Dr. Thomas graduated from the Missouri-Kansas City School of Dentistry, and since then, has participated in numerous advanced dental courses and seminars, including graduating from the Postgraduate Course in Esthetic Dentistry at the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Dentistry.
Dr. Thomas holds the prestigious honor of being the first African American dentist in the United States and abroad to have achieved Accreditation status by the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry. In addition, he is one of only three dentists in the entire state of Iowa Accredited by the AACD, a credential considered to be the highest level of competence in cosmetic dentistry in which less than four hundred of the more than 8,000 members of the academy have achieved.
Dr. Thomas is also a Diplomate of the American Board of Esthetic Dentistry and a member in good standing of The Academy of General Dentistry. While he thrives on continually learning and bettering his craft, he equally enjoys sharing his expertise with peers in the dental field and has been asked to present at dental seminars across the country. His most recent work centers around the topic of smile design and the use of photography in the dental office.
Being in West Des Moines allows him to offer a Midwestern, small-town, friendly atmosphere while still being able to leverage big city technology. In the twenty-three years Dr. Thomas has been in private practice, the area has grown and prospered and he is grateful for the many opportunities he has had to serve his community. He was honored to be chosen as the featured cosmetic dentist for a Des Moines local news station who helped two deserving individuals change not only their lives, but their smiles.
A graduate of Illinois Central College, Dianne hasmany years of experience in the dental field. Before joining Dr. Thomas practice, she worked for over ten yearsin a general dentists office and a periodontal/ orthodontic office. She enjoys the opportunity to help patients and answer any questions they may have.
