Dr. Hicks is a native to Utah. He believes that dental care should be gentle and painless. He earned his Doctor of Dental Medicine at Southern Illinois University School of Dental Medicine and graduated in the top 10% of his class. Hes practiced medicine in various areas of Utah over the last 22 years.
He served a 2 year church mission to Southern France. He and his wife have 3 children and 5 grandchildren and live in South Jordan. He loves golfing, mountain biking, snowboarding, paint, and vacation with family.
He works as a dental consultant part-time for the state of Utah Department of Health and is a member of the Utah Dental Association and the American Dental Association. Hes a former member of the Illinois Army National Guard and has performed dental services in Thailand and Paraguay. Dr. Hicks provides dental care for everyone including pediatric dentistry, cosmetic dentistry, and general dentistry services.

They charged me a totally different price then was signed upon. Then when I came in to have my son temporary glued back on because it fell out they said it was going to be a 100$ charge just for that. What a joke we ended up walking out will find another dentist.

I definitely recommend this dentist. I haven't taken care of my mouth in years , but yesterday I had a root canal and multiple cavities filled by platinum dental. I'm so incredibly happy with the results I could cry. The bill for the work I had done and quotes for future work were extremely fair compared to all the dentists in Utah. Thank you platinum dental. I appreciate your work towards making my mouth beautiful again.

I have had 4 appts with platinum dental so far. These guys are so awesome!! I will be going back to get my wisdom teeth out next week. Hoping this time it will be as pain free as my first 4 appointments!!! Update got my wisdom teeth out by the oral surgeon. Pain free experience, very impressed.

This was my first visit with platinum Dental. Check up and cleaning. Very impressed with the service. Everyone, receptionist, hygienists, and dentist was all so friendly. Very knowledgeable. Explained all that was happening.Very thorough. Environment was very pleasant. I would refer my family and friends. Thank you.

Extremely new location and a close net family that is very quick and treats new patients with respect concern and helps them quickly I love this team dr. Hicks is very nice brittany I believe is the dental assistant was very nice!!

This office (West Jordan) deceives customers with estimate quotes and then over charges their billing can not be balanced with he customer and are unwilling to help reconcile differences and continue to schedule appointments and you have to stay on top of it or you will be billed for missed appointments even after you have asked them to cancel everything until you can reconcile the billing....you are promptly kicked out of their office at 5pm because they can not justify the bills, I had an over payment that swiftly disappeared when got there even though the day before it was on the account and the office manager cant tell me where it went.

I had an amazing experience with Platinum dental. I was told I needed a tooth removed and I visited Dr. Swenson for a second opinion. He recommended we try saving the tooth with a different procedure. 3 months later my tooth is as good as new. They were also very helpful working with my insurance to cover the costs. I would definitely recommend Platinum dental to friends and family.

We've been patients of Dr. Hicks for at least fifteen years. I like Dr. Hicks. He's personable, and nice. But I HATE the office is run since they merged with Platinum Dental. Staff is kind, but they're now overbooked and appointments take far too long. Sometimes hygienists and the dentist are really rough on the gums at cleaning. Ive actually had friends switch providers for this exact reason. But my biggest gripe? They had a traveling orthodontist. We really liked her. But midway through my teenager's orthodontic treatment she left the practice. So now we have someone that we didn't really choose. And they don't visit regularly. So... if you have to reschedule an appt, you're going weeks without treatment. My child's aligner trays broke, and it took over a month to be seen and get new trays. They always schedule her too far in advance and she is wearing trays for 4+ weeks before getting new trays. They've often had delays in getting new trays, one time a six week wait for new trays. My advice, don't choose a traveling orthodontist. Choose somewhere that you can get service when you need it. It's not like they were some amazing cheap deal either. So we paid the same but get much worse service. Absolutely will never do again. Right now my teen is just hoping to finish and be done with this office forever. Honestly, if I see the right new patient flyer in the mail, I'll be leaving too.

It was easy to make an appointment and they did all the work they said they would and found some issues that need to be taken care of. I have an appointment to go back and I'm happy to get this work taken care of with them. Everyone was really nice and let me ask as many questions as I needed to.

The staff is always happy and very good at explaining things to you and they coach you on how to maintain your teeth with valuable tips and ideas. Their office is comfortable and clean and the check in people are fantastic as well.
