Dr. Pla earned her Bachelors Degree in Dental Surgery with Distinction from the School of Dental Medicine, Lebanese University. She then completed the Endodontic Specialty program at St. Joseph University in Beirut and acted as consultant attach in teaching of undergraduate clinical endodontics. Moving to the US in 2004, Dr. Pla completed a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Study and Master of Science in Endodontics from Boston Universitys Goldman School of Dental Medicine.
Dr. Pla founded Pla Endodontics in 2011. Her commitment to precision and expertise are proven in her successful root canal, emergency dentalcare, surgical endodontics,and traumatic dental injury treatments. Dr. Loubna Pla expanded her practice with her partner, Dr. Kristopher Watts, to form Pla & Watts Endodontics in 2017 and to uphold her vision of advanced, patient-centered care. Former board member of the Pierce County Dental Society, Dr. Pla now serves on the board of Boston University. She is also proud to be a member and affiliate with leading, professional dental organizations, includingthe American Association of Endodontics, Amercian Dental Association, International Association of Dental Traumatology, and the Pierce County Dental Assocation.
Born and raised in Lebanon, where she was a National Volleyball team player, Dr. Pla is fluent in French and Arabic. Philanthropic and dedicated to the successes of others, she gives back to her community through her support of local businesses and schools. When away from her endodontic chair, Dr. Loubna Plaenjoys weight training, running, and skiing with her three children and Philip Pla MSM, her husband and business manager.
Dr. Watts is a Magna Cum Laude graduate of the Tufts University School of Dental Medicine from 2005. After receiving his DMD, he completed a one-year general practice residency at the University of Utah and then attended Boston Universitys Goldman School of Dental Medicine, where he completed his Postdoctoral program in Endodontics and received his Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies in 2008. He has received numerous awards and recognitions, including Deans List for High Performance in the National Boards and Dr. S. Walter Askinas Endowed Prize for Integrity and Character.
Dr. Watts met Dr. Loubna Pla when they were both residents at Boston University. Dr. Watts brings to Pla & Watts Endodontics years of experience in private practice and exceptional clinical skills in rootcanal therapy, retreatment, surgical treatment, and regenerative therapies.He utilizes microscopic technique and 3D imaging in order to provide the highest level of endodontic therapy currently available for patients.Dr. Watts is an activemember and affiliate with professionaldental organizations, includingthe American Association of Endodontics, Amercian Dental Association, International Association of Dental Traumatology, and the Pierce County Dental Assocation. When I needed a root canal my dentist sent me to Dr Watt, I first setup a meeting to talk about was would be done, cost and options. I was very pleased with the office staff and DR Watt. The next day I setup my appointment which was today. Totally a pay free root canal because I tried the new wave system. Excellent care by all at this location in Puyallup.

I just want to take the time to say that this was one of the best customer service/dental experiences I've ever had. I walked in on a Monday with a dental emergency, Dr. Watts had a full schedule and he found a way to fit me in and take care of me both efficiently and with care! The staff was very warm and welcoming as I engaged in very intelligible conversation with the front desk along with the back office staff while being prepped for my procedure. Dr. Watts explained everything thoroughly and thanked me for trusting his team with my care. I'll definitely recommend Pla & Watts to my family, friends, and colleagues. Are you looking for an Endodontist? Well Pla Watts- Endodontics is the choice to make for professional and experienced care Dr Watts and his staff are very highly trained, friendly and a caring staff! Going to just any professional for oral care of your mouth can be a scary and unnerving...but rest assured this is the office to contact for sure! Trust me as I say "I was scared to death of what to expect" on my first visit for a root canal? So now Dr Watts has now done two Root Canal's and a recent advanced "gum surgery" on me. (needed because it was caused by a "different" previous Dental facility that the work/care was not done correctly) So which caused me to have the surgery performed by Dr Watts and so I was very thankful for this because he got it taken care of before it could've caused much more damage in my mouth If you have these needs for an endodontist please call them you will not be disappointed!

I had an emergency root canal done here. Dr Pla and her team exceeded all my expectations! Frankly, I was terrified before the treatment started but I didn't feel a single thing. The "Gentle Wave" procedure they use here is truly gentle and absolutely pain free. My tooth was pain free the same day. My jaw was a little sore but that's completely normal after you get a procedure like that. Root canals aren't fun but I would always come back here if I'd need another one. Dr Pla also called me the same day in the evening to ask how I am feeling. Thank you so much Dr Pla and team, you are truly amazing!

The best experience I could hope for when in need of a root canal. My dentist referred me to a endodontist, I chose Pla & Watts and am so glad I did. Michelle was super helpful with booking and insurance. The treatment itself went super smooth, was absolutely pain-free, Dr Watts walked me through everything and his assistant was super helpful too. I was in and out under two hours, I would definitely recommend and come back for all my future endodontic needs.

