Dr. Pivor graduated magna cum laude with a B.A. from New York University as a member of the academic honor society, Phi Beta Kappa. He went on to earn his D.D.S. from New York University College of Dentistry. The doctor completed his general practice residency at Maimonides Medical Center in New York City where he received advanced training in all areas of general dentistry. Dr. Pivor opened his private practice in 1978. He is a Senior Attending at Norwalk Hospital. He also taught in the postgraduate residency program at Danbury Hospital.
Dr. Pivor has worked as a volunteer at the Connecticut State Dental Association, 'Mission of Mercy' and is a consultant to the Connecticut Department of Public Health. He is a member of the American Dental Association, the Connecticut State Dental Association, and the Norwalk Dental Society. In 2009 and 2011, Dr. Pivor was voted one of Connecticut Magazine 's Top Dentists, and, in 2011, was voted one of America 's Top Dentists by the Consumer Research Council of America.
On a personal note, Dr. Pivor is married to his high school sweetheart, Holly. They are the proud parents of two sons; Mike, married to Heather; and Ken, married to Erica. With a love of the outdoors, Dr. Pivor spends time kayaking, biking, hiking, and going on adventure trips. He also enjoys working out at the gym. An avid Yankees fan, the doctor also loves to read and listen to jazz. And, after 36 years of marriage and loving food, he has started to learn how to cook.
Active in the community, Dr. Pivor and his wife co-chair the Norwalk Hospital Whittingham Cancer Center Walk/Run. He is also co-facilitator of a support group for partners of breast cancer patients at Norwalk Hospital.
Highly trained in each of their fields, the friendly, professional staff creates a phenomenal team. They contribute a variety of skills to consistently offer superior care to patients and provide great support to Dr. Pivor.
As the office manager, Rose has a comprehensive overview of the practice. Her amazing multitasking skills combined with her compassion make Rose someone both our patients and the team rely upon to answer questions and solve problems. Her knowledge of dental insurance will help you to maximize your insurance reimbursement.
Raquel assists Dr. Pivor during dental treatment. Her training and experience provide the doctor with a second set of hands. With her warm, friendly chairside manner, Raquel makes our patients feel safe and well cared for.

I have been going to Dr. Pivor since I was 6 years old. He is the only dentist I have ever been to and the only dentist I would ever want to go to. His staff are all such kind hearted people who really care about their patients. Dr. Pivor takes time with all his patients to make sure they feel comfortable and will sit and talk with you until he answers all of your questions/concerns. I look forward to going to my routine dental cleanings every 6 months. Thank you Dr. Pivor!!

I have been a patient of Dr. Pivor for a few years now and I recommend him to everyone. My husband and two daughters are also patients because he's great with adults and with children. With my children, he's really good with the preventative care and they don't object to the visits, which is a win in itself. My husband and I have had some restorative care that has been easy, pain-free and with great results. The entire staff is helpful, kind and professional and makes scheduling and appointments easy.

Dr. Pivor is a trustworthy and kind dentist. He is also great with small children (even my five year old is excited to go to the dentist!). The dental hygienists are very gentle during the cleanings, which I appreciate as I have sensitive gums. Highly recommended.
