Our dental office is up to date with the latest and most advanced technology to offer a variety of options to protect, repair, and brighten your smile. From dental emergencies down to your routine check-up and exam, we can help with all your dental needs.
To provide great service for our patients, Dr. Tyson Pickett earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from Virginia Commonwealth University. Before attending dental school, he studied at Westminster College in Salt Lake City, Utah, majoring in chemistry and minoring in Spanish (which he speaks fluently).
Dentistry has allowed me to help others improve their oral health as well as their smile. I love being able to continually meet new people and learn new things in this ever-evolving practice. Let me help you meet your oral health goals comfortably using the latest in dental knowledge and technology.
These aspects of dentistry are constantly reshaping the way dentists help us care for our teeth, our mouths, and even our bodies as a whole. As for Dr. Pickett, his goal is to bring patients the best products and services so that they feel comfortable and happy with their results.
Joanie is a registered dental hygienist who has practiced since 2001. She has a quick-witted humor and enjoys laughing and having fun with her teammates and her patients. When it comes to patient care, she has a gentle, friendly approach making each patient feel comfortable and at ease during treatment. Her goal is to educate patients without being overbearing. Joanie loves working in a family practice where she is able to build strong relationships with her patients. She is great with children, making even the most timid child feel comfortable. Kids know her as Joanie Bologne. When Joanie isnt working, she enjoys spending time with her husband and two fur babies, working in the yard and reading.
Jennifer has been working in the dental field for over fifteen years. She gained experience with the Army Reserves for 8 years, as a dental assistant and a hygienist. In 2009, she served overseas during Operation Iraq Freedom. She likes getting to know her patients and their interests. Jennifer enjoys her job and the individuals that she works with. Jennifer grew up in Irving and now lives in Keller, with her husband and two girls.
Kristen has been a hygienist since 2009. She loves smiling and making others happy with their smile! Getting to know her patients and their families is important to her. Her warm personality helps her patients feel at ease. When Kristen is not working, she is either at the soccer fields or home spending time with her husband and three youngest children.
Nance has been working in the dental field for two decades. She has been with the practice since 2007 after moving from her hometown of Corpus Christi, Texas. Nance is a registered dental assistant. She likes getting to know her patients and what hobbies they enjoy doing. Nances main goal is to make sure all her patients are comfortable and are educated regarding their dental health. She is always willing to share her knowledge with others. Nance loves to attend continuing education programs to expand her dental knowledge. In her spare time, she enjoys her time with her husband and two boys. She also loves her three dogs.
Samantha originally started in the dental field as an RDA but quickly found her joy in the front office aspect of dental. She finds fulfillment in helping patients understand their financial and insurance concerns so that they can obtain their desired smile goals with ease and confidence. (Sam is her name and insurance is her game) She loves bringing joy to others and strives to make everyone feel important and cared for because smiling faces are the best faces.
Vangies love for people and making them smile is what made her decide to become an RDA in 2015. She enjoys developing trusting relationships with her patients and assisting them in receiving the best standard of care. When she is not at work she can be found spending time with family, serving at her church, or enjoying the great outdoors!
I have been a RDA since 2015, I enjoy meeting new people each day! My goal is to make sure every patient feels at ease in the dental chair! When not at work you can find me and my husband finding new places to eat or I am curled up at home with my crochet projects!
Pickett Family Dental wants to ensure that all our patients are able to get the level of dental care they need to smile with confidence. Thats why Dr. Pickett and his team at our Keller, TX dentist office offer several payment options to choose from. To make it easier for you to receive the treatment you or your family require, we accept a variety of payments, including:
A: Dental insurance isnt really insurance. The way dental insurance works generally, is that it acts as pre-paid benefit provided by an employer, to reduce the cost of routine dental treatment. Thats why dental insurance is great for basic coverage such as x-rays, exams, cleanings and some cavity fillings and tooth removal. However, when it comes to dental surgeries and other dental services, most plans only cover part of the cost and rarely for the best treatment options. Dental Insurance companies do not have your best interests in mind.
A: Even though your insurance doesnt cover the full cost of a dental visit or surgery, it does help reduce many of your out-of-pocket expenses. Our office has had years of experience dealing with every major dental insurance company and can assist you in getting the best rates for your plan.
A: Dont make decisions about your health, especially your dental health solely on your insurance coverage. People who lose their teeth dont ever say it was a good condition to save money by neglecting their dental health. Your ability to speak, smile, chew, feel comfortable with your appearance, and overall health is very dependent upon the health of your teeth.
A: Rather than a minimum deductible, dental insurance has a maximum limit to what a carrier has to cover each year because dental costs can be unpredictable and is common necessity. Along with that, dental coverage is becoming more limited over time, making it even more important to obtain it now while its still worth the cost.
A: As your dental professional(s), we will always recommend the best treatment options available to you, regardless of your coverage or dental plan. Our primary concern is your dental health. However, we will also explain your other options with the benefits and best estimate available to you prior to treatment. Sometimes a plan will pay better if a patient sends in the claim for themselves, or if the Employee Benefits Coordinator where the patients work steps in. Remember: as a paying client you have more sway when dealing with your insurance company than we do as your dental service provider. We are always happy and willing to provide you copies of the information needed to deal directly with your carrier.
A: That 100 percent is usually what the insurance carrier allows as payment toward a procedure, not what our dental office actually charges. However, the allowed payment or UCR typically represents a list of payment amounts negotiated between your employer and the insurance company. Based on this payment amount, your employer chooses a plan with a list of payments to reach their desired premium. This means your actual coverage may not be covered within your benefit plan.
Reminder: We work with ALL major dental insurance plans! Here are some of the insurance companies that we work with on a regular basis. If yours isnt listed, call us to check into what benefits your insurance company provides!

