Our office is very spacious, with 9 private treatment rooms where you can have confidential visits with your dentist. Dr. Joel Picards grandfather actually designed the building himself! Since its inception, however, weve updated the office with modern dental equipment to maintain clinical excellence and offer the latest in dental care options.

Dr. Joel F. Picard earned his DDS (Doctor of Dental Surgery) degree from Georgetown University's School of Dentistry in 1988, where he graduated with an award for excellence in crown and bridge therapy. It was in that year that Dr. Joel joined his father, Dr. George V. Picard, in family practice. He is proud to be a third generation dentist, carrying on the tradition that was started by his grandfather, Dr. Armand Picard, in 1941. Dr. Picard received his undergraduate degree from Boston College.

While Dr. Picard provides all phases of dentistry, his expertise is in delivering advanced cosmetic and implant dentistry. Dr. Picard has lectured on implant dentistry for one of the worlds leading dental implant companies, teaching other dentists nationwide advanced techniques in implants. He is a member of the American Dental Association, the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, the Academy of General Dentistry, the Rhode Island Dental Association, and the Woonsocket Dental Society.

In May of 2008, Dr. Picard was inducted into the Pierre Fauchard Dental Honor Society. For over twenty years, he has been an active member of the Providence Plantations Dental Study Club. The doctors in this club meet monthly to stay abreast of the latest dental technology and techniques. Through networking with the best dentists in RI, Dr. Picard continues to enhance his professional education and chairside techniques to treat patients of all ages with complex dental problems.

Dr. Duggan, a native of Norwood, Massachusetts, graduated from the College of the Holy Cross with a Bachelors of Science degree in Biology. She attended Tufts University School of Dental Medicine where she earned her D.M.D. degree. After graduating from Tufts Dental School, she completed a one year advanced education graduate degree program at the Medical University of South Carolina where she received additional training in implant and veneer restorations, oral surgery, complete and partial dentures, crown and bridge restorations, and CAD/CAM digital impressions.

Dr. Duggan joined the team at Picard Dental Associates in the Spring of 2014. She strives to provide comprehensive dental care for her patients in a friendly and comfortable environment. She is trained in the Itero digital impression systems and is also a certified Invisalign provider. Dr. Duggan remains active in the dental community as a member of the Providence Plantations Dental Study Club and the Greater Woonsocket District Dental Society.

When Dr. Duggan is not at the office providing for her patients, she enjoys running, baking goodies, and spending time with her family and friends. She currently resides in Norwood, Massachusetts with her husband Matt.

Dr. Hristina Popov, born and raised in Bulgaria, graduated from Medical University of Varna School of Dentistry in 2016. For a period of time, she practiced as a general dentist in Bulgaria before coming to the United States and attending Boston University Henry M. Goldman School of Dental Medicine where she earned her second DMD degree. Dr. Popov has also gained valuable dental and international experience through various internship programs in Bulgaria, Ireland, and the US.

Through her additional education and international experience, Dr. Popov has enhanced her skillset in crown and bridge restorations, endodontic procedures, oral surgery, complete and partial dentures, implant placements and restorations using digital as well as conventional techniques. She is Invisalign and Facial Injectables certified.

Dr. Popov is a member of the American Dental Association, the Rhode Island Dental Association, the Woonsocket Dental Society, and the Providence Plantations Dental Study Club. She is excited to meet her new patients at Picard Dental Associates as she joined the team in 2021. She is passionate dental professional ready to care for her patients with professionalism, attention to detail, and understanding.

Dr. Popov resides in Cumberland, RI with her husband Zee and her daughter Victoria. When outside of the dental office she enjoys baking (as she attended culinary high school), gardening, and spending time with family and friends.

Kim is our Treatment Coordinator who is cross-trained to work as a dental assistant. She also became certified as an X-Ray Technician by the Massachusetts Dental Society in 2011. She has been with Picard Dental Associates since 2005 and has extensive experience in the customer service field.

Jasmine joined the team in 2021. She has great enthusiasm to learn all new aspects in patient care. She is currently the Patient Care Coordinator and is cross training to learn dental assisting. She is married and the Mother of three children, two girls and a boy. When not in the office, she loves spending time with family and friends. She is also an active member of a local church here in Woonsocket.

Chris has been a part of our administrative team since March of 2018. Prior to joining the practice, Chris spent 3 years as a General Operations Assistant at Superior Court and 18 years in patient care in OB/GYN. Chris also brings dental experience to the table, having worked for 4 years chairside at an endodontist office. When away from the office, Chris enjoys hiking, spending time with her family, and RI beaches.

Vallerie joined the team in February of 2020. Vallerie has been in the dental field for 6 years serving in an administrative and managerial capacity. Vallerie is married with 3 children. Her favorite hobbies are eating new foods, traveling and spending time with family.

Angie joined our team in 2015. Angie is married and has 3 girls. Prior to coming to our office , Angie was a stay-at-home Mom . Her role in the office is the responsibility for sterilization for office equipment and operatory rooms using Osha guidelines. In her spare time, she does event planning, sings in the choir, and teaches Sunday school for her church.

Deana received her education at CCRI and has a associate degree in liberal arts. She has been a certified dental assistant since joining the staff at Picard Dental Associates in 1994. She is also CPR and first aid certified.

Brenda has been working as a Certified Dental Assistant for thirty years. She has recently joined the practice and is excited about working with our team. Brenda is CPR Certified and she enjoys providing a warm, caring environment for all the patients she helps in our office.

Stephanie has been in the dental field since 2012. Her previous work experience was in the orthodontic field. She joined the team in 2019,eager to increaseher skill set. She enjoys working with people and helping them achieve their goals to improve their smiles. In her free time, Stephanie enjoys photography,cooking, travel and time with her husband and two children.

Sara is a dental assistant who was trained at Picard Dental Associates. She has been with Picard Dental Group since 2014. Sara received her certification in Dental Radiography in 2015 from Community College of Rhode Island. She enjoys helping patients to achieve their goal in feeling comfortable with their smile again.

Gracie graduated from the dental assistant program at Tri-County RVTHS in Franklin, MA. She became xray certified in June of 2019. She aspires to one day be a hygienist. When she is not in the office, Gracie enjoys spending time with her family and her dog. She is also a self made make up artist.

Samantha has been a certified dental assistant since 2011. She joined the team in 2019. Samanthe enjoys spending her time reading and going on adventures with her husband. She has two children. She also serves as a minister at her church.

Kristen received her Dental Hygiene Degree from CCRI. She is also licensed to administer local anesthesia. Kristen joined the team in 2007. When not in the office, Kristen enjoys going to New Hampshire with her husband and their 2 boys.

Lynne received her dental hygiene training from the Forsyth School for Dental Hygiene in Boston. She also has an Associates Degree in Science from Northeastern University. She has been practicing dental hygiene since 1990 and has been with Picard Dental Associates since 2005.

Ginny attended The Ohio State University. studying Dental Hygiene and Health Education, graduating with a Bachelors of Science Degree. She has worked at Picard Dental from 2005-2011 and recently rejoined our team in 2019. Ginny has 2 grown daushtersand 1 granddaughter. Ginny is passionate about spending time in Northern Ontario, where her family has a lakeside cottage.

Christine has been practicing dental hygiene for 35 years. She joined the team at Picard Dental Associates in 2021. Christine recently also obtained her Public Health Dental Hygienist license from CCRI.
