I grew up in the Ivory Coast, West Africa, and Nice, France. I moved to the United States in 1999 and earned my Bachelors degree with a double major in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. I then attended the University of Texas School of Dentistry in Houston and graduated with my D.D.S. in 2007. I completed a two-year specialty program in pediatric dentistry at the University of Texas Health Sciences Center Houston, and am a Board Certified Pediatric Dentist and a Diplomat of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry. With all that training, I feel ready to share my knowledge and use my skills to provide your children with the best care they deserve.
I relocated to Arizona in 2010 with my husband, Bruce, and daughter Jemma. I like to think of myself as someone who is fun, energetic, and caring. I am a mom who also happens to be a pediatric dentist with the ability to be fluent in French, English and Spanish. In my spare time, like many people in Arizona, I love hiking, yoga, gardening, skiing, scuba diving and playing tennis.
Shaina has been an integral part of the front office at Pima Pediatric Dentistry since 2014. She enjoys the positive and fun environment at PPD and helps our office by being active with new ideas and taking on challenges. Shaina lends her expertise to the rest of the team every day, and she is an amazing advocate for patients and parents. Shaina is pursuing a degree in business and enjoys spending time with her family.
Fatima has been a part of the Pima Pediatric family since March 2021. She enjoys working at Pima Pediatric Dentistry because of the amazing support and teamwork in the office. Fatima believes that helping children feel the best they can about their smile is so rewarding. Outside of work, Fatima plays soccer and has been honing her skills on the violin for six years. She also loves family time, listening to music and painting!
Michelle has always found dentistry very interesting and loves knowing that she plays a part in helping the community, one tooth at a time. Michelle truly enjoys waking up every morning and coming to work for Dr. Sophie she is so hilarious and fun! When she is not working, Michelle spends time with her amazing son. She likes to ride her bicycle and get outside, and she is always game for an adventure!
Leah loves working at Pima Pediatric Dentistry and has known Dr. Sophie for years outside of the office. Her favorite part of the job is getting to know the patients and their families and ensuring that every child feels welcomed and at ease when they visit the office. Leah is a full-time yoga teacher and invites you to join her at our Friday classes for the patients and staff of PPD! When she isnt at the office or practicing yoga, Leah loves to cook, garden and spend time with her four dogs.
Dana has been a pediatric dental assistant for over 15 years and truly enjoys working with children. She not only enjoys working as a dental assistant, but she is also very active in the marketing aspect of our office. She enjoys putting together in-office games and creating content for our Facebook and Instagram pages. When Dana is not at work, you can find her hanging out with her husband, her son and their puppy, Ein. Her favorite family nights are catching the latest Marvel movie or watching the Phoenix Suns play.
Mayrel enjoys being a part of the team at Pima Pediatric Dentistry. She especially enjoys the teamwork dynamic at our office. She loves working with children, and helping them feel comfortable and at ease is her specialty. In her free time, Mayrel enjoys hiking and spending time with family.

My son had a lot of anxiety prior to his visit. The staff helped him feel comforted and did not make him feel bad for needing extensive work. Highly recommend this office.

Unfortunately the customer service here has gone out the window, after few years as a loyal member I've noticed their focus now is to make money not change smiles. No phone etiquete. Definitely treated like a number, taking my family else where.

I do not have adequate words to describe how great this place is. Scheduling is easy and the folks up front are friendly. The hygienists are so sweet and very efficient. And Dr. Sophie is wonderful. My kids actually look forward to going to the dentist!

Dr. Sophie and her staff are incredible. They handled both of my kids at the same time which made it easier on me. Dr. Sophie made sure the kids were comfortable with everything going on and managed to keep them smiling and giggling the whole time. Her staff is equally engaging and kind. My kids said they really liked the nice ladies cleaning their teeth when we got in the car to leave. It may have had something to do with the slime and stickers they bribed them with. Also, I only saw women working there. I personally am happy and honored to support a woman owned and run business in Tucson. My kids will be patients of Dr. Sophie until she kicks them out of the nest. Seriously, you won't regret taking your kids to this dentist office.

