Dr. Scherschligt grew up in Colorado and Sydney, Australia. In the early 1980s he moved to Salt Lake City, Utah for middle school and high school. He attended the University of Utah where he received his Bachelors of Science in Human Biology with a Chemistry minor in 1993.
In 1999 he received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from The Ohio State University. He graduated Summa Cum Laude with several scholastic and clinical achievement awards. He was ranked first of 105 dental students and was the valedictorian of his dental class.
Dr. S. and his wife, Michelle have five beautiful and talented daughters. They stay busy with high school sports, club soccer, dancing, hiking, and traveling. He strives to live every day to its fullest.
His personal motto is, Because quality Matters. This can be seen in his academics, continuing education, and his dental work. He strives to exemplify quality in his daily dental work. Many patients feel this in how he cares for their teeth.

If I could give zero stars I would. Went there at the suggestion of a friend. I had seen my regular dentist about 5 months earlier. Platinum took X-rays then told me I needed 3 teeth worked on... redo fillings and install crowns. Big dollars!! So I went back to my regular dentist and low and behold, no work needed! (Another unprofessional act-- Platnium never sent X-rays to my dentist as I requested). If you want to be put thru unneeded dentil procedures, at great expense, go ahead and use Platinum Dental!!

Upon my first visit to Platinum Dental. I was seen right away and treated amazing. The staff is great and wants to help you out. I went in for a second opinion and I'm really glad i did! I will be sticking to Platinum Dental for now on! Thank you! Edit to add: i no longer recommend this place as they went through multiple dentists and the work they did has not been great since.

I have never been to this dentist office before and so it was my first time. they were so nice and walked me through everything. they told me what they were going to do before doing it. i came alone but they supported me in a way that made me feel like i had friends or family with me. that was the best experience i have had with dentists and i hate dentist/doctors offices!

Before coming here I loathed going to the dentist but between the friendly staff, warm atmosphere and complete transparency I actually enjoy going to this dentist office. They know what they're doing and will gladly take the time to explain things. The staff makes it an enjoyable place to be which is why I'll keep coming back.

Got two cavities filled with them, the first cavity filling went great. Dentist was very fast and efficient. No problems. Second cavity, not so much. I kept telling him that the filling was too high and asked him to take it down more. He did the bite paper and said that it wasn't touching the filling. After the numbing wore off, it was definitely too high. I didn't have him fix it because I ended up grinding it down in my sleep anyway. The same night after the filling, I was eating pie and felt a shooting pain in the tooth. I decided to wait a couple of weeks before going in because Google said some sensitivity was normal for 2 weeks. The shooting pain stopped, but I did have sensitivity to cold and pressure that never stopped. I just went in today and he told me this was not normal. I am happy he redid the filling for free with no issues so far. I think the first time was off because his assistant was talking way too much and I could tell it kept distracting him. He wasn't super attentive the first time but he was today. (Different and much better assistant today.) I think he needs to tell the other assistant to shut up lol. Will update if I have anymore issues with the filling.

Im 69 years old so have visited a few Dentists in my travels. Platinum Dental is by far the best I've ever been to. The staff is great and the dentist the best. Seriously pain free and relaxing. Doesn't sound like im describing a dentist office but its so true.