My experience with Dr. Oser was less than poor. After a routine root canal and crown, I had extensive facial swelling for four days, a two inch black bruise on my face, and tingling/burning/numbness from the outside corner of my eye down to the corner of my lip. I had tissue damage and sloughing in 1/4 of my mouth and an open sore at the injection site. When I returned for examination of these issues, Dr. Oser told me that I had developed "a little ulcer like one gets from stress" and sent me home with some aloe gel. No explanation/no apology for the swelling, bruising, numbness, soft tissue trauma, etc. . I felt like he was condescending, invalidating, and dishonest by omission. I saw my oral surgeon for these problems. He explained that I had nerve damage and a hematoma/blood vessel damage at the injection site. Further, he explained that it could take weeks to months to heal. I feel I should've gotten this explanation from Dr. Oser. It has been about 2 months and I still have a residual burning sensation at the corner of my lip. I, also, have unsightly burst blood vessels on my face that will cost me several hundred dollars to have repaired. In addition, the crown does not match in color, size, or shape. It's an upper incisor so highly visible when I speak or smile and looks nothing like the opposing tooth. I will have to have this new crown replaced by another dentist so that it doesn't stand out like a sore thumb. Also, my husband had work done by Dr. Oser. One crown has a gap between the adjacent tooth and is a significant food trap. Another crown fractured shortly after placement. Both crowns need replaced only weeks after placement. I've had extensive dental work throughout my life and have never experienced these issues Further, none of my friends or family have had these problems after dental care. I do not recommend Dr. Oser. Massage chairs, coffee machines, and laughing gas do not equate to quality dentistry. In my opinion, it isn't a good trade off to have a one visit, in house, crown fabricated if it has to be redone by another dentist for proper fit, color, etc. Beware. Be aware. UPDATE 2022: My face is permanently disfigured with a 1 by 2 inch area of raised scar tissue in the area of bruising and swelling. I have consulted with a reputable plastic surgeon. I was told that nothing could be done as removing the scar tissue would only create more scar tissue. All this from an improperly done anesthetic injection that caused swelling and blood collecting in this area due to piercing a blood vessel or vessels. Shame on you Dr. Oser and staff that treated me disrespectfully when I returned there to ask if anything could be done a day or so after this occurred. I came into the office with a swollen, black face. Dr. Oser and a staff member, both, actually asked me why I was there! Then Dr. Oser told me that this was a minor and common issue in dentistry. He, also, told me that I had no recourse because I consented to treatment. Permanent disfigurement is NOT minor. Further, why do I know of no one else having this experience if it is so common?

A very professional and friendly atmosphere. Entire staff pleasant and knowledgeable and make me feel welcome. Hygenist, Joni, is the best! Very thorough, and informative. Have been seeing her for many years. Dr. Pickett's exam was comprehensive. Haven't needed any dental work yet, but I am confident that he would provide the very best. They all receive my highest recommendation.

We have been coming to this practice for decades. Our dental assistant, Joanie, has been cleaning and taking care of our dental needs every step of the way. It is so reassuring to see how far they go to sterilize their stations. Though we have moved from Keller, we will continue to come and have Dr. Pickett be our personal dentist!!

Pickett Family Dental is suburb! Joanie spent a lot of time talking to me about my teeth and my goals. She was very attentive and gave me a incredibly meticulous cleaning. When Dr. Pickett came in, we talked about things I need to watch for and future work I need and want to have done. I give them an A++++ rating and confidently recommend them to anyone needing a dentist.

Finally returned to Pickett Family Dental for a cleaning after a "too long" Covid break. I was quickly reminded how thorough Joanie has always been while cleaning my teeth. Absolutely worth my drive from Dallas - never considered going anywhere else. The office is beautiful, the office staff are kind and competent and Dr Pickett is gentle and knowledgeable about current dental procedures and options. A wonderful practice.
