Kathy has been with our team for 20+ years. She keeps abreast of local happenings by way of her grandkids. Licensed as a CDA in Massachusetts, she is in charge of our OSHA and Sterilization protocols, keeping everyone on their toes and ensuring strict adherence to the latest requirements. Involved in arts and crafts, she surprises us all around Christmas time with her decorative gifts. She is a pleasure to work with and is a kind and caring person for your children.
Jill is a certified and Massachusetts-licensed dental assistant having graduated from STCC in 1988. She has worked in a number of different dental settings and is knowledgeable in working with developmentally challenged children. Her outside interests include volunteering with the national Great Pyrenees dog rescue team and doing stained glass.
Here at Pioneer Valley Pediatric Dentistry, we are proud to specialize in pediatric dentistry. We truly believe in starting children off right when it comes to their dental health. It is our goal to ensure that each visit goes well so that they think of the dentists office as a good place. Our entire staff is wonderful with children, allowing them to relax while we care for their teeth.
Our dentists and staff have received extra training for primary teeth. Our goal is to protect your childrens teeth so they can eat and speak correctly. We will do whatever we can to help your children have the bright smiles they deserve.
Dr. Ashish Parameswaran received his Bachelors degree in Engineering at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, with a concentration in Biomedical Engineering. He then went on for post graduate studies at the New Jersey Dental School (UMDNJ), where he received a degree as Doctor of Dental Medicine (D.M.D.).
His interest in treating children, adolescents, and patients with special needs lead him to specialize as a Pediatric Dentist at Stony Brook University Hospital School of Dental Medicine, where he served as Chief Resident. After working in private practices in Western and Southern New Jersey, Dr. Ashish decided to move to western Massachusetts to join Dr. Romans practice in Greenfield, MA.
During your first visit, we review the patients medical and dental history. Dr. Ashish will examine your childs teeth and depending on circumstances, a cleaning and fluoride application will be performed. It is also possible that certain x-rays may be taken. However, the most time will be spent engaging the child and the parents to put them at ease and answer any questions they may have. We will go over oral hygiene and dietary recommendations.
We recommend that your child visit us every six months. On these visits we will clean and polish their teeth, take necessary x-rays, and provide a thorough examination to insure a healthy mouth and to intercept any incipient problems.
We emphasize the importance of good preventive dental care for children. Establishing good home care habits including diet, brushing, and flossing are extremely important to your childs oral health. Methods such as fluoride treatments and sealants can also be extremely effective in helping your child avoid tooth decay.
By the time a child reaches the teen years 90% of his or her facial growth has been completed. This is why early orthodontic diagnosis is extremely important in minimizing both the length and extent of orthodontic treatment. Crowded teeth, missing or extracted teeth, a poorly aligned bite speech and chewing difficulties are all signs of problems that can be corrected with proper space maintainers and or orthodontic treatment.
The comfort and confidence of both children and parents before, during and after their visits to our office is of primary importance to us. We adhere to the strictest OSHA sterilization guidelines and utilize the most modern, effective sterilization equipment and methods offering your child effective and personal care in a safe environment.

Just had our first appointment for my little one and so far so good! Was really easy to setup our appointment, staff was friendly and helpful, and the doctor was good with my baby and answered all my questions. Great experience so far!

Amazing dentist and assistants, my son is usually very weary of people near his face but they really knew how to put him at ease and do his first appointment with no problems! This will definitely be his permanent dentist!

Most wonderful people. I was late today I thought my appointment was at 12:15 for my kids for the dentist and it was actually noon but they still took us in and they did a fabulous job 10 out of 10 recommend

I can't say enough good things about this practice! Dr. Ashish is so very kind to our son and has so much patience for ALL of my questions. Our son needed extensive work to his entire mouth and the surgery was flawless without any complications. His follow up post operatively and preventative care was extremely thorough. His office staff are always warm and welcoming. He's very knowledgeable and his kind, calm demeanor always puts our son at ease. I highly recommend this practice and Dr. Ashish! We our so grateful to have found him for our son's dental care. We have also recommended him to many others and they have also been extremely satisfied with the care their children received.

I highly recommend Pioneer Valley Pediartric, our son has been a patient there for five plus years. The only reason I did not leave five stars today...HATE the masking policy STILL being forced.

Friendly staff! My 5 year old son wasn't worried about his first visit because the hygienist explained what she was doing every step of the way. The dentist had a calm demeanor and answered any questions I had. The woman in billing helped me figure out some insurance issues, and was very patient and kind. Highly recommend!

The dental hygienist we had was absolutely amazing with my young son. She had him "assist" which helped to ease him, he was laughing and completely relaxed. It made for a very comfortable situation and he won't be afraid to go back, thank you! Dr. Ashish is amazing, very friendly and took the time to answer all our questions- he also did very well with my son. The reason for the 4 Star review - I do wish they had more privacy available, there are 3 chairs all in the same medium sized room. I also wasn't super impressed when the receptionist demanded that I book our 6 month appointment while there, instead of asking if I would like to do so. Overall such a great experience for my son (who has been going to them since he was a baby) and I highly recommend them!

Couldn't love this dentist more! We have been going for 3 years, the staff is warm, kind, and so good with my girls. I have one daughter that often feels scared and they let me lay with her if she needs it. As time has gone by she's been able to climb up all by herself and feels safe with the assistants and the dentist! Highly recommend!

Dr Ashish and his staff are absolutely fantastic. My 6 year old isn't afraid of the dentist anymore and actually gets excited to go now! Dr Ashish is amazing with kids and has so much patience, even when my almost 3 y/o is crying and doesn't want to show him her teeth! Anyone with children should bring them here?
