Dr. Anne Pillar is from Sioux Falls and graduated from Roosevelt High School in 2001. She completed her Bachelors degree at the University of Nebraska and went on to earn her Doctoral degree from the University of Nebraska Medical Center. After graduation, Dr. Pillar returned to Sioux Falls to start her practice.

Dr. Pillar loves the freedom and variety of being a general dentist. She is able to treat patients with almost any dental condition without the need for referral. She prides herself on forever being a student of dentistry. To date, she has earned nearly four times the amount of continuing education required. Staying up-to-date with the latest technologies and techniques is imperative in providing the best possible care for her patients. Making patients feel comfortable is a priority to Dr. Pillar, which is why she completed the DOCS education course for Adult Oral Sedation shortly after graduating from dental school. She has also completed extended training with the American Orthodontic Society in order to provide orthodontic care to her patients. Dr. Pillar is a member of the American Dental Association, the South Dakota Dental Association, the Southeast District Dental Society, the International Academy of Facial Aesthetics, the American Orthodontic Society, the Gordon J. Chistensen International Study Club, and is a certified Invisalign provider.

Anne Pillar and her husband Bobby Bartlett live in Sioux Falls with their son, Grant, and daughter, Paige. They can often be found enjoying our beautiful bike trails or visiting the ever-evolving downtown area. Dr. Pillar also enjoys reading, sailing, visiting family and friends around the country, as well as traveling to new places.

A toddler or babys teeth are temporary. They are the reason why some parents believe that its okay for those teeth to decay since theyll be replaced by new and permanent ones, anyway. However, a primary tooth is as important as a secondary one. Remember that your kids also need strong and healthy teeth to speak and eat properly.

If you dont follow the proper dental hygiene for kids, there is a high chance that your child will experience baby bottle tooth decay or early childhood caries (ECC). If its your first time encountering such a term, heres what you should know about it:

An ECC is a type of tooth decay in infants and toddlers that often affects the incisors or upper front teeth. However, the cavities can still affect any of the childs teeth. If ECC has already progressed too far to be treated, your pediatric dentist may have no other option but to extract the teeth entirely.

I was a new patient that was anxious because it had been 2 yrs since my last check up and cleaning. The office is BEAUTIFUL and the doctor was wonderful and friendly. I had the hygienist named Michelle and it was one of the BEST cleanings I ever had! She was thorough but gentle and my teeth feel FANTASTIC!

Been having some bad tooth pain for a few weeks. The crew got me in right away. It was hard for me to figure out where the pain was coming from. Dr. Palmer and her team fit me into their schedule, took a good look, helped me get my wisdom teeth extraction figured out and I am feeling so much better. Just in time right before a big vacation. This is one of the numerous times that Dr. Pillar and Dr. Palmer have helped me out. Just an outstanding team all around.

Everyone in the office is so friendly and you can tell they really care about your oral health. From the moment you walk in, the receptionist will greet you with a big smile and make you feel welcome and at ease. The hygienist is gentle but very efficient. I have never had a better teeth cleaning than I have with her, she really takes the time to make sure your teeth are pearly white and nice and clean before you leave. Dr. Pillar is also a joy to see. She is very knowledgeable and will always make sure you are comfortable and understand any procedure. You can tell she really enjoys what she does and invests into her clinic with state of the art dental machines, all with the patients comfort and ease in mind. I would highly recommend Pillar dental, in fact, I do all the time. I started coming to this clinic from a referral from a coworker, now nearly our whole office trusts their oral health with Pillar dental.

I am happy to write this review about Pillar Dental. They are absolutely wonderful. I broke a tooth on my bridge (I am a young grandma) which was very disappointing. I needed a dentist in Sioux Falls so I found great reviews about them and called for help. They saw me the next day to see the damage and set up a treatment plan for me. Getting a new bridge always takes time so I was prepared for a long wait. Pillar sent my order to a lab with a shorter turn around time so my wait was not so long. I believe it was a lab different from their usual one. They made me a temporary tooth -of course I was leaving town on vacation-to help until my permanent bridge arrived. Everything has gone on schedule and I am so happy with the outcome and thankful that I found Dr. Palmer and her crew. I highly recommend them!

I broke a back tooth (literally in half) with a portion of it below the gum line. I was nervous as to what could be done to repair and hopefully save the tooth. Dr Anne Pillar at Pillar Dental added my case to an already full day of patients. Dr Pillar and her staff saved the tooth, and (with equipment in her office) made a permanent Crown and completed the procedure in one sitting. Dr Pillar and her staff seem to be ahead of the industry with the latest training, equipment and procedures. They are confident, efficient and professional. Many thanks for the excellent care.

I have had exceptional, and I mean "exceptional" service, from Pillar Dental. My wife worked for a great dentist for 12 years until his retirement, so we know a bit about good dentistry, and I can assure you that this practice is excellent. They are very friendly, professional, personable, and Dr. Pillar is a third generation dentist who challenges herself to continue the stellar reputation her grandfather and father created. Both my wife and I highly recommend this practice. DF

I've always had a great experience here! 1000% the best place! Years ago I had gone to other dental offices where they quoted me $4000-$5000 worth of work to be done. When I came to Pillar Dental, they were honest with me and said all I needed was a good cleaning. My insurance covered this cleaning and my teeth are pretty healthy now! I recommend this place to everyone who is looking!

The older I get, the worse my anxiety gets about having dental work done. It was so bad, I'd lie down and tears would stream down my face before anything even started. Not only is the staff warm and accommodating but Dr Anne Pillar is amazing at her craft! She is personable and incredible at explaining what is happening, puts me at ease. I highly recommend sedation dentistry at Pillar Dental! You're stuck with me now, doc!! ;)

The gals here are fantastic! Dr. Pillar has been doing our cleanings and proceedures since we moved to SD 8 years ago. When we first started seeing her, she was completing her Ortho endorsment. After seeing every orthodontist in town and working with her, we opted to have her do the ortho work for both our children. We avoided painful surgury options and pulling teeth because she was open to our concerns and she provided an excellent level of care. I highly recommend her and her team. Having 2 kids with braces, this team has become an extension of our family and I appreciate them. Cheryl is the best! Becky is amazing and my kids trust Brittini - you can't ask for anything more than that.

I recommend Pillar Dental to anyone looking for a dental provider. Dr Pillar is fantastic. I have never felt like she is pushing for additional services to add more charges like I have experience at other providers. The office staff is great and the hygienists, Brooklyn and Becky, are the two best I've ever had. The entire staff is friendly, personable, and seem to genuinely care about their patients. You will not be disappointed if you choose Pillar Dental.
