Piccolo Dental Associates is a Scottsdale based family dentist practice that treats patients of all ages. We are committed to delivering the highest quality dental care and do so using advanced dental equipment. We are a cosmetic dentist that offers services like checkups, teeth cleaning, crowns, veneers and more.
Dr. Piccolo attended Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska where he earned both his undergraduate and doctorate degrees. After receiving his Doctorate of Dental Surgery in 1982, he began working and has been practicing dentistry in Scottsdale since 1985.
Dr. Piccolo believes in continuing education and is honored to be a member of many dental groups. He belongs to the American Dental Association (ADA), American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, American Equilibration Society (AES), Arizona Dental Association(AZDA), American Academy of Cranial Facial Pain (AACFP), American Headache Society (AHS) and is a participating member of local study clubs. Dr. Piccolo also received fellowship status for the International Congress of Oral Implantologist (ICOI) and the Academy of General Dentistry (AGD). He currently is a peer review and mediator for the Arizona Dental Association.
Dr. Piccolo has also received training at the L.D. Pankey Institute. This prestigious postgraduate program strives to treat patients at the highest level of current knowledge and care to provide patients with optimal oral health a philosophy Dr. Piccolo has personally adopted. The Institute provides hand-on training, where he has mastered his skills in TMJ therapy and periodontal prosthetics.
In 2012, Dr. Piccolo started his residency in dental sleep medicine at UCLA. He then went on to continue a residency in implant surgery in 2014. He finished up his residencies in 2017 at the University of Tennessee in Memphis in TMJ, oral facial pain and dental sleep medicine.
In his free time, Dr. Piccolo volunteers at the John. C. Lincoln Childrens Clinic. He also enjoys playing baseball and golf. He also spends time water skiing and hiking with his two sons, Matthew and Chad.
Dr. Sarko attended The Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio for both his undergraduate and doctorate degrees. In 2014, he earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Zoology, before furthering his education and earning his D.D.S. designation in 2018.
After graduation, Dr. Sarko had the privilege of working with some amazing patients in Ohio before making his move out west. He spent two years serving the patients of the greater Cleveland area followed by two years of practice in Columbus. Dr. Sarko prides himself on treating his patients like family, and still keeps in touch with many of them to this day. He cannot wait to establish new bonds with his patients here in sunny Arizona.
Dr. Sarko believes that in order to achieve the best results for his patients, he needs to be a lifetime student of his craft. He is happy to invest in his education to better his patients health, and actively seeks out the best continuing education opportunities to stay current with the ever evolving field of dentistry. To date, he has taken additional training courses in clear aligner orthodontic therapy, restorative dentistry, and dental implants; but his training will not stop there. He aspires to follow in Dr. Piccolo's footsteps and complete additional training at the L.D. Pankey Institute.
In his free time you may see Dr. Sarko out on the trail with his beautiful girlfriend, Arielle, and his sassy pup named Bodhi. He is an avid adventurer and loves exploring the amazing landscapes here in Arizona.

As a returning patient, I was confident my experience would be a good one at this office. Melissa did a wonderful job cleaning my teeth today. I look forward to my next visit with her in 6 months. Dr. Sarko is a true professional! I had a bit of complicated tooth issue and Dr. Sarko has really gone above and beyond to make sure my problem has been taken of properly. His bedside manner is kind, compassionate and he is quite the perfectionist. (In a good way). The staff is top notch. One Office I don't mind going to.

I've been seeing Dr. Piccolo for many years now. Excellent doctor, very attentive, and caring. He is one of the few doctors I know, who will take his time to explain with detail the different options for treatment and listens attentively to ones dental needs or issues. I appreciate his passion for dentistry and care for his patients. In addition, wonderful, friendly staff and hygienists as well.

I have been coming to Dr. Piccolo for as long as I can remember. It is always a pleasant experience and their staff is very welcoming and friendly. Not to mention the great views of the golf course from there chairs! Highly recommend their office for anyone in search of a new dentist.

Had an old bridge that broke off in my mouth after 30 years repaired by Dr. Sarko today. Never worked with him before as Dr. Piccolo was off and didn't want to wait. Dr. Sarko is so very nice and VERY professional. He, along with his wonderful assistant, Liz, worked on my mouth and this bridge for over 1 hour putting pins in the broken off tooth as well as building it up to fit the original bridge once again. It saved me over $5,000 taking this route instead of getting a new bridge. I am so very grateful to both of them.
