Platt Dental Studio is a collaborative dentistry practice in downtown Asheville, NC. We treat our patients with kindness and work with them not only to review their medical history but also to understand their long-term goals. We designed our practice to be convenient, both in location and hours of operation: we are open before and after work hours, during lunchbreaks, and every other Saturday, which makes visiting your dentist visits easier to schedule. Gentle dental care is our priority, and we provide services for you and your family. Our dentistry offerings include pediatric dental treatments, and we aim to be a one-stop medical practice for mostif not allof your dental needs, including general dentistry and emergency dental services.
Dr. Kristi Platt, DDS, has had a wide range of professional experience, including army field dentistry across various countries, and supporting community health working with local dentists. This motivates our teams vision to tailor our treatment plans to meet every patients needs. To better serve our patients, our staff members speak English and Spanish, and we also offer payment plans. We believe in preventative care and our goal is to make optimal dental health accessible to all.
We believe that dentistry doesnt have to be intimidating, and our goal is to create a patient-centered environment that promotes quiet and a feeling of safety. Our office is eco-friendly, and our patients peace of mind is central to our care. We focus on painless dentistry no matter your age and medical situation. We communicate clearly with our patients and make sure they feel comfortable sharing any questions or concerns with us. Dr. Kristi Platt has opened Platt Dental Studio in downtown Asheville, NC. Her conscientious approach to dentistry emphasizes comfort and health in a positive setting. Her broad experience, ranging from the military to private practice, enables her to focus on each clients specific needs.
Kristi was born in Oregon, and raised in Georgia. She received her Bachelors of Science in Biology from the Idaho State University with a minor in Spanish. She graduated in 1999 with her DDS at the University of Missouri in Kansas City. During dental school Kristi received a scholarship from the organization Doctors With A Heart. She traveled to Venezuela and Jamaica to provide dentistry for orphan children. The first 5 years of her career were spent overseas as an army field dentist, where she was stationed in Germany and Kosovo. She then came back to the US and started a family, settling in Asheville, NC in 2007 with her three daughters including twins. After 2 years as a stay-at-home mom, Kristi re-entered the workforce as an associate for local dentists and, most recently, as a general dentist for community health in WNC.
When not cheering on her now-teenage daughters at soccer and field hockey games, Kristi and her partner Luis enjoy their weekends fixing up their near-downtown 1917 bungalow, where they will live their precious empty-nest years.
An avid athlete, Kristi has a Boston marathon and a couple half-Ironman races under her belt, and she has not forgotten about her long-term goal of a full Ironman some day. A pilots license is hopefully in her future as well since she already has 35 hours of single-engine flying experience. Kristi enjoys playing the drums, and would love to continue this hobby as a member in a band some day. For now, while juggling her life as a mom and dentist, Kristi spends her free time running, playing the occasional tennis game, and walking her Bernese mountain dog Lily.

I am so happy to have found Dr. Platt and his wonderful hygienist, Nikki. They were patient with me, professional, and honest. The office is clean, they are friendly and I actually look forward to coming. Thanks for taking care of my smile. I highly recommend Dr. Platt and staff.

If i could give a -1 I would. I called in with extreme pain. They assured me they would help. They took my insurance info over the phone said ot was all good and made me an appointment. So far so good it doesn't last. I go in They look, do x-rays, a CT scan and take pictures and as afraid as I was I was looking forward to being out of pain. This is when they informed me that even though they had confirmed that I had $5000.00 coverage but they needed half of the charge up front. Nobody said anything about that the day before or I wouldn't have wasted my time and gas money going. I wasn't ask for half of the exam cost which means all of the procedures were covered because i talked to my insurance company. Needless to say a week later I'm still in pain and no appointment is available till 2023 for a new patient at a total different dentist. I feel used for the cost of the exam and judged because of my fear of dentists. I found out today she was a military dentist so I guess she thought I was as tough as a marine and can ignore a toothache. Most disappointing, humiliating, embarrassing experience of my life that just added to my phobia of dentist offices. Would not recommend.