Stay away!! If you want your child to be put asleep for a simple cavity, regardless if they are baby teeth, Dr. Sophie is your dentist. I took my children to a different dentist and said this procedure was totally unnecessary for their age and their cavities. You can tell and you can feel that it's only business for her. Aside from that, she's also very rude and seems to forget that she's dealing with children. I usually never like to write bad reviews but I just feel moral obligation.

My boys used to be so scared of the dentist that I dreaded having to take them. Dr. Sophie and her staff are so amazing!! They are patient and kind and know how to make going to the dentist fun! My boys actually look forward to their dental appointments now!! Everyone from the front office staff, Dr. Sophie, and the dental hygienists are all wonderful! I highly recommend Pima Pediatric Dentistry!!

Dana, Fatima and Dr Sophie were All-stars with my 6yr old son from the very first interaction all the way to the end with the tooth extraction they took great care of my boy I recomemd them to any parent. Don't be fearfully of the dentist for your kid these folks got you covered.

We found Dr. Sophie using Google Reviews and had such a positive first experience. Both kids were seen at the same time and sat in chairs next to one another -- every parents dream! Dana and Fatima were incredibly friendly and my kids who don't remember their previous dentist, has no concerns or fears while getting their teeth cleaned. Both my 3-year old and 5-year old left with a huge grin on their face and are actually excited for their next appointment. Thank you Dr. Sophie and team!

COME BACK TO THE NORTH SIDE!!! We love doctor Sophie! I can't imagine my kids seeing a new doctor today, also can't imagine driving an hour to the Kolb location. Very sad finding out shes left the silverbell location

The absolute worst experience all around. The 1st check up went smooth however once we moved forward with crowning 2 cavaties it went downhill.. they gave my daughter juice with the medicine which should not be allowed since the medicine must be taken while fasting even from water and I recieved no follow up care instructions after her procedure and Miss Sophie couldn't even get the numbers right on how many more cavities my child had. With that being said I was very hesitant to reschedule but once I did call in the office lady was rude and treated me as if I was stupid for asking for a reevaluation, I did end up scheduling JUST a check up and than cancelled it before the actual day and then got a letter in the mail stating that i was a no call no show for an anesthesia appointment i NEVER set up and that their withdrawing my child from their care, which I've already removed her from and that I need to fix her tooth decay which I also know and am doing. This place was awful and all the parents I know with little ones will not be going here either. Go to a dentist with great staff, understanding and follows proper guidelines when giving children such medication. And has office people who know how to properly preform their job. Learned my lesson.

LOVE LOVE LOVE this pediatric dentistry. I wanted to find a good dentist for my kids and after today we will be coming back here for good. Upon arriving it's easy to find and safe to park. Going inside it's very open, clean and inviting. My kids 1 and 3 made themselves comfortable right away in the kid sized chairs in their lobby. The receptionist allowed my son to check himself in by giving her his name. They called us back right away and we were met with Dana and Fatima who provided EXCELLENT care. They were gentle and spoke clearly to the kids making them comfortable in their care. Dr. Sophie was super friendly and connected with the kids easily. All staff was very professional and knowledgeable. We arrived happy and left super happy about our visit. Thank you guys!

It is such a breath of fresh air going to see Dr. Sophie. She is so upbeat and happy. She'll laugh with your kids and calm their nerves. You're greeted with polite and patient staff members. The hygienist are quick and great with the kids as well. I highly recommend.

My kids have been seeing Dr. Sophie for 7 years now and we could not be happening with our experience. She has always made the feel comfortable and secure and always makes decisions that are going to be best for their health not only now but in the future. The front desk staff and the assistants make the experience amazing and actually take the time to build a relationship with their patients and the parents. We love pima pediatrics and will continue to have our children seen there and any future children we have as well
