With 28 years as a dental hygienist, Lisa is dedicated to promoting optimal oral health to her patients. She provides preventative and therapeutic treatment such as routine cleanings, periodontal therapy, and sealants.

Dr. Piper is a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh and the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine. In June of 2004, Dr. Piper answered his nations call to service and joined the United States Air Force (USAF) Dental Corp, where he completed his residency in Prosthodontics at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio. Dr. Piper earned his Masters of Science Degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center San Antonio. In addition, he competed in the inaugural American Prosthodontic Society research competition and was awarded first place for his efforts. Dr. Piper successfully completed the rigorous board certification process and was awarded his Board Certification in Prosthodontics in November 2007.
After graduating from the prosthodontics residency in 2007, he joined the Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD-1) teaching staff at Offutt Air Force Base in Omaha, Nebraska where he mentored recent dental graduates and trained them to perform advanced dental techniques as they entered the USAF dental corp. His mentoring earned Dr. Piper the 2009 United States Air Force Dental Educator of the Year. In 2011, Dr. Piper returned to San Antonio to undergo a Fellowship program in Maxillofacial Prosthetics. This fellowship enabled him to complete multiple complex multidisciplinary treatments for our nations wounded warriors and multiple other service members, retirees and family members. Dr. Piper remained on the staff of the United States Air Forces only Prosthodontic Residency Program for the remainder of his commission in the USAF. During his tenure he published multiple articles to include: The use of a laser-level paralleling device for the fabrication of a unilateral auricular prosthesis and Novel Magnet-Retained Prosthetic System for Facial Reconstruction.
Dr. Piper has been invited to lecture at multiple local and national meetings. His responsibilities with the Air Force has allowed for the unique opportunity to attend multiple CE opportunities as well as stay at the forefront of the Prosthodontic and surgical fields of dentistry, and the ability to provide some of the most advanced comprehensive care to his patients. Dr. Piper maintains membership in the American Academy of Maxillofacial Prosthetics, American Board of Prosthodontics, American Dental Association and, now, the North Carolina Dental Society as well a a Tumor Board in Winston Salem, NC. He looks forward to becoming involved in the local dental community.
In 2015, Dr. Piper resigned his commission as an officer in the United States Air Force to join Dr. Carnaggio in his dental practice. Dr. Piper prides himself on providing the highest level of care and compassion to his patients. His ultimate goal is to provide his patients with an understanding of their dental condition and to improve the quality of life for his patients. Dr. Piper values family time with his wife, Shannon, and their four beautiful children: Eliana, Jimmy, Avonlea and Tate. They enjoy a variety of sports and activities and look forward to the exciting new ones that North Carolina has to offer. Dr. Piper also looks forward to having the opportunity to give back to the community.

Was referred to Dr. Piper from the Asheville VA. He was extremely understanding, professional, and kind to my case and I am so thankful. As a veteran it means a lot that there are health care professionals that help veterans in need of specialized care. Its a bit of a drive but so worth it. Thank you to the entire team for helping me.

Very pleased with how helpful and friendly everyone is. I was in a lot of pain and being referred as an emergency to doctors who wouldn't see me for 8 or 9 weeks. They heard about my situation and made room for me because of the severity of my situation. So thankful for the whole team!

This is my first visit with Dr Piper, I don't do dentist. I have bad anxiety every time I walk through the doors. I needed to get teeth pulled and was super nervous about it. Madison was the assistant, she was gentle doing X-rays, she was super nice and answered all the questions I threw her way. Dr Piper was very gentle and quick removing the tooth, I will 100% be back and he will become my regular dentist. Highly recommend! Keep up the great work!

Will NOT be back !! Made appointment to have a tooth pulled, it was made as a check-up, was very upset ! Then my deductible was higher than normal, was going have to have my cardiologist clear me to pull a tooth. I've had 4 teeth pulled there and NEVER had to have this before. The dental assistant and dentist are great, but one lady at front desk has NO PROFESSIONAL attitude what so ever. She had NO compassion that id been out of work since February and my money is very tight, the expression on her face was just like she didnt care. Was asked to come back next week to have tooth pulled and be charged yet another outrageous deductible, don't think so!!

Leadership is a good thing but great when administered correctly. I would like to thank all the staff at Piedmont Dental in Ferguson, NC. I was referred to Dr. Piper for dentures and was told he is the best. He spent a lot of time examining and explaining the detailed dental plan he produced. His staff was exceptional. Each subsequent visit was with a different assistant, and they all were outstanding and confident. The leadership Dr. Piper has instilled in his assistants and front desk staff is evident in their performance. The front desk staff was so courteous and unfortunately, I cannot name them all individually. My sincere thanks to everyone at Piedmont dental in Ferguson, NC

Dr Piper and his entire staff( especially Angie) are beyond greatness. They are the kindest, most pleasant, professional , generous , caring and gentle group of individuals that I have ever seen. The warm feeling of comfort and the relaxed atmosphere make for a very top notch organization. I am on the slow and painful recovery of long term negative side effects related to beating terminal Cancer. Don't settle for less than the absolute best . They are a life changing organization who make the world a better place one patient at a time .

Dr Piper could not finish my mothers denture. Kept bringing her back with no explanation, sprinkled some poly grip powder in her denture to hold it in time after time. At 83 and in bad health she finally gave up.
