Dr. Tyler Peterschmidt joined the team at Jenson Family Dental inJune 2018 after practicing for four years in a combination of private practice and public health dentistry. He attended Oregon State University and graduated in 2010 with a degree in general science.
When Dr. Tyler graduated from Oregon Health Sciences University, School of Dentistry in 2014, he promptly moved to Eugene to begin his dental career. Hehas come to call Eugene home and looks forward to building life-long relationships with his patients and the community. He is very passionate about providing quality dental care while creating a warm and welcoming environment.
Dr. Tyler participates in a variety of activities and hobbies to keep him occupied. He enjoys spending time outdoors with his wife Carly and their beloved golden retriever Murphy.They enjoy exploring Oregons beauty and also enjoy traveling to new places across the globe. Dr. Tyler is an avid sports fan and enjoys playing a variety of sports, including basketball, soccer, ultimate frisbee, and mountain biking.
Dr. Susie Watkins joined our practice in January 2011 after working for five years in public health dentistry. She graduated in 2005 with honors from the University of Maryland Dental School and completed a General Practice Residency at the VA Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland. Her undergraduate education was at Wake Forest University where she graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Health in Exercise Science.
Dr. Watkins grew up in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and was interested in medicine from a young age. She decided to pursue dentistry when she worked as a dental assistant after finishing her undergraduate degree. As an assistant, she learned that she loved the combination of the art and science of dentistry as well as the one-on-one patient care unique to dentistry.
It is the direct patient care that most excites her as a healthcare provider, and she strives to treat everyone using the Golden Rule principle. As a senior in dental school, she was honored to receive the Excellence in Patient Care Award. After finishing residency, Dr. Watkins joined the Indian Health Service in Yakima, Washington, where she worked for four years providing comprehensive and emergency dentistry. Her family moved to Eugene and joined the Duck Nation upon her husbands matriculation into architecture school at the UO.
When not practicing dentistry, Dr. Watkins most enjoys spending time with her husband Chris and their two young children. In the past, she has been a member of the National Ski Patrol and Young Life Volunteer, however, these days she is likely to be found running and hiking, doing kids' craft projects, and reading books that rhyme.
Destiny joined PNW Dental in 2021. Originally from Salem, Destiny has been a dental assistant since 2012. She loves spending time with each and every patient, learning about them on a personal level, and making them feel comfortable at our office. Her goal is to help patients enjoy the time they spend with us in the office. A laugh and smile makes her day!
In her free time, Destiny loves spending time with family, friends, her chocolate lab, and her kitties. She enjoys everything outdoors: camping, crabbing, traveling, and hiking. During the fall, she's all about football - Go Seahawks!
Shelli enjoys interacting with her patients and strives to make them feel welcome and comfortable while teaching individual oral homecare. The profession of dental hygiene offers a one-on-one experience, and each interaction is an opportunity to teach and nurture her patients. On a personal level, Shelli enjoys getting to know her patients and listening to their interesting stories.
Lauren graduated from Oregon Institute of Technology, School of Hygiene in 2014. She has been with PNW Dental since 2019, and her goal is to welcome each patient with a smile and make them feel comfortable.
She loves helping her patients achieve great oral health and strives to treat them with the utmost care and provide them with quality of work. Laurens favorite thing about a patients visit is that she gets to treat each patient individually and work with them to find home care habits that work for them.
Lauren grew up in Silverton, Oregon, and is married to her high school sweetheart. They recently relocated to the Eugene area, where they plan to raise a family in the future. She enjoys snowboarding, mountain biking, board games, and spending time with family and friends.
Natalie graduated from Dixie State University, School of Dental Hygiene in 2011. Her goal is to create an enjoyable dental experience by being gentle, yet thorough. She loves to meet all of our many patients and leave them laughing and smiling. Natalie is married with three small children. She is originally from Utah, lived in the Midwest for several years and now calls Oregon home. She loves reading, movies, music and having adventures with her family.
Upon graduation from Cottage Grove High School, Debbie immediately entered the dental assisting program at Lane Community College, graduating in 1981. She had received exceptional dental care growing up and had a strong desire to do the same for others.
Debbie joined PNW Dental in 2018 after having worked for the previous owner, Dr. Joe Jenson, for many years. As a dental assistant, Debbie provides patient care and performs all duties associated with that role. She values the one-on-one time she can spend with patients getting to know them and helping them relax while they are receiving care.
Outside of dentistry, Debbie enjoys going to the Oregon Coast and camping and fishing at Odell Lake. She also has four grandkids who she loves to watch on her days off. Debbie also enjoys reading and is an avid Seattle Seahawks and Oregon State Beavers fan.
Becca always enjoyed going to the dentist as a child and knew she wanted to work in the dental field and share her good experience with others. After receiving her dental assistant certification from Lane Community College in 2009, Becca was ecstatic to start working for Jenson Family Dental and has been with us ever since.
As an expanded duties dental assistant, Becca loves helping patients achieve excellent oral health and seeing their healthy smiles. She additionally performs functions like ordering burs for the practice, cleaning the sterilizer, and changing the traps in dental carts.
Becca married her high school sweetheart, Matt, and they have two amazing daughters. In her free time, she loves spending time with family and enjoying all the beauty Oregon offers. Becca also enjoys painting, ceramics, and making gift baskets.
Autumn was born and raised in Springfield, Oregon and joined our dental team in 2016. She is passionate about the dental field and patient care and is currently attending Lane Community College for her Bachelor of Science degree. Autumn is also certified in radiation health and safety.
Aimee is a native of Forest Grove, Oregon, and graduated from Portland Community College in 1992. She recently joined PNW Dental in 2020 and has been a great help in soothing the nerves of our anxious patients and helping them feel comfortable in the dental chair.
Carrie has been in the dental industry since 2003 and joined the PNW Dental team in 2014. She enjoys getting to know each and every patient on a personal level and helping them find solutions that meet their needs. Please feel free to approach Carrie with any insurance, financing, or treatment questions you have.
Lyssa is a Eugene, Oregon native and joined PNW Dental in 2019 as a front office administrator. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in social services training and helps manage the front office and handle patient interactions. Lyssa says that the thing she enjoys most about her job is hearing patients laughing with our staff and seeing them smile when they leave our office.
My family sees Dr. Tyler Peterschmidt and we have had the best experience. Both my kids love going to the dentist and Dr. Tyler always makes them feel comfortable. My youngest has had to have a lot of dental work done lately and its nice to have a dentist you trust. Dr. Tyler always takes the time to explain whats going on is always encouraging! He is gentle and listens well.

