The team at Maitland Square Dentistry believe in the importance of preventative care. We focus on keeping patients in good oral health so that they can live a full, healthy, and enjoyable life that is free from oral pain. This starts by educating our patients on what they can do to stay healthy at home. In our family dentist office we recommend that patients eat a healthy diet that consists of green leafy vegetables, lean protein, nuts, dairy products, and crunchy fruits and veggies. Eating these foods along with drinking water can help to keep teeth healthy and make them stronger. By simultaneously reducing sugar intake, patients can also reduce their risk of cavities.

It is also important to brush and floss throughout the day. Instead of waiting for bedtime to brush teeth, carry a small toothbrush and use it after meals and snacks. This makes it possible to remove sugar and bacteria from the teeth and gums before it has the opportunity to turn into acid that can attack the teeth. This preventative step can greatly reduce a persons' risk of getting a cavity or gum disease. We understand the importance of taking these steps at home and will spend the time necessary to educate and inform patients so that they can stay healthy overall. Education, after all, is essential for living a long and healthy life.

Understanding the importance of these regular dental exams, the staff at Maitland Square Dentistry work to make each patient extremely comfortable. This includes being welcoming and kind while performing dental treatments in a way that is painless and relaxing. Patients visit our dentist office because they trust us to do just that take care of their teeth and gums, gently. The majority of our patients are local and come from the greater Maitland area, we also see patients that are looking for gentle dental care.

Seniors, on the other hand, often struggle with gum disease and oral infections. As people age, their teeth can become weaker and infected more easily. Bone loss is incredibly common with seniors and by conducting regular dental exams, the team at Maitland Square Dentistry can help seniors to have strong teeth and reduce the risk of them falling out. Since over seventy percent of U.S. adults suffer from tooth loss, preventative care is important.

A. Primary, or 'baby,' teeth are important for many reasons. Not only do they help children speak clearly and chew naturally, they also aid in forming a path that permanent teeth can follow when they are ready to come in.

A. First, rinse the irritated area with warm salt water and place a cold compress on the face if it is swollen. Give the child acetaminophen for any pain, rather than placing aspirin on the teeth or gums. Finally, see a dentist as soon as possible.

A. Sealants work by filling in the crevasses on the chewing surfaces of the teeth. This shuts out food particles that could get caught in the teeth, causing cavities. The application is fast and comfortable and can effectively protect teeth for many years.

A. Have your family dentist evaluate the fluoride level of your child's primary source of drinking water. If your child is not getting enough fluoride internally through water (especially if the fluoride level is deficient or if your child drinks bottled water without fluoride), then we may prescribe fluoride supplements.

A. Soft plastic mouthguards can be used to protect teeth, lips, cheeks and gums from sport related injuries. A custom-fitted mouthguard will protect your teeth from injuries and even provide protection from severe injuries to the head.

A. There is very little risk in dental X-rays. Family dentists are especially careful to limit the amount of radiation to which you and your family are exposed. Lead aprons and high-speed film are used to ensure safety and minimize the amount of radiation. Digital x-rays provide an even greater level of protection by using up to 90 percent less radiation.

Filling cavities is one of many services that a family dentist provides. Cavities are holes in teeth that occur due to tooth decay. However, if the decay is caught early, it may be possible to reverse it before a cavity forms. Understanding how and why tooth decay happens may make it easier to learn how

