Dr. Melanie Andrews received her Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree fromLSU School of Dentistryin 1983. She completed a Residency in General and Hospital Dentistry at University Hospital of Jacksonville, Florida in 1984 and established her dental practice in Destrehan in 1985.

Dr. Andrews is proud to have served the Destrehan community and the River Parishes as a General Dentist for over 25 years. She is especially flattered to have cared for her patients children and grandchildren and has inspired several young women to choose careers in dentistry.

The Doctor is a member of theAmerican Dental Association, theLouisiana Dental Association, and theNew Orleans Dental Association, as well as the Crescent City Implant Study Club. She is a past officer of the New Orleans Dental Association and was the General Chairman of the New Orleans Dental Conference.

Dr. Andrews received her Fellowship in the Academy of General Dentistry in 1998, an accomplishment which represents over 600 hours of continuing dental education. As a commitmentto continuingeducation, she is currently pursuingMastership (MAGD) in the Academy of General Dentistry. She is an avid believer in lifelong learning and completes many hours of continuing education each year. Her particular areas of emphasis are Smile Design, Reconstructive Dentistry, and Endodontics.Dr. Andrews is a Spear Faculty Club member and co-leader of the Top Gunn Spear Study Club.

Dr. Andrews participates in the Donated Dental Services Program. She is available to lecture to the community and dental groups and has given presentations for Patterson Dental, Delta Dental Studies, and the Valero Employees Lunch and Learn.

The doctor and her husband, Brian Shepard live in Destrehan with their three spoiled cats. Brian is a retired geologist and works full-time in the dental practice. When theyre not at work, the Shepards enjoy gardening, photography and visiting National Parks. They can often be found in their backyard garden among the ferns, orchids and tropical plants.

Hillary graduated from LSU School of Dentistry in 2015 with a Bachelors of Science degree and has worked for Dr. Andrews since. Hillary has several years of experience in the dental field as she worked as a dental assistant prior to studying dental hygiene. Hillary is friendly, compassionate and prides herself on providing her patients with excellent care. In her free time, Hillary loves cooking, reading and most importantly spending time with her husband and two beautiful girls.

Bailey is a Luling native and a proud graduate of LSU School of Dentistry. In the summer of 2018, she received her Bachelors of Science in Dental Hygiene and started work for Dr. Andrews. Bailey enjoys learning about all aspects of dentistry so she can help her patients achieve their best dental health. She also is happy to work and give back to her community and St. Charles Parish. When not at work, Bailey enjoys her family and friends and playing outside with Roux, her Labrador Retriever.

Marleen is the assistant and coordinator for our hygiene program. She works closely with the hygienists both in the clinical area, taking xrays, polishing and placing sealants and also at the front desk where she manges the schedule. Marleen has a Bachelors degree from UNO and Expanded Duty Dental Assistant Certification from LSUSD. Her husband and daughter are her world and she enjoys spending her free time with them.

Donna assists Dr. Andrews and Dr. Perez with patient care. She has worked for Dr. Andrews for over 20 years. She earned her Expanded Duty Dental Assistant certification with the charter class at LSU Dental. Donna enjoys making her patients feel comfortable during their treatment, and assisting both doctors in keeping things running smoothly. Outside of work, Donna stays busy with her husband and her triplets.

Kitty has worked for Dr. Andrews for over 30 years! She earned her Expanded Duty Dental Assistant Certification from LSU Dental. Kitty enjoys assisting Dr. Andrews with complex dentistry, making beautiful smiles and also is very good at creating a warm, relaxing atmosphere for her patients while they are in her dental chair. Away from work, Kitty enjoys her family, her two spoiled Yorkies, and cheering for the Saints.

Taylor has worked at the front desk for five years. She is a graduate of Blue Cliff College Dental Assisting Program, with an Expanded Duty Dental Assistant Certification from LSU Dental. Taylor stays busy in the office keeping up with dental insurance and handling the daily schedule. Shes the mom of three and enjoys spending time at the softball field, going fishing and tailgating at LSU games.
