Dr. Michael Payor is originally from Orlando, Florida, and attended the University of Georgia where he earned his Bachelors degree. After attending Midwestern University College of Dental Medicine in Glendale, Arizona, he moved to San Diego where he is now a proud member of the San Diego Healthy Smiles family.
With an emphasis on communication and understanding each patients individual needs, Dr. Payor aims to provide the highest quality dental care, in a comfortable and caring environment. Dr. Payors passion for learning and commitment to continuing education ensures he is up-to-date with the most modern techniques in cosmetic, restorative, and preventive dentistry, allowing him to provide the best possible care to all his patients.
Dr. Diana Cluff- Payor, known affectionately as Dr. D, is a third generation family dentist, with a passion for helping patients overcome their fears to reach their health goals. Dr. D grew up in East County San Diego, having attended West Hills High School and San Diego State University, where she earned her bachelors degree in biology. In order to gain more experience before earning her doctorate, Dr. D worked as a dental assistant in the practice, getting to know many of our wonderful patients, before she entered dental school. Dr. D earned her degree in dental medicine at Midwestern University, in Glendale, Arizona. In order to ensure she remains on the cutting edge of dentistry, she continues to expand her comprehensive dental skills by engaging in continuing education courses.
Committed to serving her community, Dr. D has returned to her hometown to join the family practice. She strives to provide patients with gentle, compassionate care, and enjoys helping patients reach their dental goals, especially those with dental anxiety.
She has engaged in outreach programs for patients in hospice, and pediatrics, as well as providing dentistry for community clinics at St. Vincent de Paul. Outside of her passion for dentistry, Dr. D enjoys cooking, road trips, and watching MMA. She is excited to be able to care for her hometown, as a healthcare professional.
Mercedes has been in the dental field since 2009. She is trained in both the front and back office and works primarily in the front office. She is both a skilled insurance and patient care coordinator, as well as a wonderful clinical assistant, and makes every effort to help patients have a wonderful experience at our office. She is known for her calm and always positive attitude.

Recently transferred to this practice and I'm very happy with it. Dr. Mike is a very cool guy and makes you feel comfortable going there. They're gentle with your teeth and explain everything as they're going. 10/10 recommend.

Dr. Mike is AMAZING! I can't speak more highly of the man. He's friendly, professional & knowledgeable. He talks to you in everyday terminology & not all that medical jargon that's overwhelming & confusing. The office is clean & nicely decorated. Something I've never seen before is not only a TV in the exam room, but a TV on the ceiling too!! I highly recommend this practice.

If you're looking for a dentist in Rancho Bernardo, look no further than Plaza Dentistry. Dr. Mike and his team are excellent, and they go above and beyond for their patients. I did my research and brought my Mom here, who needed a partial. Dr. Mike was so caring with her, and the entire experience has been nothing short of wonderful. He even came into his office on Memorial Day (yes, his day off) in order to fit my Mom's new partial properly and adjust it!! Who does that these days?!?! Each room is private and very relaxing, so if you're a nervous patient, you'll be in good hands here. They even have flat screen TV's with beautiful, relaxing scenery to watch!! Pricing is very reasonable, too. They are everything you want in a dentist. Thank you Dr. Mike and staff!!

I feel very safe getting my teeth cleaned here, even in the pandemic. The facility is very nice and everyone is helpful and pleasant to work with. My hygienist Jen is the best.

I came into this office on the day after a holiday (as my regular dentist was closed) to have a tooth checked out, this turned into a very expensive root canal. While I was in the chair getting prepped and numbed, they asked me to give a google review for the facility. (Prior to receiving any services and right before they were going to perform a major procedure in my mouth.) I felt put on the spot and gave a five star review. I ended up having major issues with the root canal, going back to my regular dentist to fix it, and finding out this emergency root canal was completely unnecessary. I should have waited for my regular dentist's office to open. Very expensive and painful lesson learned.

Mike got me set up for an emergency appointment after my permanent retainer broke while eating bell peppers. After consulting his partner he opted to remove the retainer so that I could floss easier. I've always gone to Mike for my regular dental care, and this is a perfect example of why I keep coming back. I feel like my overall health is their top priority and I'm always satisfied with my results. Thanks again for the wonderful service!

I went in for a routine cleaning a couple months ago. I mentioned some tooth sensitivity I experienced while eating clams and potatoes the previous night to Dr Payor. Turned out my nerve was infected and I needed a root canal! I couldn't believe my previous dentist didn't catch it sooner. The entire root canal procedure was quick and painless. Plus, the crown they implanted is indistinguishable from my actual teeth! The employees and dentists were friendly and professional. I typically get a little nervous with dental procedures but they really put me at ease during the entire process. I would highly recommend Plaza Dentistry for your dental needs.

I am very afraid of going to the dentist but Dr.Raza and his staff have gone above and beyond my expectation. Now I know the meaning of a five star Dental office which is not only hygienically pleasing but also aesthetically beautiful as well with flat screens everywhere.