Hard NO! If you really need a Dentist after hours try your best to wait, or drive as far as you have to, but don't stop here. My mother was having pain and it was a Friday around noon. Most dentists are either closed on Fridays or they close early. I called this place up and he said, "Sure we are open, I can see her at 1PM!" All I mentioned was the Insurance name and he interrupted saying, "Sure, we take that!" He didn't ask if it was an HMO or a PPO. He didn't ask if it was Medicare or Medicaid. He didn't ask her Account number. So, we get there at 1PM and it is just the dentist in there. We wait 10 minutes not knowing what is going on and then he comes out and gives us paperwork. An hour later a Secretary comes in. She starts calling my Mom's Healthcare company, but she can't get through. I go to get lunch around 2:30 and they still haven't taken her back. I use the restroom around 3 and when I come out, she has gone to be worked on, 2 hours after our appointment. I assume the insurance is ok at this point since they don't say anything about it. The dentist comes out explaining four or five procedures he wanted to do, totaling over 2 thousand dollars. Mind you, she had just seen here regular dentist a month ago and he is doing a terrible job explaining what these procedures are or why she needs them. I opted for the two procedures that seemed to be directly related to here pain. This still totaled over 8 hundred dollars. What is the worse part, the paperwork only showed a little over a hundred dollars off! She has good insurance and she barely pays anything at here regular dentist! I don't think he really takes here insurance and just made the paperwork look like he does. I kept asking for a copy of the quote and the secretary kept "forgetting." When we left I asked the dentist for an itemized receipt since no one ever gave me one. I demanded one before we left and the dentist finally gave me one. I didn't really look at it until later, but I could see that he had charged me about a hundred more than he had said and that he had charged my Mom's card over two hundred dollars. We must have written that information on the initial paperwork and they charged it without approval. Lastly, the dentist was rude in how he spoke to me. Like I said, keep driving. Look at the other reviews for this place. They changed names a few years ago. Wonder why? Compare them to other dentists. I think there is an Emergency Dentist on I-drive somewhere. It is worth the extra drive. This place needs to be shut down!

BE WARNED! FIND ANOTHER PLACE TO GO! I had an emergency on Sunday July 3rd I needed an emergency root canal. There was an assistant that clearly had no training or knew what to do. The doctor was not even there! The assistant held a camera, and had her cell phone on speaker. Instead of taking an X-ray of the effected tooth, they did a full mouth X-ray and charged me $450! I have Cigna, and asked if they were in network. They advised they ARE in network, but they could not check on a Sunday. I went back in for a root canal that Wednesday. After all was said and done turns out, they are NOT in network, and I paid $3,005.00 for out of network fees! That's an insane amount of money for a root canal! These people are CROOKS. Today I spoke with my new dentist and they called this office and they even told my new dentist they're in the Cigna network when they clearly are not. I called Cigna today to see if there was anything I can do. They advised they're open 24/7 and any office can check coverage of benefits at any time. These people are liars! Cigna advised to complain to the state. Now I'm out $3,005.00 because I got taken advantage of by crooks!

Had a toothache the weekend of the 4th, called this office on the Saturday and they said they could get me in the next day at 9 am. Was never told the dentist wouldn't be there, this was my first time going to this office. How can you consider your self an emergency dentist if the dentist isn't even there. Arrived at the location around 8:50, figuring I would need time to fill out paper work, no one was there to open the door, I called the phone number and was told the staff was in their way, again thinking okay that must mean the dentist will be there as well. I walk back to the door at 9 am and it was open. The receptionist took my info and had me fill out my paperwork, meanwhile she tells me she's new and on the phone being told what to do. They "couldn't verify" my insurance because it was a weekend, I have cigna and they are open 24/7. There is no reason she couldn't do that. Was told that I needed to pay 450 out of pocket for x-rays and exam. Me thinking the dentist was running late I paid it. The receptionist is on the phone (now walking around with a security camera) being told how to set up the x-rays, she calls me back and takes my x-rays and tells me to have a seat in the chair. The "dentist" is on the phone with her telling him what he saw on the x-rays. I had to ask her to put him on speaker, apparently this is now a tella visit, again was never told that this was going to be a tella visit. How can you charge for an exam when I don't even know who I am talking too. This place is money hungry. They took full x-rays when I told them it was only my right side. They charge more for a full mouth. Since she didn't even attempt to verify my insurance come to find out they are out of my network, so I am only getting reimbursed for $26 dollars out of the $450 I paid. Had I'd known that I would have left immediately. They took advantage of being called an emergency dentist. Over charge for issues that do not need to be addressed. Do not go to this hack job of a dentist.

I went last year to get a tooth extraction. The first thing the dentist asked me is if I had jaw surgery. Like wth kind of question is that to ask your patient to begin with? And then when I told him my story and as to why and when was the last time I went to a dentist, he responded with "that's crazy". He's very condescending and not a person who should be working with patients. You show compassion and understanding. He did none of the sort. He was very rough with me on the chair and acted like I was just a number. Not to mention the astronomical prices you have to pay here for a simple tooth extraction. I went back one last time for a tooth cleaning and his dental assistant was just as rude as him. Needless to say, I will never be coming back.