I haven't been to a dentist in over 8 years because I have a bad gag reflex which is so embarrasing at the dentist. Dr. Platt, Eugene, and Nikki were so kind and so patient with me and my gag reflex. They were positive and understanding. After 40 years of horrible dentist experiences this one was so perfect and couldn't have been better. There was absolutely no pressure on time and they really cared and listened to me which means a lot. To top it all off their prices are completely fair.

Dr. Platt and Nikki and the rest of the team provided me an excellent experience. They made me feel comfortable (I got to pick my own music too) and I believe the treatment plan that Nikki offered me is actionable and has my best interest in mind. (I have sensitive teeth) Also, after my X-ray was completed Dr. Platt was so thorough and informative, and let me know every step of the way what's going on so there are no surprises. Very calming, as well. I'm looking forward to my next appointment. Very professional and skilled, top to bottom. Cannot recommend them more highly.

Dr. Platt is a wonderful dentist. Very caring and thorough. My teeth feel great and we have a wonderful plan moving forward. Beautiful office and great staff. My hygienist, Nikki, was great. My teeth feel wonderful and my gums are not sore. If you need a dentist, I highly recommend Platt Dental Studio.

I needed an emergency appointment, and these guys were able to get in right away. The reason for the emergency visit was I needed a tooth pulled. For years I have let dental anxiety get in the way of proper oral health. I have tried a variety of other dentists with mixed results. Dr. Platt and Eugene are great conversationalists who instantly made me feel at ease. Not once did I feel rushed, and they listened to and acknowledged my fears. All in all, my fear was quickly put to rest, it was easy to get an appointment, and they are located close to downtown.

What a wonderful experience. Just moved to the area and chipped a tooth . I did not have a dentist in the area as of yet. Called a lot of dentist, but no sympathy for my dilemma, until I called The Platt Dental Studio. They worked me in the same day. The environment was warm, friendly, clean and inviting, and the care given was exceptional. Dr. Platt made sure that throughout the procedure I was comfortable and pain free. My tooth was fixed the same day and I have had no more issues. So if you are looking for a dentist. Look no further.

Platt Dental Studio is a superb dentist office who were able to take excellent care of my wife after she had a nasty fall and injured her teeth. They were able to fit her in and see her within a couple of hours of the accident, and Dr Kristi and her staff provided the perfect mix of reassurance, medical care, experience, and options for treatment. Our follow-ups have continued to build on our first impressions - Dr Kristi has put together an impressive team - and we were so pleased that we switched to Platt Dental for our regular dental checkups and hygiene visits as well. It's also worth noting that the pricing is also very fair - even though we could have been charged for each visit, our follow-ups have been covered under the original emergency visit cost - which has been a relief after the stress of the accident itself. So yes, a strong recommend from me - they are well worth the visit, and we'll be using them for our future dental needs. They are a credit to downtown Asheville.

Excellent experience! I put off dental care for years due to a myriad of fears related to dentistry BUT I experienced NONE of them with Dr. Platt and her staff. Everyone was knowledgeable, listened to my concerns, explained my options, and supported whatever decision I made. Not only have I finally found a wonderful dentist for life, I can highly recommend the entire practice.

Best dental service experience in my life. I have been dental phobic for pretty much my whole life. I recently had a few negative experiences with other local dental offices and was very distraught. I searched google for gentle dentists and Platt Dental Studio popped up. I called, Dr Platt answered the phone, and within a few hours I was in her chair being taken care of. She listened to my fears, was compassionate and understanding and I got through it. I have had two visits already and have to say she and her staff have changed the way I feel about going to the dentist. If you are looking for exceptional service in a brand new downtown Asheville office, look no further. Dr. Platt and her awesome team will take the best care of you. Thank you Dr Platt, and Eugene.
