All of the medical personnel were very calming and encouraging during the extraction procedure. My brother was grateful for their interactions and impressed with their skills.

My daughter was referred here by her orthodontist for a consult for wisdom teeth extraction. Their locations closest to us could not see her until late in October so we agreed to travel to their South Hills location despite the extra hour of travel. I completed their online forms over two weeks ago, made arrangements for my younger child's care, took my daughter out of school, drove to her appointment an hour away only to be called a few minutes out to be told they could not see her because they do not take our secondary insurance. I asked if they could just bill the primary insurance and we pay the rest but they refused. They wouldn't even give my daughter an excuse for the school she has now missed. I'll take my business somewhere else.

I would give 10 stars if I could. So thankful for Dr. Smiga, the anesthesiologist, and all staff for taking such great care of me. They were extremely comforting, professional, honest, knowledgeable, and straight to the point. I have terrible anxiety in any medical/dental office, but I felt at ease in their hands. They gave me clear instructions for pre and post care. Surgery was quick and the process was seamless. If you are looking to choose an oral surgeon, I highly recommend. Thank you, Pittsburgh Oral Surgery team! There's clearly a reason for the many awards displayed in your office.

It was easier than I thought to get an extraction. It was painless and in less time than I thought it would be. No after effects and it healed nicely. This is a good place to have this kind of work done.

Apologies in advance for the long review. Have to say this is a great office to go to, I wouldn't recommend any other place but here. First off I was so happy when I called to set up a wisdom teeth consultation and they were able to accept my health insurance after calling multiple different oral surgeon offices and almost wanting to give up until I came upon this office and the staff member I talked to was great and I was able to set up an appointment and it was easy peasy. Once I set up an appointment and the day I had my first appointment, right when I walked into the office. The atmosphere of the office and the staff members was great, everyone was so nice and welcoming from the start. The consultation was great, Dr.Hartman gave me the low down of what was going to happen during the surgery and what anesthesia they were giving me and telling me what foods I could and couldn't eat after surgery and was great at explaining the whole surgery. I even recommended this office to someone that I work with that had to get her sons wisdom teeth removed literally right after I had my first appointment because of how impressed I was with this place. Never felt so welcomed and so cared for in a doctors office before. Then the day of surgery came and I got checked in at the office and I was taken back right away and sat in the dentist chair and Dr.Hartman and the anesthesiologist came in and made sure I was ready for surgery and put the laughing gas mask on me and stuck the IV in my hand and one minute I was talking to the anesthesiologist and next thing I knew I was done with surgery sort of awake, couldn't feel my face and it only took about 40 minutes max at least that's what my brother told me but very fast surgery and pain free until the pain meds and numbing stuff wore off but over all, the surgery went great, the staff here are all great and so welcoming to their patients and you're mouth will heal up nicely if you follow the directions that they give you. Definitely recommend this office to anybody that has to get any type of mouth or teeth surgery done.

Immediately, the office worker made me feel confident in my decision to come here. In the surgery room the doctor speaks with you as well as the anesthesiologist for the procedure. I must admit, they were cool and fun. I felt immediately comfortable. Not only did I not feel anything nor remember anything, I also woke up pain free. (Pain comes later). Highly-qualified, highly recommended with excellent customer service. Dr. Ikner was my surgeon.

Had an excellent experience with Dr. Hartman. Needed to remove 3 implanted wisdom teeth and received top quality care. The doctor even called me after the surgery to ask if everything is going well, very nice ! After the surgery I also had a few follow up appointments to clear all my questions/concerns Everyone is professional and easy to talk to, I'm recommending this place to everyone at my work

I had EIGHT wisdom teeth I needed removed, and two cysts that were on my wisdom teeth. Was getting sinus infections related to my wisdom teeth too. I went to another oral surgeon in Wexford, and I didn't like what he told me... So I got a second opinion from Dr. Hartman. I'm so glad I did! He answered my questions about the surgery and my concerns about anesthesia. After the surgery, I only had moderate pain that was controlled by over-the-counter pain meds. Dr. Hartman is good at what he does! Jennette in the front office was also very kind to me. She was patient with me and all my questions. She understood my concerns and did her best to try to fix hiccups quickly. Definitely recommend the team at this office!

For the surgery it was very friendly staff but for calling me back for how much I would pay for surgery they forget to call me until the day of my surgery when I walked into the office and when I called the next the day because I was still experiencing bleeding and wanted some medical advice back nurse told me she or the doctor would call me back no one ever called me back I felt pretty forgotten twice.

Wisdom Tooth extraction is never an easy thing, especially when you have had an unpleasant experience years ago which led to my 7 months of dealing with Paresthesia. So you can imagine my anxiety going in for another wisdom tooth removal, years after putting it off due to my previous unpleasant experience. Well, Pittsburgh Oral surgery totally made this experience so comfortable that I wish I had used them for my first wisdom tooth extraction. They are the best in the business!!

Great location (South Hills/Ft Couch Rd) with fantastic staff and doctors! My anesthesiologist (so sorry to forget his name but I was out of it haha, maybe John) was wonderful and really put me at ease and took great care of me. Dr Hartman perfromed my extractions excellently, minimally invasive for impacted teeth and even called to check up on me the next day. Really great bedside manner, very professional yet still relatable and down to earth. Hopefully I never have to see them again, but if I do, I will go here. Highly reccommended, thank you.

I had as good an experience one could hope to have when visiting an oral surgeon. The staff were kind, patient and took their time explain every part of my procedure from billing to anesthesia. Overall I felt very well taken care of and would highly recommend them to anyone in need of an oral surgeon.

Wanted to put zero stars. Was referred here by dentist because I had tooth removal 4 weeks before by another oral surgeon. This "surgeon" had left roots of teeth behind causing 2 SEVERE infections and an emergency room visit. Also pulled half of a tooth that was not to be pulled and continued to pull teeth after anesthesia wore off. Not only did they offer me an appointment in 2 MONTHS, but they advised that I return to the previous surgeon who had caused the problem in the first place. It is a 25 minute procedure. Any doctor who cannot rearrange their schedule to fit in a 25 minute visit to help a person who is in severe pain and is carrying around 2 infections should lose their license to practice. That is the very definition of "DOING HARM". If people continue to accept this type of behavior by so called professionals as normal, the problem will only get worse.

I just got three wisdom teeth out today. Everyone from the front desk to Dr. Hartman and the anesthesiologist were friendly and respectful and great at what they do. I'd definitely recommend this place to anyone and will be back if I should have any dental issues in the future. Thanks for making it a smooth and calming experience.

This was the BEST experience I every had with oral surgery!!! My son had his wisdom teeth removed. The staff was very polite and professional. Dr. Smiga was very patient, taking his time to explain the procedure and the care after. I would highly recommend this group!!! Thank you for a wonderful experience!