Went in for some cosmetic dentistry work, which I had quite a bit of anxiety about... Immediately was taken care of, and the results were fantastic. Very easy, and comfortable process. Dr. Hazen and his staff, were extremely warm and made me feel at ease throughout the entire process. I would highly recommend Maitland square dentistry for all your needs.

Fantastic Experience. I had cracked my Root Canal and Needed Emergency Dental Surgery. Dr Hazan and his team were able to take me in early on a Sunday morning and take great care of me. They printed out all paperwork for my Insurance and I am so thankful for everything they are doing. Costs are justified by getting specialty care after hours and on weekends. Thank you so much again

Great experience all around. Called for emergency dental work the day after Christmas and was in within the hour. Tooth extraction and bone graft, went down without a hitch. Would recommend highly to anyone.

This was my first time visiting Plaza North Dentistry in Maitland, Fl and it most definitely won't be my last. Plain and simple, doctor Hazan knows his stuff and takes the time to explain in simple terms what each procedure entails. Prior to performing any work, he provided detailed information and even then asked if there were any questions. This made me comfortable that I wasn't being rushed and he didn't appear to have been bothered (that I called him in after hours). After years of neglect, one of my tooth finally decided to break off in my food. Thankfully it did so at the place and time it did, giving me this opportunity to find this location and dentist. The man who answered my initial call was hospitable and made the process smooth. I called and spoke to him at least three times before finally arriving at the location. Not once did he express any sort of annoyance and he was patient and respectful throughout. That was the deciding factor in choosing this place over somewhere else. The doctor removed one tooth today and he talked me through it all, that I didn't even realise when it was out. He waited as long as it took to ensure the area was numb afterwhich he cautiously and skillfully removed the damaged tooth. I inspected the spot from where the tooth was removed to ensure no pieces were left and it is all clean. Needless to say, I am quite satisfied with the experience and will be returning to do the other dental work that is required. Thank you for a great experience! Tracy M

To make a long story short, Ive been dealing with some back tooth pain for months now and it was on and off up until a few days ago. It was insanly persistant and on Saturday night it would not go away, keeping me from falling alseep. I considered going to the ER but during the early morning I found that about an hour away from me Plaza North was open on Sunday. I drove down for when they opened and was seen immediately. Allison did the quick exam of my tooth, xray etc. Dr Hazan came in and was able to extract my infected open wisdom tooth. I think the entire visit there was about an hour. I wouldve done just about anything to get the pain to stop and I find myself very lucky to have found them open and ready to go. They both were very nice and helped me out immensely. Allison gave me what I needed to file a claim with my insurance since it is Sunday and I understamd theyre unable to verify during that day. Overall great experiance and I cant thank them enough.

What price will you pay to alleviate your pain? it was like I was talking to a used car salesman or an auctioneer, they tried to charge 375.00 for xray panoramic views. "just for xrays", when I said that too much, the went down to a cheaper type of xray. Its all about the money here!

This practice is amazing!! Allison & Gretchen are always so friendly and sweet! They actually care about the people who walk through the door! I had a dental emergency on a Saturday. I needed an emergency root canal. Of course my insurance was not open on Saturday to verify my benefits. I had to pay out of pocket and hope to be reimbursed by my insurance company. This was at no fault of the dental office! Expect to pay if your insurance company is closed on weekends! This did not change my opinion of Dr Hazan or his staff! They are amazing people! I would definitely recommend my friends and family! Thank you so much Dr. Hazan! You are one great guy! And an amazing dentist!! Heather Chouinard

This Dentist office is completely unprofessional,I arrived for a dental emergency and didn't get seen until 2 and a half hours later. These employees show no emotion towards those who are in severe oral pain that come to seek remedy for their pain.Front desk is not friendly nor informative, and doesn't even wear her mask either. Also shows favoritism to patients who aren't white like them. For me to be purposely overlooked by their staff after being here for 2 1/2 hours before several patients that received treatment before me.I do not recommend and I do not even rate this dentist a single star.Obviously this is a dentist that only desires and services folks of their own complexion. This office is Dental Malpractice, stealing money from patients who are in pain, how do you charge for a x ray but that is included in emergency procedure protocol.Beware going here, you're either judged on your skin complexion or getting money stolen from you through shady practices.
