A Pittsburgh native and graduate of Belle Vernon Area High School, Dr. Gobbie obtained a B.S. Degree at the University of Notre Dame. His dental training was at the University of Pittsburgh where he was awarded his Doctorate in Dental Medicine in 1984. In addition, Dr. Gobbie completed a three-year Orthodontic residency at the University of Pittsburgh in 1987. During his residency, Dr. Gobbie was on the teaching staff of the Orthodontic Department, coordinated the department's Dento-Facial Abnormality Clinic, and completed the requirements necessary to obtain a Masters Degree in Dental Science.
Dr. Gobbie has been in the exclusive, private practice of Orthodontics in the Pittsburgh area since 1988. He particularly enjoys using early intervention to correct developmental problems in young children, as well as the challenge of correcting severe and complex bites in adults.
George Deme DMD, MDS spent his childhood between the United States and Greece. His father was also an orthodontist, as well as a professor at the University of Pittsburgh. For him, it was growing up with an orthodontist dad that sparked his interest in the field.
In 1986, Dr. George Deme received his B.S in Neurobiology from the University of Pittsburgh and was awarded early admittance to the School of Dental Medicine at the University of Pittsburgh. Upon receiving his DMD in 1990, he went into private practice in Pittsburgh and Boston and in 1995 completed his orthodontic training and Masters of Dental Science in Oral Biology at Boston University.
Dr. Deme started his private practice in 1990, moved it to Athens, Greece in 1995, and returned to Pittsburgh with his family in 2013. His years in Europe gave him a unique perspective on patient care, and he takes a meticulous, one-case-at-a-time approach to orthodontics.

Great orthodontist. They're a very quick and a very personable staff. Especially Dr. Deme, he always remembers previous conversations with me to ask how my job is and how my life has been since my previous appointment. I love this orthodontist office. Definitely the best orthodontist to go to

iam the third member of my family plus my wife thats 4 of us that had our invisalign done by Dr Deme and his staff, i cant say enough how happy iam with the whole process, i felt welcome from the first day i came into the office, the staff was incredible! from miss Marla to Miss noel and really everyone, they were very flexible with scheduling and true professionals, i would give them 100 stars if i could. i highly recommend them! thank you for the amazing work and services Dr Deme. love Elijah Diallo

Pittsburgh Ortho Group in Moon is terrific! We had an initial consultation for my son, and the office staff was very friendly, professional, knowledgeable, sensitive, and informative... we immediately felt at ease. She listened to our concerns and conveyed them to Dr. Gobbie. He took the time to evaluate, present treatment options (using visuals to show future progression), and made sure we fully understood. He is so generous, and also takes time with each child patient to make them laugh and helps build their confidence during their time in the chair. Also, they are always willing to make accommodations when we need an emergency appointment. The overall experience has been so positive. I am so blessed to have found them, and I would HIGHLY recommend them to anyone looking for a phenomenal dental practice.

Dr Deme is an amazing orthodontist and is very friendly, inviting,and funny. He is definitely my favorite part of going to the office. The rest of the staff is also incredibly helpful and friendly. Also there is never a long wait to be seen, which is helpful for a busy schedule. Definitely recommend going here.

I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Gobbie and the amazing team at the Moon office! They immediately picked up on how nervous my son was about his appointment and went above and beyond to make sure he was comfortable. Everyone was so friendly and patient with him. It is very obvious that they really care about their patients. We are just getting started but I am so glad that we chose them for his orthodontic care; his smile is in good hands!

Very personable, honest, caring and easy to talk with. Staff are friendly and the offices are well kept. Have had to use different locations through the years due to the kids schedules and it was never an issue.

The staff is wonderful at this location! They continue to go above and beyond to assist our family with orthodontic care. As a pediatric therapist, I value the time and compassion both Dr. Gobbie and Dr. Deme have shown. They have gained a rapport with our family and personally know each of my children's unique needs. My daughter's treatment showed results quickly (using newer technology), which resulted in a shorter wait time to start the brace phase. Recently, the practice generously assisted getting us in quickly for a new retainer when it went missing. Thank you!!! The Pittsburgh Orthodontic Group has an efficient office to get you in quickly and safely. I feel very lucky to have met such a caring team of doctors and staff.

Dr. Gobbie and Dr. Deme are two of the most amazing men you will ever meet. The entire staff makes you feel welcome and you can tell they truly have your best interests at heart. We are a busy family with a variety of activities but never have to worry as they always fit us in. My two boys have the most beautiful smiles and we owe it all to them!

Pittsburgh Orthodontic Group is excellent! Communication has been great with both myself and my daughter. All staff members that we have interacted with have been very friendly and accommodating. The cost was competitive with other places that we looked at. Also, can't beat the location, which is less than 5 minutes from Moon Schools...so convenient for appointments during school hours! Just grab your kid, take them to their appointment, then drop them right back off at school. We are very happy with results with our daughter and will be bringing our son this summer to start working on his braces. Thank you!
