Dr. Maurice Dr. Tom has been in the private practice of pediatric dentistry since August of 1995. He received his B.S. from Illinois Wesleyan University in 1988, and went on to graduate with honors from University of Iowa College of Dentistry in 1992. Dr. Tom spent 3 years after graduation at The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, receiving a Masters Degree and completing his residency in Pediatric Dentistry. Our office has been in the local area since August of 1999. Dr. Tom is a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry, a member: of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, Illinois Society of Pediatric Dentists, American Society of Dentistry For Children, American Dental Association, Illinois State Dental Society, and the Will County Dental Society. In addition, he is an adjunct Assistant Professor in the Department of Pediatric Dentistry at the University of Iowa.
Dr. Tom and his wife Julie have two children William, and Anna. Dr. Tom enjoys traveling, snow skiing, hiking, biking, and anything to do with the outdoors. He loves sports teams including the Chicago Cubs and Green Bay Packers. He enjoys coaching his daughter in soccer, and watching his son play competitive soccer; he has become an avid soccer fan. Dr. Tom loves his job and working with children every day, he looks forward to meeting you and your child.
Stephanie has been with Plainfield Pediatric Dentistry since 2000. Her focus is to create a fantastic dental experience for the patient and their parents. Stephanie oversees how the office runs, provides dental care education and loves to make lasting positive connections with our patients and their families.
Rhonda joined Dr. Tom's team in 2000. She loves being the Practice Concierge and making sure the parents as well as the patients have a great experience. Rhonda is a big fan of country music and enjoys going to concerts.
Cathy joined Dr. Toms team in 2006. Cathys passion is educating children and parents about oral hygiene and providing a positive dental experience for children of all ages and special needs. In her spare time, she is always busy with her three grown children.
Deanna joined Dr. Tom's team in 2015 and she brings over 35 years of dental industry experience. Deanna is married and has two sons who are passionate about football. She also loves gardening and baking.
Paige joined Dr. Tom's team full time in 2017 as a graduate from Southern Illinois University. Paige loves meeting new families and helping our patients have the best dental experience. She loves to travel and her favorite vacation destination is Italy. Paige loves the Chicago Cubs.
Terese joined Dr. Toms team in 2011 and she is the oldest of five children. She is a registered nurse considering a future in pediatric nursing. Terese is an avid runner and has completed her second half marathon.

I've went here when I was younger it gave me life long trauma & dental anxiety especially when Dr Tom, was taking care of my teeth..I WOULDNT recommend this place if your child has special needs.. cuz I was a special needs child.

My son is medically complex. Dr Tom and his staff took their time to get to know his issues, listen to concerns, and did a great job of being thorough.

We love doctor Tom. He is amazing. He is wonderful with kids, so patient and practical. The dental hygienists are all amazing. Their receptionist are so kind. It's such a positive, energetic, happy place!!

If i could give this place negative stars I would. My son waited weeks to get seen and then as they are about to start the exam they tell me my insurance isn't accepted. The office manager then proceeds to blame me for the miscommunication which is completely unprofessional and insulting. She then starts making up a story about talking to my wife which was a complete lie as I am the only one who has had any contact with these people. Not once did anyone call me to tell me there was an issue. I would not trust my special needs child with these people and neither should you. My son now has to suffer through pain even longer. Dr Tom and his staff are a disappointment and a disgrace to the area.

Amazing place! They are so good with kids. They explained so well everything we needed to know. They let the parents be with the children. They arrange payment plans that fit your budget. I will never take my kids anywhere else! I can't say enough how pleased I am!

Good dentist, but the pricing is ridiculously high for the work done. The worst part is the waiting. Every time I've taken my daughter in for a visit, we've always waited at least an hour before we were taken back. At least an hour. One visit, it was a little over 2 hours. Absolutley absurd. Completely unprofessional. And unacceptable. We've found a new dentist.

Everyone is very friendly and very helpful. My son is an anxious child and the dental hygienists always make him feel so comfortable by explaining everything they are going to do as well as explaining things to him while working on his teeth.

I've been taking my special needs twins to Dr. Tom for over 15 years. Everyone is very nice and very helpful. They all go above and beyond to get the best dental care for my girls. With my girls' handicap, it is a difficult process for cleanings, but with everyone's help we get the job done. Thanks Dr. Tom and staff.

Dr. Tom and his staff are the best! The hygienists are SO patient and kind with scared and nervous kids. The front desk staff are extremely knowledgeable and understanding of questions. They send reminders for appointments which are extremely helpful for busy families.

I was the Plainfield dentistry on March 13 with my 3 year old son and Kathy (young) was so sweet and good with my son. She took her time and made him feel comfortable and she is the type of employee that makes patients come back. I'm really happy with the visits at this location everyone is really nice.
