After completing a rigorous continuum ondental implants, Dr. Mohajir has achieved Mastership status with the American Dental Implant Association. He is also a member of the American College of Maxillofacial Implantology. This advanced training has given him the tools and experience necessary to confidently place and restore dental implants throughout the jaw. He is also a member of the American Dental Association, the Illinois State Dental Society, and the Chicago Dental Society. He continues his postdoctoral education with seminars and study programs, keeping him current with the latest breakthroughs in dental technology.

Dr. Durante grew up in Bolingbrook, Illinois. She received her undergraduate degree at the University of Dayton and attended the University of Illinois at Chicago, where she received her dental degree. She has been practicing for nine years and is an active member of the Chicago Dental Society, American Dental Association, and Will County Dental Society. Her passion for dentistry grows each and every day as she interacts with her patients. She enjoys hiking, Blackhawks hockey, Cubs baseball, cooking with her family for quality time, and most importantly, smiling.
Dr. Mustafa Alkhawaja was raised in the south suburbs of Chicago. He attended dental school at the University of Illinois at Chicago, where he attained his dental degree. After graduation, he returned to the Chicago suburbs where he is now serving his community. His goal and passion have always been to provide quality care in the most comfortable setting possible. His love for dentistry ensures he continuously broadens his skills through continuing education courses and seminars. This enables him to excel in his field and effectively provide a wide range of treatment options.
Dr. Mustafa is a certified Invisalign provider, a great clear braces choice with no metal brackets or wires. He is a member of the American Dental Association as well as a part of the local chapter Illinois State Dental Society and the Chicago Dental Society. Outside the office, he enjoys spending his time with his wife. He also enjoys outdoor activities and sports as well as spending time at the gym focusing on his health.
Dr. Syed Shahabuddin was born and raised in the northwest suburbs of Chicago and graduated from Indiana University School of Dentistry with distinction. He prides himself on the relationships he builds with his patients. Dental visits usually arent fun for anybody, and his aim is to ease stress with his warm personality. He has spent his free time learning dental implants and advanced cosmetic dental procedures in order to best help his patients.

Dr. Shammaa received his dental degree from the University of Minnesota and his postgraduate certificate and Master of Science degree in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics from West Virginia University. He is an active member of the American Association of Orthodontists, the American Dental Association, and several other professional organizations. He is certified and has valuable experience treating patients using Invisalign, TADs (mini implants), lingual braces, Wilckodontics, orthognathic, surgical cases, and multiple other orthodontics techniques.

Michele has been part of thePinewood Dentalteam from day one. This experience has made her our most versatile team member. As office manager, she oversees the day-to-day operations of the practice, she assists chair-side as needed, and she also serves as lead technician for our in-house lab cases. Michele has four wonderful children at home and enjoys going camping and boating with her family whenever she can.
Nicci joined the team at Pinewood Dental in early 2012. She graduated from Prairie State College with an Associate of Applied Science in Dental Hygiene. Patients love her gentle touch and attention to detail. She enjoys educating our patients on how to maintain healthy smiles and always puts the concerns of the patient first. In addition to basic cleanings, Nicci handles the treatment of our patients withperiodontaldisease and helps them through all stages of treatment. She also places dental sealants for children to help protect against tooth decay. She is committed to furthering her education through lectures and seminars to keep her current on the latest advancements in dental hygiene. Nicci enjoys spending time with family and friends and loves to travel.
Diana has been a dental assistant since 2007. She attained her certification in sealants and coronal polishing from the University of Illinois at Chicago and has additional training in CAD/CAM dentistry and various specialty procedures. She joined the Pinewood Dental team in 2016. She loves working in the dental field and advocating for her patients dental health. She is a dedicated mom, and in her spare time she enjoys meditating and reading.
Fareha was born and raised in central Illinois. She graduated from Parkland College as a registered dental hygienist in 2016 and joined the Pinewood team shortly after. She is passionate about giving people a positive dental experience and helping them maintain their dental health. She is most known around the office for her talkative nature and her attention to detail. In her spare time, Fareha enjoys spending time with family (including her two kitties), exploring the city of Chicago, and dedicating her time to community service.
Mackenzie joined the Pinewood Dental team in 2020, sparking her interest in the dental field. She is currently attending Joliet Junior College to complete her prerequisites with the goal of pursuing a career in dental hygiene. She enjoys the social interaction that comes with being at the front desk, greeting patients as they enter and making them feel comfortable in the dental environment. She believes that welcoming people in with a warm smile and a friendly attitude is the first step to breaking down any anxiety they may have about their visit. In her spare time she enjoys going to Pine Lake and Lake Shafer and boating with friends and family. She also likes practicing makeup looks and listening to music.
Karina has been part of the Pinewood Dental team since 2020. She is a registered dental hygienist who graduated from Kennedy King College in 2016. She then continued her education by acquiring her bachelors degree in community health and is currently working on getting her masters. Karina is passionate about educating her patients while also providing excellent dental care. Her patients appreciate her gentle touch and her attention to detail. In her spare time she enjoys traveling, dancing, and cooking.
Katie graduated from Southern Illinois University with her bachelors degree in dental hygiene. During her education in Carbondale, she enjoyed volunteering at events such as Special Olympics Special Smiles, the yearly Give Kids a Smile Day, and sealant and fluoride programs. She joined the Pinewood Dental team in 2020. She has a passion for making people feel confident about their smiles and educating patients of all ages on their personalized oral hygiene status and routine. In her free time, Katie enjoys spending time with her family and dogs as well as playing card and board games.
