I am a native of Nebraska and graduated from the University Of Nebraska College Of Dentistry in 1976. Since that time I have been in private practice in Torrington. I am an active member of the Wyoming Dental Association, serving as State Chairman of Peer Review and Chairman of the Wyoming /Nebraska Dental Education Committee. I have been active in state, regional, and national levels of the Academy of General Dentistry as State President, Regional Director, and on the National Board of Directors. I have also received my Masters in the Academy. I am a member of the American Academy of Restorative Dentistry, Academy of Dentistry International, International Academy of Gnathology, Academy of Operative Dentistry, American Equilibration Society, Pierre Fauchard Academy, American Orthodontic Society, International Association for Orthodontics, and American Association of Functional Orthodontics. I am a member of the Chamber of Commerce and Board of Director at St. Joseph's Children's Home. I have been President of Little League Baseball, Board of Director of Wyoming Child & Family Corp. (Headstart), Torrington Girls Softball and Legion Baseball Board Member. I am on the Finance Council of St. Rose Catholic Church, member of the Knights of Columbus, and also a past Grand Knight. I am currently on the board of Torrington Rotary Club and Goshen County Rec Board. In addition to general dentistry procedures, I enjoy placing and restoring implants, doing orthodontics for children and adults, evaluating and treating TMJ and headache disorders, complete mouth restoration, cosmetic procedures, and treating sleep disorders.

I grew up Torrington, graduating from THS in 2006, and then attended the University of Wyoming receiving a B.S. in Physiology in the spring of 2010. I completed my dental education at the University of Nebraska Medical Center College of Dentistry graduating with my Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 2014. While in school, I gained extensive experience in all aspects of dentistry and was taught using the latest advancements in technology, techniques, and materials. I enjoy implantology and restorative dentistry, but my greatest joy comes from interacting with and caring for my patients. In the fall of 2012 I was fortunate enough to travel to Peru for a dental mission, and took great pride in partaking in Nebraska Mission of Mercy free dental clinics as a student.

l was actively involved in the American Student Dental Association and American Dental Education Association while in school, serving as both a local and national representative, in addition to being a student member of the Nebraska Dental Association and Academy of General Dentistry. I am currently a member of the Wyoming Dental Association, American Dental Association, and Academy of General Dentistry.

My wife, Brenna, graduated from the University of Wyoming with a degree in Elementary education and received her Master's degree from the University of Nebraska in 2014. We enjoy waterskiing, fall football games, and Brenna shopping while I am hunting. We are anxious to call Torrington home and become active members of such a great community.

To some of you I may have a familiar face and to others this may the first time introducing myself. My name is Jamie Cowan and I am the new hygienist here at Family Dentistry. I have actually been filling in for the hygienists at Family Dentistry for the 8 years prior to becoming a permanent fixture here in May 2017. Another reason you may recognize me is because I grew up in the area but may recognize my maiden name of Barthel instead of my married name Cowan. After graduating from Morrill Jr-Sr High School, I continued my education at Chadron State College as well as taking classes at Western Nebraska Community College. After finishing my prerequisites, I attended dental hygiene school at Laramie County Community College where I graduated in 2006. After graduation I practiced in Laramie for a few years before coming home. I started working for The Wyoming Department of Health as well as returning to my alma mater to become an adjunct instructor as well. I feel privileged to be working here at Family Dentistry where I have also been a patient for the past 10 years. I now call Guernsey home along with my husband Jason, and our three children, Garrett, Aubree, and Nolan. In my free time I enjoy participating and reliving my youth in rec league sports and spending as much time as possible at Guernsey State Park enjoying the lake.

I am a dental assistant here at Family Dentistry. I have been in dentistry for over 27 years. I started with Family Dentistry in 1985. I am also the inventory coordinator for all of our dental supplies.

I attended Eastern Wyoming College. I have been a Certified Dental Assistant for over thirty years, taking my certification exam in 1978. Nineteen of those years have been here at Family Dentistry. As an assistant, preparing mounted study models is one of my areas of expertise.

I am the office manager at Family Dentistry. I started with Family Dentistry in 2003. I have been in dentistry for over twenty one years. The most enjoyable aspects of my job include, information technology, and being the administrative assistant to Dr. Pieper and Dr. Marsh. I help coordinate their projects in organized dentistry and community projects.
