Dr. Bickel is a proud Washington native and grew up in the Yakima Valley with two brothers. Dentistry runs in the family! Dr. Bickel's younger brother and his sister in law are both dentists in the greater Seattle area.

After graduating, Dr. Bickel was the Dental Chief and Pediatric Dental Surgeon for the Tulalip Tribes, providing dentistry on their reservation to about 4,000 members as well as surrounding tribes and areas. This provided him the unique opportunity to gain expertise in all aspects of dentistry including surgical dentistry and pediatric care. He maintains a passion for helping the community by volunteering at the Union Gospel Mission, Seattle King County Free Dental Clinic, Smile Mobile, and Give Kids a Smile Free Dental Day. He also participates in ongoing international mission trips to both Haiti and the Dominican Republic.

I love improving the health of my patients. Every day I get a chance to offer real, concrete solutions to patient ailments and concerns. Interpersonal contact with patients makes my job rewarding and fun. Every day is different, and it is always challenging and interesting. I have the unique opportunity to constantly be developing, learning and growing. - Dr. Bickel

I've seen both Dr. Trinh and Dr. Bickel, and both have been great! The front desk staff is also wonderful, especially Kris. The whole team recently helped me through a whirlwind of a crown falling off, referring to a periodontist for crown lengthening surgery, getting a temporary crown, referring for a root canal, and then finally fitting my permanent crown. What an ordeal! But I felt supported and well taken care of the whole way, and very much appreciated when they were able to squeeze me in for urgent appointments. Kris is great with insurance and scheduling, and even called me before an expensive procedure to make sure I had received the cost estimate (I did, but I forgot to call) and make sure I was still on board. It's patient service like that that makes a difference! I really gave the clinic a run for their money but I never worried about the quality of care.

Dr. Bickel is perfectly competent. The hygienist staff, however, is quite careless, rushed, and inattentive. During a routine cleaning, my wife was poked in the face with a sharp cleaning implement. Her appointment was also rushed to the point of being ineffective. During a crown buildup, my hygienist jammed a bite blocker so deeply into my mouth that I was unable to fully close or open my jaw for a week following the appointment. Both hygienists were lovely people, but seemingly either too busy or too poorly trained to do a thorough job. I called the office to let them know that we had a couple of less than pleasant experiences and to ask that we not be assigned the same hygienists in the future. I received no response until the day I returned to have my crown fitted. Despite my request, I was given the same hygienist and Dr. Bickel made an attempt to discuss my concerns while she was in the room which made an uncomfortable situation even worse. He left very little room for me to talk, repeating that he wanted to make sure I felt comfortable while leaving no space for me to actually communicate with him. We were excited to build a relationship with this office and Dr., particularly based on the many positive reviews, but will be taking our business elsewhere and recommend that anyone considering this office do a bit more research making an appointment.

Been going here for nearly three years and it's always been a great experience. The staff is friendly, their cleanings are general, but thorough, and their communication is great!

I've been with Dr Bickle since he took over the practice from Dr Dull. He's very professional, very calm and the most important thing to me is that Dr Bickle has carried on the philosophy that Dr Dull held... That is, he takes a very cautious, non-invasive approach to dentistry. Dr Bickle is keeping my teeth clean and healthy and he does not drill if he doesn't need to.

This is a wonderful dentist's office! The staff are so kind and knowledgeable, and really take the time to explain why they are doing particular procedures and help you understand the science behind it. They are gentle and skillful for cleanings. Hayley is particularly awesome! Thanks to the whole team.

just started going to to Dr. Bickel; but after having my previous dentist unable to resolve a painful situation over 9 months and multiple visits, Dr. Bickel was able to quickly confirm the actual problem and implement a resolution after 2 visits within 1 week.

I just moved to Seattle and had been going to the same dentist in Spokane for over 20 years. I was very happy with Dr Bickel and staff. Dr. Bickel was gentle and thorough. The office staff was very friendly and professional. I have found another great dentist.

If you're terrified of dentists, filled with anxiety from the moment you walk in the door, and avoid appointments and treatment for long periods of time as a result, Dr. Bickel and his staff are your saving grace. Dr. Bickel is a dentist I would fly from out-of-state to see. Let me explain: My dental trauma began early (age 3) and ultimately, I found a single dentist I trusted. Even when I moved out-of-state, I would fly back every six months to visit that dentist. He was my dentist from my early teenage years until my early-30s. Much to my surprise, I arrived one day to learn he had retired and his son had taken over the business. His son did not have the demeanor, patience, or compassion of his father and so, I left the office with no cleaning and never returned. Dr. Bickel has all of those qualities and more, so he is also a dentist I would fly back for. After a 10-year dental hiatus, frozen from fear, I broke a tooth in January and knew I would have to face my dreaded fear. I cried nearly the entire time I sat in his office. He and his staff were kind, gentle, and compassionate. They didn't ridicule me for my anxiety, they calmed me instead. Dr. Bickel calmly gave me the news I had been running from for nearly 10 years: my mouth was a MESS and needed a lot of work done. We agreed to split my work into 2 sessions and I scheduled my appointments. When session 1 was over, I was much less anxious or fearful. His hygienist was just as amazing as he is. I walked out after session 1 knowing that my anxiety wasn't cured, but I trusted his office, staff and him. Now, after session 2, I will forever go to Dr. Bickel until he retires and I hope that's not any time soon!

Dr. Bickel and his staff are great. They are very good at explaining procedures and pricing. They are also good at making you feel comfortable in the space. I have some dental fear and a strong gag reflex and they did a good job of easing me through procedures. Highly recommend.

When our dentist retired, we wanted to chose a dentist in the Phinney/Greenwood area. Come to find out, we had many choices. We picked Phinney Ridge Dental because we were impressed with the community service that Dr. Bickel has done and continues to do. The staff is caring and personable, and Dr. Bickel is gentle and explains everything. There's a good feeling there.

I recently when to Dr Bickel's office for a cleaning and replacement of a filling. The cleaning was the best one I have had in a long time, the hygienist was thorough, careful, and informative. The filling was also done really well. My tooth had been hurting for months after a different dentist had done a filling and attempted to adjust it. Dr Bickel identified the problem with it and replaced the filling making sure that the same issue was not repeated. My tooth pain has now been resolved! The staff at Dr Bickel's office made me feel taken care of and comfortable. Thanks so much!