PNW Dental is conveniently located at 1814 Coburg Street, Suite 2, in the Cal Young/Coburg neighborhood of Eugene. You will find our building by looking behind for Jady Chiakowsky Orthodontics and Nova Urgent Care located right along Coburg Road.
Local landmarks include Autzen Stadium, home to the Oregon Ducks Football Team, and the new Hayward Field, a track and field stadium completed in 2020 at the University of Oregon. Outdoor recreation in Eugene includes Oakway Golf Course, Eugene Country Club, Alton Baker Park Sheldon Sports Park, and Skinner Butte Park.

As a complex trauma survivor, I received such compassionate care along with such professional dental care. If you are looking for a dentist that has a big heart and does excellent work, stop looking. You have found someone with Dr. Tyler. I told his practice the accommodations I needed and everything was done to make me feel comfortable, at choice and at ease.

PNW Dental has provided the best quality care I have ever received! Honestly I had been avoiding going to the dentist for about 10 years because I have had negative previous experiences, but now I am so ecstatic to have found a place where I feel so taken care of and at ease! When I first arrived, I was struck by how cozy and home-like the office feels. With its cottage-like outer appearance, the entire office is filled with natural light and warm colors. In each treatment space, there are beautiful views of plant life through large windows that look out onto a private backyard. So right off the bat I enjoyed the atmosphere. The entire staff also has a friendly and welcoming demeanor. Dr. Susie Watkins made me feel instantly comfortable as soon as we met, and I did not feel judged at all despite my very long gap between checkups. Once my evaluation was done, she made sure I understood and approved all of the treatments I would need and got me scheduled right away. Throughout each of my appointments, I was so impressed by the advanced technology they have access to. From their actual dental instruments to the TVs on the ceiling to help provide distraction for the patients, I can honestly say I have never been so calm at a cavity filling! They also take photos of the tooth before and after treatment so you can actually SEE what was done! So cool! Their level of attention to detail for pain control was also above and beyond what I had ever experienced. Dr. Watkins and Becca always made sure to ask me intermittently how I was doing throughout the treatments, and gave me instructions on how to signal them if anything was uncomfortable, at which point they would stop immediately provide additional pain control. I am so thankful to PNW dental for their high quality care and dedication to their patients comfort and well-being. I would strongly recommend this place to anyone in need of dental care or looking for a change!

