Dr. Patel earned his first dental degree in India, graduating from RV Dental College and Hospital in Bengaluru in 2001. He completed a year-long hospital rotation afterward and made a career out of providing dental care for various health programs sponsored by the United Nations, including UNICEF.
He relocated to the United States in 2002 and enrolled in the prestigious New York University College of Dentistry in New York City. He graduated in 2006 and went into private practice before opening Plainsboro Family Dentistry in 2010.
At his practice, Dr. Patel is known for going above and beyond and providing care that far exceeds expectations. He brings a positive and personable attitude to his chairside manner in order to ensure that every patient experience is a positive one.
Dr. Patel also enjoys using his dental skills to give back to those in need. He travels to India twice a year to lend his expertise to free dental camps, where he provides dental care to children whose families cant afford treatment.

Had an appointment for my family of four and looking forward to the next visit. Dr.S Patel and staff were efficient, patient and explained step by step process and care. My kids, 6 and 10 were very happy. In the past I've had to deal with tears at the dentist. His assistant that cleaned, love her tats, gave one of the best cleaning I've had. Thanks Dr. Patel.

Dr. Patel was awesome. First time ever I was not afraid of fillings. I have 2 areas that has residing gums that became sensitive and Dr. Patel filled them with for me. Thank you Dr. Patel for fitting me in and taking such good care of me!

I'm really pleased with this office! After having a fraudulent experience with a dental office in North Brunswick, New Jersey, I decided to look outside of my area and came upon Plainsboro family dentistry. Dr. Abbasi was exceptionally thorough, knowledgeable, and educated me on her findings. I appreciate that she performed my cleaning as it was excellent. At no point did she try to upsell procedures as often times in my experience dentists have done. My answers were good enough.The office is also beautiful and well-maintained. I see why the reviews are so good and I will continue to get my dental needs performed here.

Dr. Patel served as the primary dentist for my family when we lived nearby. The whole experience was very positive. The best I enjoyed was the availability. I can almost always make a short appointment at an urgency like a swollen gum. Dr. Patel would even answer messages in the night. The clinic is also easy to make cleaning appointments. My family never had to miss any cleaning even during the pandemic when other clinics are all short of hygiene staff. The clinic itself is well organized and kept clean. During the pandemic, each the patient is asked to wait in a separate room which has tv entertainments. I never had to sit in a waiting room with other patients. Getting a referral from Dr. Patel is easy. Both my family members had to see an oral surgeon in the unfortunate year. Dr. Patel and his staff member quickly created referral forms without any delay. In all, I highly recommend Dr. Patel as a general dentist.

Extremely unprofessional. I was scheduled for an 8:00AM appointment, but received a call earlier in the week asking to reschedule to the next day at 8:30AM which I accepted. I show up at the new time and the receptionist tells me the system is down, asked if I knew who my hygienist was which I did not, and that I will be seen shortly for my appointment. I was waiting for 30 minutes while a few people came in and were called up almost immediately. When I spoke with the receptionist again she tells me that I'm actually scheduled for 9:30AM even though I received a text in the morning reminding me of an 8:30AM appointment, and she didn't even bother to mention the 9:30AM time when I first walked in. I had no issues with the dentist or staff the first time I was here, but this was ridiculous. Never wasting my time here again.

Dr. Patel does not use numbing/novacaine on any fillings, and does not fill cavities all the way, so the decay just comes back. If you want to be in excruciating pain, this is the dentist for you. Additionally, he also tells you that you have no cavities when you do. I went to him for three years, and he kept telling me I had no cavities, and by the time I went to a dentist who knew what they were doing, I needed a crown on one of my molars because the decay was so extensive. Additionally, Dr. Patel gave me a filling (which was only partially done), and he placed the filling directly on the biting surface, so I broke it almost immediately after having it done. A month later, I was in excruciating pain. Please do not come here if you care about your teeth and your health.

Dr. Patel is a fantastic doctor. I am scared of needles (big time) but he and his staff know that and are always very understanding and comforting. I would highly recommend Dr. Patel and his practice to anyone.

X-ray process was horrible, I won't go again if they will take my X-ray again, it seems like the lady didn't really know the angle and she took 20-30 shots. My mouth was in pain for a while after the X-ray. Cleaning experience was great and interaction with doctor was also good.

After being mistreated at another practice, we feel we can finally settle down our dentist. The office staffs are very polite. They send reminders about the appointment through text and are quick in replying emails. Dr. Patel is very efficient and patient. I was a little worried that my 5-year-old wouldn't corporate for a teeth cleaning. But Dr. Patel was very gentle and patient. My child told me it wasn't hurting at all. This is truly a place for the entire family.
