Dr. Alexis Pelekanos is proud to be a skilled and competent dentist from the highly esteemed University of Southern California. She graduated magna cum laude at USC with a bachelors degree in Psychology, a minor in Natural Science, and a doctorate in Dental Surgery. Dr. Pelekanos has earned her accreditation with the International Academy of Oral Medicine and Toxicology (IAOMT). The professional associations she is affiliated with include the American Dental Association, Phi Beta Kappa, and Alpha Lambda Dental. She has been featured in Maniac Magazine with appearances in the Women of Power and Pittsburgh Icons issues.
In her free time, Dr. Pelekanos likes to spend time with her husband, her two kids (Athena and Konstantine), her family, and friends. She loves music, exercise, travel, and rooting for her hometown Steelers, Pirates, and Penguins. She couldnt live without a good cup of coffee, prayer time, great Greek food, dental floss, and wine!
My training was rigorous and very high-tech, and enjoy esthetic and restorative dentistry. My philosophy is to treat my patients like my own family. I am friendly, gentle, skilled, and extremely passionate about my work. I will offer you the opportunity to smile with pride and confidence.

An amazing dental experience with a truly whole body healing focus. Worth every bit of the long-term investment. The full care team is top notch (Dr. Michele, Dr. Tammy, Nancy, Ashley, Marge, Taylor, Dr. Alexis, Max and Abby) and treats each patient with a high-level of care and compassion. Super knowledgable and educates along the way. AND the materials and procedures they use are high-quality. I highly recommend PCHD!

After having several painful and terrifying dental appointments, I finally found this fantastic group of professionals. I mistakenly had a few Mercury fillings placed that affected my health, so I needed them replaced. I made an appointment quickly and I have no regrets. From the start, I was met with kind and compassionate providers who explained my treatment and made me feel at ease. They specialize in Mercury removal and follow specific protocols, so that patients have the least amount of Mercury exposure possible. I was also very pleased that they do not use flouride, a toxic chemical most dentists use. Not once did I feel like I was being pushed in to a treatment and I was never talked down to. You'd be surprised at the amount of providers who can't get that right. The only drawback is that the price is higher than a conventional dentist's office. However, that will not stop me from coming back time and time again because of the exceptional level of care I received. So thankful!

I'm fortunate to have them to take care of my dental needs. I was looking for the dentist who can properly remove silver/amalgam filings out of my mouth. I didn't have any severe symptoms but I wanted to make sure I prepare for the future baby I would conceive as well as my own health. It took me about two months to get all the procedure done with a few visits and the time I spent at their office was smooth and comfortable. I sense that I feel much lighter physically and mentally. Anyone who is concerned with their silver fillings, they can give you the right advices and take care of your problems professionally. Thank you for all the great people who took care of my needs!

Excellent place for wholistic health and dentistry needs. I have had severe headaches for 2 months and after fixing my tooth and providing me with additional natural supplements I have been headache free 90% of the time! THANK YOU!!

There was a time I feared dentistry, but no longer. When I enter Dr. Tammy's office it is bright, modern and the staff cheerful. I am mercury free and my mouth is pain free. I highly recommend The Center for Holistic Dentistry. I feel like they care.

I chose the Pittsburgh Center for Holistic Dentistry because I wanted to work with a holistic dentist that practiced safe amalgam removal. I was very impressed when I walked in the door. The office is warm and inviting and the staff is caring and compassionate. This group is beyond knowledgeable and their office and practices are state-or-the-art. All the amazing doctors and incredible staff are constantly keeping up to date on the latest and safest technologies. They really seem to love their work and the happy and upbeat office reflects this attitude. You will be well taken care of!

My experience has been nothing but healthy for myself and my son since making the decision to go out-of-network to break the cycle of repetitive processes insurance companies will reimburse their network dentists for treating one tooth. I have to thank Dr. DeGregorio for getting my overall health to the best it can be with proper dental care and seeing that my son's jaw issue was resolved during the critical growth period of a teenager. Going to the dentist is now an enjoyable, healthy, learning process I look forward to scheduling.
