Dr. Swenson grew up in Utah County, he attended Pleasant Grove and Mountain View high schools. After high school he served a mission with the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in France and Switzerland. After his mission, Dr. Swenson attended BYU and earned a B.S. degree in Biochemistry. He then moved to Richmond, Virginia to attend VCU dental school. While there he met his wife, Andrea, as she returned from her mission in Colorado. They were married in the Washington, DC temple. Dr. Swenson graduated from Dental school in 2015 with his DDS degree, honors from Quintessence Publications for his research in Oral Cancer, and honors from the American Academy of Periodontology for his work in Periodontics.
Upon graduation from dental school with his DDS degree, Dr. Swenson and his wife moved to Iowa to attend residency at the University of Iowa. While in Iowa, Dr. Swenson and his wife had two children, Ammon and Melanie. Dr. Swenson Graduated from Residency in 2018 with an M.S. in Oral Sciences and a certificate in Periodontics. His masters project on 3D-bioprinting, a cutting-edge technique to to allow for 3-D printing of viable bone forming tissue, won the AADR Research Award for Post-graduate Periodontics and presented his research at the AADR national meeting.
Dr. Swenson is a member of the American Academy of Periodontology, the American Dental Association and the Utah Dental Association. His work has been published in the Journal of Virology, the Journal of Clinical Periodontology and the textbook used by the majority of dental programs Newman and Carranzas Clinical Periodontology.
Dr. Swensons practice covers the entire scope of periodontal therapy including treatment of periodontitis and gingivitis (gum Disease), gum grafting for recession coverage, bone grafting, dental implant placement, cosmetic periodontal surgeries and IV sedation.

My visit to Platinum yesterday went well. Amanda was a delightful and caring hygienist and Dr Emery was quick, efficient, and thorough. I also always appreciate that they have early morning appointments that fit well with my work schedule. They take care of me just the way I expect a dental team to do. Thanks!

I can honestly say I have never had a better dental experience than coming to this office! Everyone there is friendly and professional, and the dentist is amazing! I had no wait time, and had come in for a cleaning. When the cleaning was over, the dentist recommended that I get two old fillings replaced when I had the time. Before I could even get out of the chair, the billing lady had come back to ask if I had the time right then! I didn't even have to MOVE! They had those fillings done in less than 20 minutes!! I had to come back to get it smoothed out, and again..no wait! I can't say enough about Platinum. I HIGHLY recommend them!!

Everyone is so accommodating. I have dental anxiety and a pre existing medical conditions that they were able to work with and it was a great experience. Dr. Marks was funny and efficient.

Everyone was great ! From the front counter to the back. My only negative experience was not being informed that the numbing injections caused a racing heartbeat and possibly causing hands to shake. I never had this type of reaction before but I also have never had this amount of numbing injections at one time either. Just would have been nice to get a heads up of any reactions. Other than that , my visits have been great!

Platinum dental staff is one of the most exceptional generous kind speaking people helpful in the knowledge of dentistry I would recommend anyone local far in Utah to visit to facility and meet the wonderful people at Platinum dental I would give Platinum dental 10 stars but they only gave me 5 to select from Platinum dental made me feel like family from the first step in the door the staff is very helpful friendly they have it on site financial advisor and my dentist Melissa made me feel like a sister and brother relationship so if you have any pain tooth surgery cleaning visit Platinum dental

First: they told me some procedures would be covered by my insurance. But at the end it wasn't. Second: I had a tooth removal that another tooth was damaged during this procedure but never fixed and I would be charged to fix that. Those things made me scare of going back to this place. People should find a better place for their dental treatment.