Dr. Pla and her team saw me as an emergency patient scheduled that morning. That they set aside time every day for that says a lot about their team. They were able to get me out of pain within an hour of me arriving and scheduled for the needed follow up work the very next day. I always knew what was going on in the process, how much was left to do, when to expect discomfort and any time something hurt more than it needed to they immediately adjusted and made the not so fun experience of a root canal far more bearable. She called me personally both days after each proceedure to ensure I was doing well and I didn't have any questions or concerns...who does that anymore? Really amazing. Billing was quick and efficient and I knew what I was getting into before I began the proceedure - with insurance adjustments already. The only small issue I ran into was that they seemed to be short staffed both days I was there so there was a bit of sitting around waiting for something to happen in the proceedure room and at one point the prep work for beginning the proceedures had to be redone because neccessary numbing had happened too soon and wore off before it was time. Likely just a symptom of the short staffing issues.

I was recently in Puyallup and drove past Dr. Pla's endodontics office and it brought back my fondest memories of getting root canals there. No joke! I have had other root canals done at various times of my life but never as pleasant as I experienced here. Dr. Pla showed her caring and compassion of keeping me comfortable and pain free. A couple of years ago right before I retired from Boeing, I needed another root canal. My insurance couldn't cover the usual cost because I had a root canal earlier in the year. Dr. Pla understood my dire situation and worked with me so I can get this much needed care. Bless her heart! I have never felt so honored to receive such compassion. I'll never forget her and her amazing staff.

So spoke again with Michelle and Cece..Michelle lied about the events that took place and how she violated my HIPAA rights. I was told she spoke with the doctors attorney Durham Law out of Bellevue and I could look up the information myself to speak with them too. Michelle is rude and unprofessional when faced with a major mess up.. I will be reporting to the insurance commissioner and everyone in between. This woman has no business accessing private and personal information of people when she's never been properly trained! I called Durham law I spoke with a Christopher and explained that Michelle did not present the facts correctly and needs to be retrained and HIPAA standard practice! There is not a doubt in my mind that if this happened to me it has happened to other patients but the patient were not aware of their rights being violated! EDIT the supposed referral you are claiming to go off is from 2017....how and why are you patient shopping then? Why wasn't I called in 2017? I called my dentist you claimed to have gotten my information from and informed them how bad your patient practices are. While on the phone with Michelle she looked up my information and started what tooth I was referred for in 2017 and said this was what I was to be seem for... so... again your practice is covering a bigger HIPAA issue. She failed to verify who I was and what information was being shared.

I just have to say that I just had a root canal done with Dr. Pla today. Both Dr Pla and her staff were absolutely great and professional. Throughout the entire process they made sure that I was comfortable at all times (at least as comfortable as one could be with a drill in your mouth). The procedure was relatively quick and it didn't feel rushed. I know that whenever I told someone I was having a root canal done they would just cringe and say "Sorry." I know it's always been compared to something awful, but I can think of other things that are a lot worse. With that said, I do hope that I do not have to have it done again on another tooth. But if so, I would absolutely would go back to her office again and have no issues recommending her. When the numbing had finally worn off, my tooth feels the best it's felt in a few years. (Please forgive grammar and punctuation, writing has never been my forte). Thanks again.

I've seen Dr Pla for 3 root canals now. She is very kind, professional and thorough. She continually checked in with me during the procedure and even called me afterwards to see how I was feeling. The last root canal she treated was sudden and as soon as my dentist called her office to explain what was going on, she immediately squeezed me into her schedule 30 mins later for a same day root canal. Working in a health care office myself, I know how difficult it can be to accommodate same day emergencies so I was extremely grateful that she made time to see me as I was in a lot of pain. I can't say enough good things about Dr Pla and her customer service. I am very appreciative of the care I received in her office and would definitely recommend her.

I saw Dr Pla for a painful tooth. She did a root canal on that tooth. I was still in a lot of pain. She told me that tooth next to it that did have a previous root can, was not done deep enough. She recommended redoing that root canal. It was infected and she put me on antibiotics and pain medication after it was done. I was still in a lot of pain after that. She did not investigate the cause of my pain. She basically told me she had done all she could for me and if I was still in pain I should go to the emergency room. My dentist referred me to another Endodonist. He determined that I had a cracked root on the first tooth she treated. The tooth had to be pulled. I called the office to tell them what was going on, but Dr Pla did not contact me. She charged me just under $2000 for the first root canal. I requested a refund for the first root canal, but again no one contacted me. I would definitely not recommend Dr Pla. She goes through the paces to make you think she cares, but when push comes to shove, she doesn't and does not seem to be able to do a good diagnosis of the problem. In my experience, she had no problem abandoning me in a lo of pain. I'm adding an addendum to my my post. Dr Pla contacted me three times in one day a couple of days ago. She was trying to resolve some of my issues with the staff in her office and what she perceived as some serious miss communicates with her office to me. And what she was trying to clarify to me of her recommendations of me going to the emergency room. She asked me several times if her staff had given me the recommendations that she was was endorsing. When I told her this information was not relayed to me about more than one instantaneous, she commented, that this was very confusing to her. She said staff had reported differently. She told this to more than once over the period of a few weeks. However the situation had not changed. Dr Pla and I did come to an agreement that at least satisfied me financially. I am still in a lot of pain that I think could have been avoided if I had been correctly diagnosed from the beginning. While I would not see her again, I do appreciate what she did to make things as Wright as she could under the circumstances.
