I moved to Maine with my family when I was 13 and graduated from Portland High School four years later. I went on to attend Bates College in Lewiston where I received my Bachelors degree in Biology. After a stint as a research assistant at Harvard Medical School in Boston, I attended the New York University College of Dentistry where I earned my DDS degree. Following dental school, I completed my residency at Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York. I have been with the practice since returning to Maine in 2007.
I have been inspired to become a health care professional by my late grandmother who was an operating room nurse. I chose to become a dentist because to me dentistry is the perfect mix of science and art. It is extremely rewarding to help patients maintain their oral health and achieve their aesthetic goals.
I place high priority on keeping my clinical skills up-to-date to provide my patients with the best possible care. I regularly attend continuing education courses and seminars and I am a pre-fellow of Academy of General Dentistry. I am also a member of American Dental Association and Maine Dental Association.
I live in Falmouth with my husband, two boys, and our pet rabbit. I love educating children about dental health and regularly volunteer at local schools, including the Falmouth school system. I also enjoy cooking, running, and traveling with my family.

My son and I have both been going to Dr. BABAYAN for dental care for the last several years. She and her team listen, take their time with us, are very caring, and offer quality dental care. I will continue to get my cleanings and other procedures done at Dr. BABAYAN's office.

I went to this practice and had to get a cleaning. They gave me novocatine and I developed a quite bad, but not life threatening, reaction to it. Things calmed down and they did half of the cleaning, so they split the cleaning in two times. The second time they gave me Novocatine again!!! I was very scared of the dentist because of my childhood experience (and I told them) and now I'm TRAUMATIZED forever. Novicatine is not really used anymore because of the frequent bad side effects -but is cheaper than other local anesthesias - and they obviously not care. I've been at other dentist and never had this. They weren't also capable of finding the right pharmacy to sent my prescription to and did nothing to figure what's was happening. This was the worst dentist experience I had in my life and I paid 500$ for it on top of that. Also practice is outdated and not clean. Trust me, STAY AWAY.

Dr. Babayan and her team are very caring, knowledgeable, and attentive to patients needs. My interactions with the front desk has always been very pleasant and positive. I have been a patient at this office for over 20 years. I have always received the best care from everyone in the office. My teeth and gums always feel so clean and healthy after my hygienist Karen is done cleaning them! Dr. Babayan is a caring and compassionate dentist. On the occasions I have had to have filings done, she was very gentle and thorough. You can tell she is an expert at her craft and takes great pride in her practice. Even after moving from Maine to New Hampshire years ago, I still make the 1.5 hour trek twice a year for my cleanings (or more for other dental work if necessary) to this office because I am reluctant to try and find another office closer to my home that would provide me with the same level of care and service I have always received here.

I have been a client of PineTree Dental for many years. Over the years I have experienced the front office staff as challenging due to their occasional rude and aggressive manner but have have remained loyale to the office because of Karen, a hygienist, who is kind, knowledgeable and experienced. I recommended this practice to my partner because of my fondness for Karen. Today, I am canceling my upcoming appointment and leaving this practice immediately due to the condescending attitude and inept customer service of the front office staff. My partner was unceremoniously asked to find another provider which he is only too happy to do. The unfortunate thing is that all of this is the result of calling this office to discuss a bill. My partner asked to speak directly with the dentist to better understand the clinical elements of a standard procedure that is typically covered -to better understand why it wasn't in his case. He was told the dentist was too busy and that this office person would handle it on her behalf. After first suggesting that he must not have realized that he had paid this charge in the past, she then seemed to have a moment of clarity and stated "oh yes, we did change some of our coding practices in the last year". When he repeated his desire to speak directly with the dentist he was told that he "was not a good fit" for the practice and should seek treatment elsewhere. Dr. Babayan appears to be a good dentist. Unfortunately, she has hired rude, ill tempered individuals to be the face of her business and to interact on her behalf with her most valuable commodity- her clients.

What a wonderful first experience here at Pine Tree Dental. Super friendly staff, plus very well educated. I have quite crippling dental anxiety and Dr. Babayan and her team went above and beyond to make my experience a positive one. I am very grateful and not nearly as scared as I'd normally be to return for a second appointment. Best dentist office I've been to! Highly Recommended!

I have been going to this practice since I was a little kid. I cannot begin to describe how amazing the team is here at Pine Tree Dental. They always greet me with the best energy upon entering the office. Everyone here has an amazing energy and upbeat attitude that instantly makes you feel comfortable and welcome always. Karen does an amazing job cleaning my teeth, I always leave feeling so much better and refreshed. I thank everyone at Pine Tree Dental for always getting me in and making me feel amazing afterwards no matter the reason I am in for.

I have been visiting this practice for over 20 years. When I walk through their front door I'm always greeted with a positive upbeat welcome. The front desk staff is very professional, working with me and my dental insurance. Karen is the best hygienist, I always feel great when I leave her chair. Dr. Babayan and office team is very professional, patient, and great to work with. They are good with kids and office staff is very professional understand dental insurance policy. My and my whole family's experience with Dr. Babayan and her staff has been truly wonderful. I always recommend her to others looking for a dentist. My kids always look forward to going to the dentist as Dr. Babayan and her staff have a great bedside manner and are wonderful with children (and anxious adults like me). Dr. Babayan is really focused on preventative care - for all four of us - which I think is so, so important. The office is very easy to work with on scheduling and has always been able to get me in quickly when I have had an issue or concern with my teeth. Very recently, I had a temporary crown fall off literally in the middle of Christmas dinner, which sent me into a complete panic. Dr. Babayan met me the very next morning on a Saturday no less to reattach my crown. It meant so much to me. I highly recommend her to all.
