Dr. Khamas journey started in Baghdad, Iraq, where he was born and raised. He graduated from Baghdad College, the number one ranked high school founded by American Jesuits in the 1930s. He received his first dental education from Baghdad University, and while he was a junior student, he worked for the U.S. Army Dental Corps and supported their mission in Operation Iraqi Freedom. After relocating to the U.S., he continued to sharpen his dental skills and knowledge and was admitted to the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine, where he received his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree in 2013. He later moved to the DMV area to be closer to family and friends.
Dr. Khamas is a highly skilled dentist serving the Germantown area. He is dedicated to providing high-quality dental care to patients with his signature compassionate, caring and understanding style. He has a passion for diagnosing and treating patients with sleep disorders. What distinguishes him from other providers is that he has been suffering from these problems himself and understands them not just professionally but also from his personal experience.
As an Ivy League dentist from one of the top dental schools in the nation, Dr. Khamas possesses extraordinary insight and clinical skills that set him apart from other dentists, particularly in the areas of reconstructive and cosmetic general dentistry.
Dr. Khamas is a firm believer in continued education. He was awarded as a fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry, an honor that only 16% of general dentists achieve nationwide through continued education. He is an active member of the American Academy of General Dentistry, the American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine and the American Association of Endodontists, as well as the Spear Study club. In his spare time, Dr. Khamas enjoys spending time with his wife, Sura, and newborn baby, Zane, and playing basketball, tennis and soccer.
Kim completed her bachelors degree from Washington and Jefferson College in 2014 and her associate degree in dental hygiene from West Liberty University in 2014. She joined our team in August 2020 and loves being able to help our patients feel confident about their smile daily. Kim has experience in all areas of the dental office and is always ready to jump in and help wherever she is needed.
Haneen graduated with a Bachelor of Science in civil engineering in 2007, and she joined our team in March 2021. She enjoys the diversity and environment of our practice, and she works diligently to learn additional skills, manage her time efficiently and assist our dentist and hygienists.

Dr. Khamas is an excellent dentist. He is polite, professional, and very knowledgeable. Since taking over the practice, he has made a lot of notable improvements and implemented useful technologies that improve service without increasing cost. But despite his obvious capabilities, the real strength of this practice is the staff. They have never been anything but entirely friendly and professional. I feel like I hit the dentist jackpot with Dr. Khamas' practice.

After seeing Dr. McConnell for many years, my family and I were a bit nervous about seeing the new doctor that would eventually take over his practice. I am so pleased to share that Dr. Khamas and his staff are truly delightful! Dr. Khamas is just as personable and thorough as the former and the advancements in technology he has invested in are impressive! From front desk to Office Manager to Hygienist (Avida is amazing) your experience is top notch! Our whole family recommends you go check them out!

Dr. Khamas is amazing. I previously had a dentist tell me I needed to spend $37,000 on cosmetic dental work. I went to Platinum for a second opinion. Dr. Khamas gave me an honest assessment and found the actual problem and corrected it. Their staff is extremely knowledgeable and friendly. Highly recommend them.

A great practice! Doctor and his staff are amazing. Doctor works gently, professionally, listens and answers questions without rushing. His assistant and staff are also very kind and helpful. I never had trouble scheduling appointments or experienced long waits. They go above and beyond and for the first time in my life I actually look forward to going to a dental office! I highly recommend!

Having been a patient of Dr. McConnell for over 25 years, I am so pleased that he selected Dr. Sarmad Khamas as his replacement. Dr. Khamas has the skill, competence and compassion to handle all my future dental needs for the rest of my life and I'm immensely impressed since my first visit some months ago.
