Your tooth consists of two main parts: the crown, which is that part of the tooth above the gum and visible in your mouth; and the root or roots, which is that part of the tooth that lies beneath the gum and is surrounded by bone. Inside each root is a channel that runs the length of the tooth. This channel is the root canal and contains the pulp (nerves, blood vessels, and soft tissue), which is often referred to as the nerve of the tooth. The pulp may be irreversibly damaged by bacteria associated with decay, very deep restorations, fractures, trauma, or periodontal disease.
In order to preserve a tooth in which this has occurred, it is necessary to remove the diseased pulp tissue. This procedure is known as endodontic therapy. Since endodontic therapy is concerned with removing only the pulp from the root canal, the root will continue to function normally because the supporting tissues remain intact. It is advisable to remove the injured pulp because it may become infected or act as an irritant to the tissues surrounding the tooth.
Dr. Williamsis a graduate of Clearwater Central Catholic High School. He received his undergraduate degree from Florida State University in 1997 and his dental degree from New York University in 2002. After dental school, Dr. Williams completed a 1 year hospital based general practice residency in New York City. During the residency Dr. Williams was able to gain proficiency in all areas of clinical dentistry with a specific emphasis on oral surgery and special patient care.He practiced General Dentistry for 3 years prior to receiving his post-doctoral training in Endodontics from NYU, finishing the program in 2008. He then relocated back to the Tampa Bay area and started working in Hernando County at a private Endodontic practice. In February 2012, Dr. Williams joined our practice and brings with himhis knowledge and expertise in Microendodontics (using a microscope), CBCT (Cone BeamComputed Tomography) and pain control.
Having Dr. Williams as part of our team, allows us to be even more available to care for our patients when they are in pain. Dr. Williams shares our same philosophy and commitment to excellent patient care and providing the best possible endodontic experience for our patients.

Dr. Gari and assistant Tracy were the best team I have ever had working on my teeth. They were fast and very focused also the pain after my root canal was basically minimal I didn't even have to use my i ibuprofen there was no soreness at all. The prices a very fair and affordable if I could give 6 stars I would.

Pinellas Endodontics bottom line up front: OUTSTANDING highly recommend! I had an appointment with Dr Williams for a root canal. I was also having a problem with TMJ at the time of my initial appointment. I can not stress enough how professional, knowledgeable, and concerned Dr.Williams is for his patients. After a full exam, treatment plan and referral to an oral surgeon fully explaining everything and answering all my questions. I took his advice and rescheduled after I saw the oral surgeon. I moved forward with the treatment plan. After the treatment plan I went back for my root canal. Dr. Williams and Lana were absolutely amazing. I didn't feel anything; had no problems during the root canal procedure and no problems with TMJ. Later that evening, the next day, and now a week after the procedure no pain or discomfort. The day after the procedure I received a phone call from Dr. Williams himself to see how I was feeling. Again, I highly recommend Dr. Williams for care you may need in regards for your endodontic care.

I cannot say enough about Dr. Williams and his wonderful staff. From the moment you walk through the door till the time you leave, you are warmly greeted, immediately put at ease and well cared for. Dr. Williams was able to correct a previous root canal procedure (that was performed by a general dentist) that had gone awry. And he was able to save my crown! The effected tooth not only feels better but my mouth is healthier. I will never have another endodontic procedure done anywhere else but here.

Was referred from the VA for a root canal. It was one of the best dental experiences I've ever had. Such great, pain free, quick treatment and the endodontist called to follow up the next day to see how I was doing. I would recommend this office to anyone needing a root canal.

They're amazing! I had to get a root canal last year for the first time and I can't believe how good of an experience it was! Getting a root canal is daunting for anyone, but they were very comforting, they explained everything throughly and there was literally no pain! If you need a root canal, you should definitely go here!

Amazing amazing amazing I can't rant enough about and endodontics office! Just from the very beginning from the front desk staff to the dentist and dentist assistants, all sooo nice and caring. Dr. Gari and assistant Lana was amazing talked me through each step helped keep me calm and comfortable during my root canal. The office was able to get me in asap as an emergency and had me feeling like myself again the next day! Dr. Gari called me personally the next day to make sure I was doing better after my procedure. I highly recommend Pinellas Endodontics!

Tracy and Dr Gary did a great job on my root canal. They were both very comforting and professional. If you are in need of oral surgery, I would suggest that this be the first and last place you go. In addition, the office staff were welcoming and very helpful.
