Juneau, Alaska. My new husband, Matthew, and I took advantage of a year full of adventures watching the humpback whales bubble feed in Auke Bay and avoiding black bears as we hiked to Mendenhall Glacier. My favorite working days were those I spent with children.
My early dream of being a cheerleading doctor/dentist took root again. I decided to pursue a pediatric dental residency. While working through the application process, I returned home to Anchorage and worked with Drs. Phil and Lara Mabry as a general dentist. I was then accepted and completed a two year pediatric dentistry program at the Alaska Native Medical Center in 2015.
Pediatric dentists are Kids Dentists, who have finished a specialized course of dentistry focusing on children who have special needs or need more gentle care. Pediatric dentists complete two to three years of further training after finishing dental school. The training is very thorough and includes hospital training.

I was anxious to take my 1.5 year old son in for his first dental visit. I was put to ease by meeting the staff and Dr. Walsh. They were all so kind and took time to explain how I can help my son with his dental hygiene. He got a rubber ducky and a token for the toy dispenser and left as one happy kid.

We love Dr. Walsh. She makes taking our children to the dentist very easy and comfortable. When she moved to her own office, we made sure to follow her. Her new office is family friendly and I love that my husband, both my kids, and myself can all be in the same room. If you are looking for a dentist that will help your child feel secure and take away any fear they have, Dr. Walsh and her amazing staff are the place to go.

Absolutely Amazing! Loved the staff, they were all so kind! The dentist is an amazing person! Made myself feel comfortable and made my son feel comfortable and happy! All dentist should be like this one!

Dr. Walsh and her staff have helped my daughter overcome her fear of dentists despite having six teeth pulled. The welcoming environment as well as their pediatric expertise are second to none and I highly recommend Polar Bear Dental Care for any parents struggling to get their kids to care about their teeth :)

Dr. Walsh has been a pleasure to have as my child's dentist! She speaks directly to the child very kindly and helps them feel as comfortable as possible. I've had a few pediatric dentists for my other children over the years and Dr. Walsh has been my favorite.

Dr. Walsh is amazing to say the least. My four year old is not a fan of the dentist, let alone getting work done but Dr. Walsh and her assistant Selena was able to remove a problem tooth with NO PROBLEM, NO TEARS and she wants to go back! I truly recommend this office for children!

Dr.Walsh and her staff are great. My youngest had some dental complications from delayed maintenance, I blame covid! Our dentist had to refer us to Dr.Walsh because my little one didn't handle the work easily and needed to use anesthesia . Dr.Walsh was very understanding, quick to help us get the issue resolved, and has great bed side manor for kids. She followed up and gave us lots of education on preventing issues in the future.

Her care has always been exemplary and she takes the time to get to know each of her patients. My kids love her! Dr. Allie is incredibly thoughtful and gentle, as well as technically skilled. My children are, honestly, really excited to go see her. We love her. Additionally, the office's Covid-era health and safety protocols are superb, and much appreciated.