I was very nervous when Dr. Jensen retired and my dental care would be transferred to a different dentist in the practice. However, I am extremely pleased and appreciative of Dr. Susie Watkins who is absolutely a top notched skilled dentist. Not only is Susie a seasoned practitioner, she is professional, precise, kind, and accessible. I am a patient who requires extra time and numbing support. Dr. Watkins just prepped and placed a new crown for me and my experience was perfect. I give Dr. Susie Watkins (and the entire office staff) my highest recommendation.

I was unhappy with the Dentists I was seeing and started researching online and asking friends who they liked..and found Jensen Family Dental. I was actually looking for a Female Dentist and Dr.Susan Watkins was a member of their team. I read her "Meet Us" profile and really connected to her history of doing Compassionate outreach and care, with a Residency at the VA Hospital In Baltimore, and after that joining the Indian Health Services in Yakima Washington. Unfortunately I have had 2 crowns now, but there has been no pressure to rush into it and the care has been fantastic. They also have tv's on the ceiling to distract you from your procedure. My Hygienist, Natalie is top notch as well. I feel great supporting this practice and am grateful to have found them. Oh and Dr Jensen has retired..so the name is changing soon..so look for Watkins Peterschmidt.

I've been a patient since 1996 when I was two years old and had had a dental emergency. Dr. Jenson and his team were wonderful! Fast forward 25 years and there have been some big changes that made me a bit apprehensive but Dr. Peterschmidt and Dr. Watkins are both great. They have done an awesome job keeping the office feeling like the same little personable and friendly place it's always been, while going through immense growth and modernization. They are thorough, patient, good at listening and make sure to address any questions or concerns you have. The real MVP though is Shelli, whose been my hygienist for the past 10+ years. She's the best. I couldn't imagine going anywhere else.

After a bad experience I asked our Pharmacist if he could recommend a dentist. His emendate reply was Dr. Watkins at Jensen Family Dentistry (now PNW dentistry). In fact he said he would pay my bill if for some reason I didn't think she was the best. Well after my first visit he not only did not have to pay my bill, I owed him a dinner for the recommendation. In the past year our families experience with Dr. Watkins and Peterschmidt has been exceptional. They have the latest equipment and procedures to make a trip to the dentist pleasant. Just yesterday Dr. Watkins extracted an infected tooth. She carefully explained the process and compassionately , skillfully and painlessly removed the tooth. The entire team at this practice is exceptional. At this time our family including a son in law, daughter two grandsons and my wife and I are very satisfied patients of this practice.

I am a retired dentist and am very happy with my choice to receive care from NWD Dental. The staff are personable, caring and skilled. Unfortunately, many clinics work to extract the highest fees. This practice feels like being in a good family-- they work to understand your needs and limitations. I can not imagine a better experience

I can easily say it was the best cavity filling I have ever had done (that says a lot cause I always enjoyed going to the dentist). There is a TV on the ceiling, talk about first class treatment. I was able to choose to have the channel on my favorite show... golden girls lol! Throughout the procedure Dr. Susie Watkins would always ask me if I was doing okay, that right there shows how much she cares for the patient (I felt really special ), and I would always answer, "Yeah this is great!" She is truly an amazing dentist, patient and really kind.

I came to this dentist a couple years ago because they were the only ones that could get me in on such short notice to have some work done and they have done an excellent job. Tyler is so nice and easy to work with and Natalie cleans my teeth and she is awesome too. They have a great staff and everyone is very friendly. I would highly recommend this dentist office to anyone.
