As an oral surgeon, I am allowed to alleviate patients pain, restore their oral health and smile, and rebuild their confidence in their appearance. When they feel badly about how their teeth appear, or when they are in constant pain, patients are unable to fully enjoy life. My abilities to truly help an individual make my life and profession rewarding.
I thrive on the relationships I develop with each person I care for; we become more than doctor and patient, through our interactions, and our relationships are strong and long-lasting. When a patient brings a family member to me, or refers a friend, I am honored in the trust they place in me and my abilities.
I have served on the faculty at the UCSF Medical Center in San Francisco and was a staff member at Kaiser Medical Center in Oakland. I am continually expanding my knowledge of dental and oral surgery technological and treatment techniques through participation in meetings, seminars, and conferences. By keeping current with best practices, and continually honing my skills, I am able to provide my patients with the widest array of proven treatment options to satisfy their oral health and aesthetic needs.

I love that our dental team is so dedicated to providing professional, compassionate care to our patients. Each member is attentive to detail, supportive, and extremely knowledgeable. Watching them go the extra mile to reassure a reticent patient, to crack a joke with a child, to listen to a patients concerns without judgment and then provide the right information to help the patients through their worries, is amazing. I am responsible for administrative management of our practice, including employee management; I hire new personnel, and handle day-to-day supervision. I also handle our financial management, and marketing and advertising programs.
I have been married for over 30 years to my husband Bill. I love our blended family of six children and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In my spare time, I enjoy playing the piano, sewing, golfing, and spectator sports. We are big fans of the San Francisco 49ers and are long-time season ticket holders.
Away from the office, I spend much of my time with my family and love being a parent. I work as a community organizer and direct a volunteer-based art program in order to improve public education for children in the Oak Grove School District.
I love forming relationships with my patients: teaching them how to achieve exceptional oral health, and then seeing them put into practice all that I have taught them. I know the difference that having a healthy mouth has, when it comes to complete body health. When patients are healthier, they have a better quality of life. Being able to help people in this way is very rewarding. Some of my job duties include performing dental prophylaxis, root planing, oral cancer screenings, and administering nitrous oxide. A lot of my time with patients is focused on education, to make sure they know how to keep their teeth and gums in good shape at home.
My favorite part about my job is working with people and helping my patients achieve optimum oral health through preventive and periodontal care. I am here to make sure each person has a comfortable, pleasant dental experience. I have the highest respect for our dentists here because they truly have your best interest at heart. Along with being some of the smartest people I know they also constantly seek out new techniques and information to increase their knowledge.
